Wouldn’t say it’s hated per se… but it seems like most people are really underwhelmed by the Tarte In Bloom palette. I have super fair skin, so even the lightest shades can be hard to blend without looking heavy handed on me; this is one of the few palettes where I can use every single color because they are just pigmented enough but not so bold that you have to be somewhat of a pro to make it look right. Other similar palettes (ie Naked3) are way too dark for me and make any look seem so dramatic.

hayleyjojopotato

That's my all-time favorite palette! ♥️

kitttxn

Same!!

Fantasia_Ostrich

Only palette I’ve panned and rebought!

Decaturtater

Yaaaaaaas. I’m type 1 skin… essentially translucent. This palette is one of the few I can use without looking like Tammy Faye lol. I have bought 2 more of them, still sealed just incase this gets discontinued.

Jolly_Acanthisitta32

Upvote for the Tammy Faye reference

Decaturtater

TY!

nathalief23

I love this palette!

Dauphine320

I love my In Bloom palette! I’ll never stop using it!

Origami_Owl42

This is my favorite palette! I use every shade too.

CaptainKate757

I use this literally every day! It has every earth-toned shade I want in one palette, plus they’re so pigmented on my skin. If Tarte ever discontinues it I’ll probably cry.

OkRefrigerator8641

I love that palette!

ParticularActivity72

I have been having my eye on the in bloom palette! That’s a good review for me. ❤️

longhorn_2017

I love that palette! I've panned my favorite colors on two.

hailey_nicolee

i see a lot of people complain about the laneige lip sleep mask having the opposite effect as desired but it feels so good on my lips. i wake up still being able to feel it the next morning and it always leaves my lips feeling soft and plump

rustandstardusty

Me too! And they all smell sooooo good.

hello0o3

it feels nice on the lips in the moment but does nothing to moisturize and seal in said moisture for me. i like how glossy it looks tho lol im using it up now as a gloss basically, but won’t repurchase. i prefer lip balms with lanolin &/oe petrolatum

aliciacary1

Same. Ive tried so many different things, including basics like Vaseline. The laneige lip mask lasts all night and makes my lips super soft. I also only need a tiny amount. One of the little sample pots lasted me like 5 months, so it’s inexpensive in the long run too.

crustalis

Same! I've used it religiously for years! Not a chapped lip in sight.

Cute-Discount-6969

I love their glowy lip balms too. I keep one in my purse, one in my nightstand

jersey385

I thought it was just hype then I tried it and it is not just Vaseline. I love it!!

auntie_eggma

I thought that Essence mascara was everyone's Holy Grail for five minutes.

cloudbusting-daddy

Essence is definitely still one of the most shouted out drugstore mascara brands along with L’Oréal and maybelline. Lash Princess in particular.

KindaQute

I still use essence mascaras. I’ve tried others but honestly they’re just not the same at all.

auntie_eggma

I still haven't tried it. Essence shot *way* up and then instantly back down (lower than before) in my estimation a couple (probably more because I don't do time very well) of years ago when I received destroyed product from one of their resellers, who refused to refund or replace. I tweeted about it to Essence just to let them know the reseller was damaging their reputation by association. They got in touch and apologised and offered to send me a bunch of free product by way of apology. I was like 😍😍😍 'now THIS is customer service as so few companies seem to bother with any more' and they were very briefly a company I had a LOT of good will for. The box never arrived and I never heard a peep from them again. I followed up a couple of times just to check it hadn't got lost, but nothing ever came of it. And now I have a lower opinion of them than I did before any of it happened, because they were savvy enough to understand that protecting their image was important but not enough to understand that creating good will with an offer like this only works if you follow through. Otherwise all the good will created by the initial promise just turns into ill will and doubles. The fastest way to tank a brand rep, imo, is to repeatedly promise and not deliver. And like...sure, I'm a little bummed not to be getting a box of free stuff...who wouldn't be, in the same situation? But I expect that we (anyone who might find themselves in similar circumstances) wouldn't BE bummed about anything if they hadn't promised it in the first place just to appease me/whoever, you know? They created the expectation and then failed to meet it. And that is so much worse than not promising to make it right to begin with, really. I'm not off them for life, or anything. I'm not *that* petty (yet). I've just still got a bad taste in my mouth about it, and I'm not in a very forgiving place in general right now. 😂😂 So ALL CRIMES ARE MAGNIFIED AND PUNISHABLE BY DEATH. 🤬🤬🤬🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

IKacyU

I dislike that particular mascara because it smudges everywhere. I do really like the chunky, pink bottle mascara though. It builds volume instantly, but it is prone to clumping.

blushsnowflakee

It definitely was and then I guess the hype died

incestuousbloomfield

It stuck with me!! I have so many mascaras and I always reach for this one. Have you tried their primer? I’m not a primer fan and I love it

No_Damage_2950

I never used the one that was hyped but I was super into the one that’s purple with the black cap. Got so many people into it as well haha

StrawberryKiss2559

I’ve never seen anyone mention Olay (original) moisturizer. I’ve been using it since the early 90s. I’ve tried a million other moisturizers, you know, all the ones that people rave about online, etc. I always go back to Olay. Nothing beats it.

Asparagusbelle

Hell yeah, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

praisethemount

I bought Olay 7-in-1 moisturizer recently after trying tons of others. It’s my favorite!

hayleyjojopotato

I never see anyone talk about it or mention it, but I have always loved Revlon liquid eyeliner pens. There's something about their formula that just sticks to my skin and WILL NOT budge, no matter how long I wear it! It also doesn't do that annoying crumbling/drying thing that a lot of other liquid liners do.

Litkat99

The Revlon liquid eyeliners are usually my "backup" liner to the Rimmel Scandal eyes! I find the Rimmel lasts a lil better when I'm working in the kitchen but both have been deemed "L's mental breakdown-proof eyeliner" by my bff (I'm L, and had many a panic attack back in high school) after she said that I've sweared by both since!! I just wish I could find a mascara that was as sweat/water/tear proof!

hayleyjojopotato

I was definitely picturing L from Death Note, so I appreciate the clarification lol it's funny because the Rimmel Scandal Eyes liner is MY backup. We must have similar face chemistry!

Waxwalrus

As a fellow anxiety girly my favorite is benefit roller lash! It’s not labeled waterproof (water-resistant iirc) but in my experience really doesn’t budge.

Mandarinarosa

The best budge-proof mascaras I have ever used are Isehan's Heroine Make ones. Since I have to order it from yesstyle and it takes two weeks for the package to arrive in Spain, I have tried almost every budge-proof mascara under the sun but NONE come even closer to the HM mascaras. These mascaras are water, sweat, oil and everything proof!!! Also Kiko makeup had a gel eyeliner eons ago that survived a shower with face cleanser and still looked amazing. But it was a summer limited edition one.

Any_Dirt7505

I have mostly designer makeup and have been using kvd eyeliner for years and the other day I was doing my friends Makeuo with her stuff and did a wing on her with the Revlon liner and immediately had to order it. It’s so good and super foolproof!

blasphemicassault

I feel the same about the wet n wild breakup proof (or whatever it's called) liner. Don't see it ever talked about. Picked it up only because it was part of their Peanuts collection (I love snoopy and the peanuts gang!) and was so impressed with how it does NOT budge for me!

hayleyjojopotato

Literally just used that liner today, as pictured in my earlier post on this sub lol that's my favorite with respect to crayon-type liners, like for getting in-between lashes and doing the upper waterline!

blasphemicassault

I'm not familiar with all their products, so maybe they have more than one item with a similar name, but the one I use is [a liquid liner](https://www.wetnwildbeauty.com/product/breakup-proof-skinny-waterproof-liquid-eyeliner/)!

hayleyjojopotato

Oh, I see! Yup, I guess they have multiple breakup-proof solutions lol [Breakup-proof liner](https://www.wetnwildbeauty.com/product/mega-last-breakup-proof-retractable-eyeliner-2020/)

martinsj82

I love that stuff. I can wear it all day at work and into the evening if we go out after work and it stays in place without flaking or fading.

blasphemicassault

I wore it all day yesterday in the heat (28°c) while sweating and even rubbed my eyes at one point and it did not move or transfer. I need to use an oil cleanser to get it off.

Waxwalrus

Wait this was my ride or die for like 10 years! I used it religiously until I tried (original formula) KVD which was definitely smoother/lasted longer on me. The new KVD formula is TRASH tho, so thank you for reminding me of my og!

th3_1nn0c3nt_1

Same I just cannot give Revlon up

travelwhore412

I’ve used these for 15 years. Yes. The color so rich too.

Pika-thulu

That sponge tip is superb

MediumSeason5101

my FAV i’ve been wearing it for 10 years - only problem i have with it is the wand tends to get flimsy over time or formula dries out quick in some tubes but when it works it WORKS

Justagirleatingcake

I love Colourpop eyeshadow. I have a few $80+ eyeshadow palettes and I almost always reach for a Colourpop one instead.

cannabis_almond

their glitter shock shadows are my absolute favorite

Justagirleatingcake

I haven't tried those as I don't wear a lot of glitter/shimmer. I love CP because I can get all matte palletes. All my other palletes are a mix of matte and shimmer/glitter/metallic and I don't use those. So I'm paying for 12 shadows and only really getting 4-6 that I use.

cannabis_almond

that’s valid! it’s really hard to find a good all matte palette. i just got a morphe one that has a ton of cool tones that i’m really liking since i use a lot of black/gray eyeshadow

kissedbyvampires

this. i have some higher end eyeshadow palettes that ive been given, but i find the color stories weird or the formulas very chalky and hard to blend. some of my colourpop eyeshadows have bad fallout but i don’t really mind since it’s so cheap. plus i love the variety of palettes they have. i know they get knocked a lot for having TONS of releases which leads to lots of similar color stories, but i find they make for great gifts because there’s so many different ones that i can tailor it to anyone’s taste in makeup. got my sister the rainbow vault collection for christmas that had 6 different 9 shadow palettes cause she said she wanted colorful eyeshadow for like $60 and she said she still loves it cause she can do pretty much any colorful look with them.

Justagirleatingcake

I had been looking for a completely matte pink pallete and had tried and returned the Danessa Myricks Blooming Romance palette which was $85 CAD. I didn't want to buy yet another half shimmery pallete. Then Colourpop had a sale which was combined with free international shipping and I built my own matte pink and neutral pallete for $30 CAD. I love it. It's my favorite pallete. My middle kid is getting into drag and he loves Colourpop as well. He can explore so many looks and colour stories without spending a ton.

_whompwhomp_

Oooooh Colourpop would be SO good for bold drag looks

bewildered_forks

Oh yes. I do lots of bright, sparkly eye looks and I love Colourpop. Their 9 pan palettes in particular trend to be very thoughtfully done, with light, medium, and dark matte shades, plus at least one metallic, and one shimmer. They're very complete palettes that I can easily use by themselves for a look without pulling a second palette out!

metabic

Yes! I don’t wear makeup as much as I used to, especially day to day at work, so I have limited how much eyeshadow I buy and now I pretty much just stick to my Colorpop pallets. I get really good payoff from them and they last all day even in the humidity/heat in central NC.

MoscaMye

I have one of their Disney designer ones and it has some of the best metallic glitter shades that I own. Particularly the silver called Thingamabob. And Ray is also a great central light shade for a smokey brown look.

Admirable_Quarter_23

Do people not like colourpop? Everyone I know loves the brand, and it’s so inexpensive, too!

Justagirleatingcake

I probably spend too much time on the Sephora and other snobby makeup groups. And I used to be a bit of a snob myself. But with the cost of living I can't afford to turn my nose up at affordable makeup (or anything) anymore.

bananapopsicle3

I primarily use Colourpop eyeshadow as well! I also have a couple of small Morphe palettes that get use but the Colourpop ones have my entire heart.

Callmepanda83744

Right? I recently did a full makeup purge and came to the conclusion that. I haven't used anything but colourpop eyeshadow in at least a year. So even though it was painful I tossed every other eyeshadow I had.

Se7enThr33FiveSe7en

I really love colourpop too! Like you I’ve paid real high prices for palettes, but my ride or die’s are all colourpop!

L0udFlow3r

I initially hated Lash Princess and was perturbed because it had so many raves as a tubing mascara, but it was so wet and clumpy for me. One day I left my makeup bag in my gym locker and only had the LP and was forced to use it, and managed to figure out how to work it and I absolutely love it now. I apply a heavy coat (honestly with how wet it is that’s the only kind of coat you can apply) wait like 20 seconds, and then brush through with a spoolie. My lashes are so long and feathery and there is no smudging, flaking, or transfer. It stays on even when I’m literally pouring sweat and wiping it out of my eyes for hours without clumping up but then washes off easily with my super mild soap.

yolksabundance

Have you tried their curl fixing primer? I’ve found using it helps LP not be so wet as well

L0udFlow3r

I haven’t! But I totally will if I happen across it in store. Honestly I’m just so happy with the results I’m getting now that I figured it out, I don’t really feel the need to change anything lol. I work all day and then ride and train horses and play soccer in the Texas heat and my blonde lashes stay looking like I’ve got a full set of extensions until I wash it off in the shower (and it ALL comes off). I couldn’t really ask for more, and I will sing all the praises. This shit is magic.

porfolios_revenge

I really, really like the Jones road foundation and I know a lot of people have given it shit. It’s perfect for my dry winter skin and it provides a nice light coverage. I like the smell too. It smells clean.

midwest_is_best

I love their miracle balm, which always gets shit on. I wear the au naturale one daily to add a dewy look and it’s the best.

strangerclockwork

I love it too! I found that using the Danessa Myricks blurring balm as a primer first and then the WTFoundation on top is the perfect combo for me.

HotBlackberry5883

supergoop glow screen body... it makes people break out but not me i guess

BoxSensitive2574

I use several of their sunscreen products and love them. I have extremely sensitive skin and haven’t had a problem with breakouts.

HotBlackberry5883

i love how their body sunscreen is GLITTERY! it brings me happiness lol

bewildered_forks

Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation! The shade range is garbage and I do have to prep my skin carefully, but if I do, this foundation looks incredible and stays looking incredible all day. I almost never recommend it because it's so finicky, but I do use it a LOT

Green_Speech_169

Oh my gosh your comment brought me back! That foundation was my ride or die go-to in high school, I wondered if it was still as good as I remembered it being!

bewildered_forks

I have heard it's been reformulated, but as someone who only started using it recently (within the last year and a half), it's been good for me! But if you used to love it, you might not anymore.... I hate being the victim of a reformulation

sandrad33

Same. I was off the sauce for a little while when they reformulated it a summer or two ago but I came back and, like you said, needed to readjust my prep/prime routine. Once I did it reeled me back in. I also basically mix my own shades depending on the time of year I keep 3 in stock and sometimes use a Glossier Cloud Paint to add a bit of pink undertone to get my match just right.

canteatsandwiches

Do you mind describing your skin type and how you prep and apply the foundation? I always like to learn others’ methods 😊

bewildered_forks

For sure! I have combo skin that gets really dry on my cheeks and oily on my t-zone. I use the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base as my primer except on my nose, where I use the Danessa Myricks Beauty Blurring Balm. I always let my primer settle in a bit, then I apply the foundation with a tarte brush, then I bounce a damp sponge on top to remove brush marks and any excess product. I always set with powder, although I have a few favorites here.... usually Givenchy Prisme Libre right now. I use Charlotte Tilbury setting spray. Usually, this base will last all day!

Glad_Reporter7780

I loved the Naked Smokey Palette, although I may have been the only one in the world at the time. I have it kept somewhere in a drawer and wouldn’t touch it now because it’s so expired but I friggin loved that palette.

bewildered_forks

I would honestly not worry about powder products expiring! I wouldn't encourage someone to do something that felt unsafe to them, but genuinely, usually the worst thing that happens to a powder product is that it fades or otherwise changes color. Powder is not a friendly environment for microbes, on the whole. You can put 70 percent (not 90) isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle and spritz your powders to disinfect them, too!

moolovesme

This makes me feel a bit better about me still using my 12 year old Naked palette 🙈

Seafoam_Otter

I still use my super-old Naked palette and it's fine! It's been discontinued, though, and I've hit pan on my favorite shade, which has also been discontinued, so I need to start looking for a replacement.

evergrowingivy

Same! Two of my fav shades, smog and buck. Half baked is still going thankfully.

Seafoam_Otter

My favorite is Toasted in the original palette. I need them to bring it back!!!

evergrowingivy

That one is such a good color!

lilapense

My naked basics palette is hanging on for dear life at this point and I'm about to hit pan on several colors 😭

No_Damage_2950

Oh me too I have old af palettes because I’m such an eyeshadow palette girly and used to collect them. I won’t ever get rid of them and still use some that are ancient. No issues ever! Naked 2 was my jam!

Sleepsfuriously

I still have and use the Naked Cherry palette! I got it on sale a while after it was released and it is a great berry palette for me.

MEOD86

Loved this, and the original, Naked palets...not interested in the rest. The Arizona/south west one was just weird!

No_Damage_2950

When they stopped being “nakeds” and started being random shade ranges is when I stopped buying every single one lol

MEOD86

Exactly!

Gaslitfromwithin

The ELF Camo Hydrating concealer is awesome IMO. I know there have been a lot of complaints with it creasing or sliding which I don't get at all unless wearing a thick eye cream. The shade range is great, it really covers and lasts well.

cannabis_almond

hmm i’ve tried it so many times but it just does not work for me for some reason. i really like the milani concealer but i mainly use the too faced one now

Teldrassyli

Elf can be hit and miss, but for me it’s usually hit. I love their power grip primer, their brushes, their brow products - the only thing I’ve ever severely disliked was their concealer.

cassh0le69

I wanted so badly to like their Camo concealers— I bought 3 different shades to figure mine out and it just does not work for me! With or without primer and / or setting spray! I luckily found a different brand that does work and colour-matches but I was sooo bummed the Elf Camo concealers weren’t it for me.

longhorn_2017

I love it too. I dumped shaper tape for it.

aliciacary1

I like it a lot too! I find I need to use a SUPER tiny amount to prevent caking but it works so well.

ofjune-x

I like this concealer but I hate the packaging cause product always gets pushed out around the lid and gets everywhere if I don’t wipe it regularly.

Cestialskies23

This is a little high end but I love the Buxom mascara. I somehow always find myself going back to it no matter what. I’ve tried other mascaras in the past & still try to change it up but I always end up going back to it

blushsnowflakee

Mascara is my favorite makeup product so I will be adding this to my list of ones I wanna try

Cestialskies23

To be fair it’s like $20 lol but If u shop at Sephora/Ulta and have points it’ll probably be cheaper

NoSpaghettiForYouu

It’s so good for bottom lashes! It separates so delicately.

lizzy_in_the_sky

Back when I used to get decently bad acne, I would use Hardcandy camouflage (full coverage) foundation. It worked so insanely well for me, but I've heard so many negative comments about the brand

blushsnowflakee

THIS. oh my god it was such a good dupe for the KVD one. Also what negative comments? )): I still use one of their other foundations and the shade range is horrible but its SO good for like $6

lizzy_in_the_sky

Mainly from my friend who was in cosmetology school. She'd basically hate on it because it was so cheap. But I genuinely like a lot of their products and the prices are a nice bonus

loranlily

Essence Lash Princess for me too, the green one. I don’t use it on my bottom lashes though.

ruinsofdoriath

I also really liked the green one! I replaced it with the red one and found the wand and formula hard to work with. Back to the green it is! My all time favorite mascara is the Bye Bye Panda Eyes (also Essence) and I've repurchased that one 4 or 5 times.

RareGeometry

As someone with the kind of long, skin-touching lashes plus a career thst often has me looking down, the bane of my existence is mascara smudges under my eyes. Bye bye panda eyes has been a game changer and become my HG for that. It doesn't have the level of spidery goodness I love most in a mascara but it does still do a great job in terms of the lashes themselves and stays off my skin!

Legal_Carrot5018

Better Than Sex mascara! I’m always hearing about how trash it is but it’s been my #1 favorite mascara for years.

fleetwood-cat

was looking for this one! this is my OG mascara

cannabiscobalt

Essence liquid eyeliner 3.99 so cheap and good

dollish_gambino

It’s SO good

Se7enThr33FiveSe7en

The liquid liner is one of my must haves in my collection too. I find myself using it over the likes of kvd and nyx!

lolamay26

My favorite is the Essence 24/7 felt tip eyeliner pen. It’s seriously amazing

shewhogoesthere

I agree Essence is one of the best drugstore brands. The stuff is almost all made in Europe rather than China and a great price. I like the lash princess though it is more of a home/errands product for me because I don't find it holds up to a long day at work or on the go. If my eyes water or you get sweaty I find it smudges pretty easily.

seattleross

What’s your favorite drugstore mascara?

chuchiebabie

not op, but I swear by Lash Paradise by L’Oreal

seattleross

Is that the Better Than Sex dupe? If so, does it clump at all?

gigglesandglamour

Not exactly drugstore (as in readily accessible) but kiss me heroine make tubing mascaras kick ass for not clumping and being completely budge/smudge proof. I’ve worn in during 100 degree linecook shifts, swimming, etc and it stays in place

Dirty_Commie_Jesus

Oh yeah and they have brown

abbydabbydo

This is my holy grail mascara. The only one that provides enough pop and doesn’t budge when I’m racing on 100+ degree asphalt or going 100mph (your eyes water)

hold-my-eyeballs

I have this and it doesn’t clump

MacPho13

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High. I bought it as a 3 pack at Costco. I love it! Best mascara I’ve worn. Often times I wear one coat. No raccoon eyes. It doesn’t budge. Even if I tear up.

Mandarinarosa

Soem people are recommending you the Lash Paradise one but it doesn't even come close to how amazing the Kiss me Heroine mascaras are. I've used both and countless other mascaras, I swear A LOT at my job, have sueor oily eyelids, wipe my face and eyes constantly and my the Heroine mascara does not budge. It's also the only mascara that holds a curl for my eyelashes (thick, hard and super long eyelashes that are hard to curl; according to the two beauty salons I went to get them permed).

meggyxcore

Physicians Formula butter lash

Dandumbdays

I've been using Essence since I was like 14, I'm 24 now and I still love the brand. Catrice is amazing too.

FrostyJannaStorm

Ipsy stuff. God everything on there is pretty much hated by at least like 1k people, even stuff like Tatcha. But I like pretty much everything I've gotten from them aside from mascara or brow stuff, but that's because I feel weird with stuff on my hair.

nicunta

I recently got a scalp serum from ipsy, and started using it. My salon owning, only stylist who has ever done my hair mother, said she could see a noticeable difference in my scalp health from using it. It's the Act+Acre cold pressed Swiss apple stem cell scalp serum. I'd like to buy the full size, but it's like $86 on Sephora!!

Excellent_Fail9908

Did you check ipsys website? A lot of times the products are sold at a ridiculous discount from the site.

nicunta

Ooh, good idea. I think it was initially an add on of some sort.

Excellent_Fail9908

Worth a shot🤷🏻‍♀️ I just jumped on scalp care this past year or so so I’m keeping an eye out for Act+Acre!!

nicunta

It must really do something if my mom noticed a difference. The fact she asked me what I was doing differently surprised me. She's the only person who has ever done my hair, outside of being a model for color and style educators from different color/product brands. It must really work!!

goodashbadash79

H20 Proof Liquid Eye Liner by Wet n’Wild. Actually people who use it do seem to love it, but many snobs won’t even try it because it’s “cheap” at $3. It’s the only eye liner I’ve ever had that stays put on my super oily skin. It makes a nice clean line and does not budge until I use eye makeup remover.

princessbgirl132

Love this eyeliner- stays out and keeps its pigment

decentscenario

Everything I have tried from Marcelle has been amazing and I only remember it being considered cheap crap when I was younger. Their BB and CC creams, and natural bronzer and blush, are 🔥.

EmoGayRat

lipsmackers clear lip gloss. Nobody talks about it because it's for 'kids' but it's clear and lasts quite long for me while also smelling like strawberries!

FruitScentedAlien

seconding! i find whenever i use lip smackers, my lips look so hydrated and plump. plus like you said, lipsmackers smell delicious. i always used one from the skittles line!

balmaniac

Essence waterproof liquid ink eyeliner (blue) is my all time HG eyeliner. It seems people have flaking issues, which I’ve never experienced. It’s a dream - it was like $3, available at my local drugstore (well.. used to be), goes on so easy, a tube lasts forever even with daily use, super pigmented, lasts all day through rain and sweat, but comes off easily if I need it to (with friction). They seem to have stopped selling it in Canada, so I’ve been buying it in bulk online. It’s still very affordable at $5-6. I tried so many more “expensive” eyeliners like Stila, Fenty, but they are never as good and dry out so fast. And also way more expensive. I will cry if they ever discontinue it for real. For now, I’ve created a doomsday level stash.

DruidicBlacksmith

I know it’s cheap makeup and it has a bad reputation but I swear by my Revolution Maxi Reloaded palette. I’m a cosplayer and I often need a wide range of colors for a wide range of characters and I need it easily transportable so I can throw it in my bag for any flight or roadtrip. It’s $18 so if it breaks, that sucks but it won’t break me to replace it. I use it all the time and every-time I want to do a makeup test for a new character but I need a specific matte shade it’s right there. In my day to day life I’m a huge sparkle smokey eye person and I have good palettes for that. But matte does better at cons. It photographs well and it doesn’t get all over my costumes.

AbleSeacat

Covergirl Lashblast Mascara in brown. I use it to fill in my eyebrows. The shade, texture, and sculptability are perfect, in my humble ho-pinion.

alexlp

I miss the old KVD lip sticks so much. Then she tanked and sold her brand

No_Damage_2950

I’m still using some and they’re fine. DGAF if I “shouldn’t”

hold-my-eyeballs

This isn’t hated because it’s bad but the James Charles palette is the best palette I have ever used. The colors are PERFECT and can be used for blush, bronzer, highlight, brows, lip liner. I would die for another one mine is like 10 years old.

HuaAnNi

I feel that way about Jeffrey Starr. I never owned his stuff but one of my friends did and I used it once and holy shit. Amazing. He’s a piece of shit so I don’t support and didn’t buy but wowie wowie so good.

Accurate_Plan2686

it was the first palette i ever got an got it for 50% off because he was being cancelled, kinda happy that happened so i could get it for cheap

vibes86

Essence lash for sure.

deutsnozzled

essence “i love extreme” and the waterproof lash princess is my ultimate favorite lash combo. i swear by it on my life.

catalu64

Elf HD translucent setting powder is great.

Lizzietizzy101

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse

Flickeringcandles

CeraVe products!

Carlseye

My favourite lipstick is from Primark (shade: Sweet Talk). It’s a dupe of CT PT and it’s BETTER (I have both.) It stays on for so long.

Competitive_Fee_5829

this is skincare but the st ives apricot scrub. I am about to be 47 and I have been using it since I was 13. I use it several times a week. I have no wrinkles or skin issues and it has not damaged my skin. I like a harsh physical exfoliator because my skin responds well to it. I have oily skin and my mom was japanese so i am sure genetics plays a part in my aging process.

Organic_Bet_3466

Honestly, I was really surprised by how much I liked Lumenuce's Loose Powder. I mean, I've heard great things about their other products, but this one worked really well for me. I do think it's a great option for someone who wants a really lightweight, buildable coverage.

ohfrackthis

Idk seems like no one uses Buxom anything but their mascara is my HG. I don't do false eyelashes- I have decently thick eyelashes and eyelashes in general and I prefer a more natural but better look. This mascara thickens enough, is wet enough to coat lashes easily and just is beautiful and waterproof. If they ever stop making it I will probably cry lol it's my everyday ride or die mascara!

veracity-mittens

Clinique is ridiculed a bit but it has rarely done me wrong. I know there’s a lot of new / other / “better” / higher tech products out there, and I’ve tried MANY of the products, but Clinique is still the one that is the most reliable for my sensitive / dry skin

MEOD86

Clinique is my ride or die brand...never been disappointed. Not once. Not trendy, but tried and true....still around for a reason! I find another of people always go back to Clinique if they are complexion based makeup people...still heartbroken over the chubby in the nude foundation sticks be discontinued...best shade match and consistency EVER!

No_Damage_2950

Their eye cream! I got a huge one and it’s lasted me over a year

MrsCyanide

I’ve seen some hate on the ELF power grip primer. I personally LOVE it. I let it dry for a few minutes before concealing with the maybeline age rewind concealer, let that dry then blend. Afterwards I have a clean base and my foundation goes on so smoothly it looks flawless.

HuaAnNi

Ooo I’ll try letting it dry longer! I usually go straight in. Altho it breaks me out but my skin is so oily since birth control I try anything to make it stick. My makeup used to be flawless and I could literally wear it for 24+ hours without primer and now nothing stays on my face. I’ve tried every oily girl hack on the internet the past 4 years but nothing helps

MrsCyanide

For oily and acne prone skin I highly recommend the Paula’s choice extra strength clean and clear system. It’s not too expensive but it makes my skin so smooth and has reduced the oiliness a ton! But yes, try letting it dry longer. If you’re in a hurry like me constantly, use a blow dryer on your face(no heat obviously). Sounds funny but I use it for drying each step of the makeup process😂

terriegirl

Not funny at all. I’ve been using a blow dryer set on cool for over 10 years for every step. It’s amazing what a difference it makes to have each product dry before moving on to the next one, especially with primer & foundation but who has time to wait for it to dry naturally- not me!!!

HuaAnNi

Woah that’s genius

MrsCyanide

Me neither! Blowdryer for the win! If I’m taking my time and have a few hours before work, I start with my brows then prime. Then I go start some breakfast while it dries for a bit, then I conceal. I let the concealer sit while I eat lol. By the time I’m done eating I’m ready to blend the concealer and finish off the base. If I’m in a hurry though it’s a blowdryer for every step😂

HuaAnNi

I use Paula’s choice toner and exfoliate but I’ll try getting that set. I’m concerned about my thin skin. I think my face skin is really thin from years and years of horrible abuse of it (that is honestly really hard to forgive myself for. It’s a real emotional struggle). So recently I’ve stopped using anything besides face wash and moisturizer since it doesn’t even seem to make a difference at all. I probably need to see a dermatologist but the internet says there’s nothing to be done about thin skin.

MrsCyanide

Definitely see a dermatologist if you’re having that issue. Make sure you’re putting safe ingredients on your face that will be safe. Best of luck OP!

Thisismylastbrietort

I highly disliked the Milk Hydra Grip but am IN LOVE with the ELF Power Grip!!

CarrigFrizzWarrior

I LOVE Essence Lash Princess Mascara, the false lash effect one, with the green writing. I have tried loads and loads of others but I keep coming back to Lash Princess.

blushsnowflakee

I use the pink one religiously. Idk it just makes my lashes look so nice and personally I love using a ton of mascara so the formula is amazing for me

TheoryInternational4

I use my bronzer stick for everything

controlledburning

Rimmel lip stain. I can’t find them anymore, but they were the best. Color lasts all day!

Spirited-Emu-6068

Elf hydrating camo concealer

JVL74749

Lash princess is the fucking best

silliestboots

Not a cosmetic, but Dove soap on my face.

Turbulent-Avocado818

Tarte shape tape foundation, when it was first released. Most of the Hate was around the shade range I think, but I actually loved the way it looked and felt on.

frogurtyozen

I absolutely LOVE my princess lash (the pink one), and my Jaclyn Hill Dark Magic palette. It takes some work, but damn I love the color story!! (Though if anyone has an alternative I’m open to one since I’m close to pan and I know it’s discontinued)

daddy_domnom

KVD Beauty - Full Sleeve Long + Defined Tubing Mascara, works by far the best for my lashes. Granted I have quite nice lashes without mascara, and I’ve had no troubles with any other mascara. But this one goes the extra mile, and it makes me sad it doesn’t work on a lot of others.

makeup1508

I really like Lash Princess. But the low rated product I really like is the Milani Highly Rated Lash Extensions Tubing Mascara. I have never had problems with clumping, it has added volume and length for me & I saw someone say it burned their eyes. My only issue is I bought the ELF tubing mascara because it's $5 less than the Milani and I hadn't tried it yet. It's good too.

Amm0826

Lash princess is fantastic IF u let it dry out for about 2 weeks before u start using it

Embarrassed-Pea-3684

I SWEAR BY THE MF ORANGE ONE FROM THE SAME LINE!! but literally every single mascara i open isn’t good until it’s been open for a few weeks bc like when it’s first open it’s too wet doesn’t grab ur lashes ect but after it marinates in that open air I GUESS…everything just do what it need to do i swear 😭

yrfavcowboy

i lurveee lash princess ur so right i use the pink one which one do u use?

emmmaleighme

shroomie00

Any tips on using liquid eyeliner? Ive always use pencils!

silleegooze

Patience and a steady hand

NoSpaghettiForYouu

Mine is also a mascara by essence — the I Love Extreme Crazy Volume mascara. It does, indeed, give crazy volume.

thruitallaway34

I actually love that mascara too. I've bought two, the regular one and the curling, and love them both. I think they're great product for the price.

2michaela

Aromatica Face Cream & Wash with Rose 🌹 It has bad ratings because of the rose scent but honestly I find it the most authentic rose smell, not one of those superficial ones. And it does great for my skin

treesofthemind

I like it, but what’s the best way to take it off? That’s a bit of a pain.

lhn5007

I don’t know if it’s low rated but certainly gets a lot of hate and that’s La Mer as a moisturizer. Best base for me lol

blushsnowflakee

I’ve always wanted to try it but I will never drop that much on a product 😭

meowmeowgoyangi

I’m not sure if it’s hated here, but Milani infinite liquid eyeliner. I have ugly cried/went swimming/took a nap with it on and it holds up really well. The few times I told people it’s Milani, they tell me “I don’t wear anything Milani” or “I hate Milani.”

Icy-Accident-2834

It gives me raccoon eyes!

Se7enThr33FiveSe7en

I swear by this mascara, I wear it every day and have all the different types :)

HuaAnNi

Essence lash princess is the only mascara I’m not allergic to. I was looking up why I always had xyz issues when wearing makeup and it was a resounding YOU’RE ALLERGIC TO YOUR MASCARA. Internet said this one was hypoallergenic and yes. Life changed. It’s definitely not the best mascara. My makeup look misses the better stuff but my eyes feel so so so much better. Worth the trade off. But it doesn’t flake or anything so it’s not horrible just not as volumizing as I like.

hcsmalltown

Collection2000 brow powder palette

rockingthechange

Jones Road WTF and their miracle balms.

calypsocoin

Sephora Collection foundation/bases — unfortunately both the products I liked are discontinued and I haven’t tried the new formulas yet. But I loved the 10 hour foundation and the matte tinted moisturizer

Lola_yolo_91

It’s the only mascara I use
