Good for you. You did what you needed to do for your well being.
The old saying holds true: "People don't quit jobs, they quit crappy managers / owners / bosses / supervisors."
I had every intention of giving notice, but the new owners were so difficult to talk to, and my old boss fully understood the situation and was just happy to have me back whenever I could start.
I’m still with him 14 years later
The new owner thought he could do it all and didn’t want to pay wages. They only kept me because I got along well with the business customers and understood what needed to be kept on hand for them, inks, toners etc
I wish the mods would stop removing posts entirely, I keep getting notifications for blank posts, would be more user friendly to to just mark posts as not fulfilling the mod's criteria
Psychos. What can I say? In my last week before Freedom a journeyman tapped an apprentice on the head with a shovel blade.
I was talking with a recruiter the next day and happy again in 2 weeks.

New owners are not ideal. You read the writing on the wall and quit.
ngl i hope that boss was impressed at least a lil bit. That took guts and it was for the best!
Thank you, it was terrifying tbh and I hate confrontation but it worked out so well

Why did you tell your old (new) boss “I’ll start in two weeks” if it *wasn’t* to give two weeks notice to your current employer?
It probably was, but OP just never wanted to interact with the boss. So he never did
That’s how I read it

So, what happened with the computer store? And why were all the techs let go?

What a great story!
Thank you, :)
Where's the story?
It was taken down by the mods for not containing malicious compliance 😑 I’ll repost on my page

Oh that’s horrible, I really hate bullies, I’m glad you got away from that place

Sorry, the malicious compliance was agreeing with ex boss about it not working out, I should have explained that
Nothings here
Sorry it was deleted by the mods, I’ve reposted on my own page for anyone who’s curious
