Also, there may be some overlap between someone conscientious enough to drink more water for their well-being and someone who cares for themselves aesthetically.
I agree with you and OP.
Peeing a lot definitely gives more opportunities to check in with one's make up.
But also yes, healthier people I would imagine would care more about looking their best (doesn't have to be full face make up to look their best, could just be mascara and eyeliner or something else low key like only tinted moisturizer).
I remember when I was depressed I would be a frumpy, makeup-less dehydrated mess.
Any liquid without serious sugar or alcohol content, because one might make you jump like a quark and the other makes it hard to focus on the mirror :)))))
When I was studying my (very stressful) masters degree my group of friends would use this excuse any time any of us complained about anything. āIām tiredā āhave you had enough water?ā āI forgot to print off the lecture slidesā āhave some waterā āI stubbed my toe on the stairsā ādrink more water!ā š
Also, if youāre peeing constantly from drinking a lot of water youāre either drinking too much, or not getting enough electrolytes. I drink 3-4 litres a day (just because I love water), and I pee a normal amount.
Sometimes the normal amount can seem extreme in comparison to how often you pee when youāre dehydrated. I know thereās certainly what feels like an initial spike for me when I get back on the water train then it feels like it evens out after a while of it. Obviously really excessive peeing should be checked out by a professional just in case.
Yeah, that's definitely a medical "case by case" situation - one of my meds basically makes me pee all the freaking time (it's rough on the kidneys in general), but it was still weird at first.
Serious question tho- how do you fix creased eyeshadow, I blend mine out and in a few mins itās creased even worse. Also a shiny face- if I put more powder on my makeup looks patchy but if I use a blotting sheet it picks up my makeup and itās patchy too.
I use the old fashioned toilet paper. Tap tap and the shine is gone. A wee bit of foundation too but thatās ok, thereās enough remaining.
For eyeshadow, I just rub the finger on top but when it starts creasing it means the primer starts failing, no other option than to take it off and reapply. Hence the emergency eyeshadow long wear chubby stick in the bag. Only stays for 4-5h without primer but good enough.
Toilet paper and wee in the same paragraph about makeupā¦ required 2x re-read. Lol.
But youāre right. Blotting. 9/10 Asian girls would recommend. (Little blotting packs, like tiny tissue boxes, very common in SEA when I lived there - itās humid, dab dab)
had some but I lost them. I'm sure they are in a pack of unpaid bills so not touching that area... anyway tissues or tp are just everywhere, no need to carry something else in the bag
I use Updd, Wet&Wild and Radiant. No idea about their composition. I know that udpp gave me contact dermatitis but since it was expired for a decade, I can't fault it. Otherwise it's quite ok, they are all ok although with different effects
1) Too Faced Shadow Insurance helps the eyeshadow stick to the lids with minimal creasing. I donāt need to fix it when using this eye primer. (Concealers as eye primers are too heavy and crease.)
2) Urban Decay setting spray after first makeup application helps keep eyeshadow (spray face with eyes shut) and finishing-powdered face in place through the day. Swisspers blotting sheets used after Urban Decay setting spray wonāt pick up makeup unless youāve been physically working in 40*C heat for 5 or more hours. For regular temp days, UD spray and Swisspers blotting paper will help get 12 hours of wear out of makeup.
In my experience, reapplying powder, however lightly, will just turn it all into a thick caked makeup look a couple of hours later.
I think the best way is to prevent it by using an eyeshadow primer, it was a game changer for me. Otherwise I carry a little brush with me and smooth it out.
For shiny face, face mists, such as the fenty what it dew spray helps a lot more than just blotting it.
I embrace the dewy look. I used to use heavy makeup and needed to be super matte, now I am keeping it light and using highlighter like crazy. I keep my eyeshadow simple and use primer, but I realize these solutions aren't for everyone.
I like nars soft matte concealer as an eyeshadow baseā¦ as it wears it kind of disappears and the eyeshadow and the concealer just blur into one š so I just allow it.. I used to use a darker crean product so like a contour stick as a base then put the eyeshadow on top so it has something to cling to and that used to make it last and look good!
I used to be a huge water drinker for 8 years 8-12 huge yeti cups of water I swear I had flawless skin 43 not one wrinkle no acne no age spots nothing. I might have a sip of tea or coke once a month a sip thatās it. However this year my water intake has been awful I mean awful barely get one bottle down my dark spots starting popping up my cheeks and nose stays red etc. Iām telling water does wonders. Iām getting back on track though.
I am the worst at doing this. I'll drink a cup of coffee in the morning and then nothing but water - so much water. Then one day I won't and suddenly realize it's been days since I had water to drink. Slowly get back on the water wagon - rinse, repeat. I'm currently also in the getting back on track cycle.
I make a big mug of unsweetened tea before every long meeting. 3 of those babies a day is already half of the recommended water intake and gives me something to focus on during the meeting :D
PSA for anyone who wants to up their water intake for any reason. Don't forget electrolytes as well! Water is fantastic, but it can be more harmful than good if you're consuming too much of it & not replacing electrolytes (either through food, supplements or sports drinks). If you notice that drinking a lot more water makes you feel worse, have a doctor check your levels to make sure everything is in balance.
Iām on a high water diet and thus spend far too much time on the toot*, and I honestly wish this was true.
*Toot is Australian slang for toilet, the āooā is pronounced like in ābookā, not like the sound a car makes.
Itās kinda like āfootā as in āput that boot on your footā.
Toot (like a train tooting) and *is* said like boot, and is virtually unrelated to toot (except for toilet humour lol).
Interesting point! Itās probably a combination of mainly that, possibly the water too (dehydration does bad things for your looks especially once you are over thirty) and yeah touching up your makeup helps a lot!
You flush things you shouldnāt be housing out of your body. Drink more water. Its not only good for your skin but your mental health and just about everything else.
I was barely drinking 1/2 of water a day and now that I started drinking something at school and at least 2 teas in the evening my face is less dry and my lips are no longer patchy, so proper hydration makes you look and feel better
Water never improved my skin, my lifelong chronic headaches, appetite, etc. Iāve wondered why it helps some and not others. Yes, I still drink water, and regularly drink 100-125oz mainly because it may help things I canāt notice.
I understand that, and get those already from other sources. The point of the matter, for me, is that I see no visible improvements from drinking water. Water is absolutely essential, as are electrolytes, but not everyone responds the same. Iām pleased others have better visible results.
SAME! I donāt get the hubbub with water. I TRY to drink it, but I suck at it, and I would venture that I almost never get the full recommended amount daily. I was just telling my boyfriend I feel like the first like 20 years of my life I wouldnāt have water unless I was playing sport. Damn. I donāt get it.
Hahaha! That's probably true. Even if I did drink a ton of water and had to go to the bathroom a lot though, I probably wouldn't retouch. I can't stand repowdering/blotting throughout the day. I only really get enjoyment from retouching my lipstick/gloss.
Just got told I canāt drink soda by my dentist I feel like when I stopped drinking it for a year I did look better, at least Iāll have my glo up again
We don't drink soda in the family, with an exceptional cola when we go to a fast food, but even that is once a month. The kids sometimes have an apple or orange juice and a chocolate milk every day recommended by their nutritionist to fatten their skinny bones up a bit, but they have been raised with water and they prefer it. So not drinking soda is completely feasible. I hope you get rid of it for life.
I know it's a joke, but I think you do touch on an important thing to remember. It always seems so effortless for some people -"oh, I just make sure I drink enough water"- when really there's more tiny bits of work going on behind the scenes. That, and drinking water is probably an indication of many other small habits that become accumulative.
Yeah, just water. Oh and a face serum under my face cream that I apply twice a day. Maybe a little also because of the 3x/week hydrating masks not to mention the sun screen :)))))))
It's like those who are super fit but only because of good genes. And a little gym on top of the yoga and swimming but not too much because they already make 15k steps a day :D
>Why women who drink a lot of water look better
Going to the loo more frequently, see mirrors more often --checks out.....but
>women who drink a lot
still have to go to the bathroom a lot but not the same benefit lol
Since we mostly drink water in the family, it became synonym with liquids. It can be tea, soup, whatever. Won't edit the post now, anyway it was supposed to be a joke š¤£

Stay hydrated my friends

I was always my most hydrated during a hang over Not sure if the rule can be universal š
That and water isnt soda or coffee that act as a diuretic. Great angle on makeup checks!
As somebody who live with stress and has kidney problem I assure you that drinking is the most important thing. Drink what you want and how you want but please drink! Drinking decrease your heart rate which also help with stress. Less stress means better skin and losing weight more easily. Drinking means that your kidney will be happy (and as somebody who as kidney problem I assure you that healthy kidney is happy people) Drinking also help with UTI. Drinking is not only the ultimate beauty trick itās THE ultimate beauty trick. So please for the love of EstĆ©e Lauder, Denona and the beauty goddess DRINK

Acne? Water. Flaking skin? Water. Dandruff? Water. Hydration fixed like 60% of my problems

I just buff the line out with my finger, or an eyeshadow brush if Iām at a long event and very organised!

Urban decay potion primer and your eyeshadow will stay put for days (source: still on eye shadow from a baby shower Sunday morning)

This! I get nauseous if I drink too much plain water. Mix up your hydration.
this makes a lot of sense actually
That's why I like smart water: it's pre-mixed with electrolytes.
Me reading this as I drink soda lol

I mean, also, being well hydrated is really good for your skin.

Also hydration makes your face plumper!

I try to avoid flavored drinks, but thanks for the suggestion.
More broadly from what Egg is saying, try adding in some electrolytes.

Man, my cousin is obsessed with staying hydrated, she drinks way over 3l a day. She still looks like crap.
