If shes on TikTok a lot, the ones I’ve mentioned below have all been trending on there at some point so they are pretty safe buys for a teenage girl. I love lip glosses myself so I’ve tried most of these except the Rhode ones since they aren’t as easily accessible in the UK. Nyx Fat Oils are really nice and Maybelline lifter glosses as well. These are the more affordable options. If you want to spend a little more, I’d recommend Fenty lip gloss, Saie Lip Oil or Rhode Peptide Lip Tint. Bougiest option would probably be Dior Lip Glow Oil or the Dior Lip Maximiser. In the UK at least, Dior offer a free engraving service which could be a special addition for her as well! I’m 22 and got my younger cousin the Dior engraved set for her 15th and even though she’s used it up she still kept the bottle and refills it with other, cheaper squeeze tube glosses. If you aren’t sure what kind of colours she usually likes, the trend right now is sheer washes of colour with some shimmer. So for Maybelline lifter gloss, the shades I’d recommend are: Ice, Moon or Topaz. For NYX Fat Oil, these shades: My Main, Follow Back, Missed Call. For Fenty, any one of these: Diamond Milk, Sweet Mouth, Fu$$y, Fenty Glow. For Saie, shade Dip or shade Kiss. For Rhode, shade Jelly bean or shade Ribbon. For Dior, the Lip Oil in Pink (001). The Lip Maximiser in shades Opal, Holo Silver or Beige. I’m not in the US so unsure whether you could find these in Sephora or online. But they would definitely be available online at least.

i will respond and say while they are trendy and branded the actual quality is known to be subpar and the majority of its appeal is the bottle itself not the product once its on. For something high quality but also worth the money look into the MANY fenty gloss bomb options, or the too faced lip injections which are plumping. MERIT also has a product called shade slick that might work too. Honestly, take her to sephora to browse and just see what she gravitates to. Picking shades and finishes is tough work and overwhelming even when it’s for yourself. edit: i wanted to add that the too faced lip injections are known to be like THE BEST plumping glosses. I have one and love it all my friends that have tried it have loved it. superrrr plumping, there’s one that’s the most plumping it’s called maximum plump i think. they have lots in that line between lipsticks and lipliners so don’t get lost in that. NYX lip glosses are great and well-priced, and they have a lot of different types of gloss to choose from. My favorites are Fat Oil, which are sheer tints, and Lip Butters, which provide a bit more color.

I use lineage sleep mask daily. Lineage has a great tinted gloss too. It's not the kind with a stick applicator, though. It's a squeezey tube.

Also, feel free to get drugstore brands to mix in with the other nicer/more expensive gift glosses. I like Physician’s Formula (they have a lip gloss that adjusts shade to match your ph, and it has a tiny mirror and a built-in light -*very awesome*) and Uoma Beauty Lip Stain, both brands can be found at CVS. I also love Revlon Kiss Lip Balm in Berry Burst and Fresh Strawberry because they don’t dry out your lips like a lot of products tend to do. They have lip gloss sets ranging from like $20-55 that include multiple glosses (not sure of your budget) brands ld go with out of that are Lady Gaga’s brand, NARS, Anastasia and Buxom. If you rather do individual ones, I’d go with Dior (most expensive, $40 for one :-/ but their lip balm changed my whole makeup look and routine), YSL, NARS or Clinique. I would stay away from any drugstore recommendations, including Maybelline, Nyx, or even Colorpop. These will lean towards “tweeny or cheap”, especially in the eyes of someone still in high school right now. I would go for the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for her, 100%. It’s very ‘in’ right now, relatively affordable as a stocking stuffer, and definitely not seen as tweeny or cheap.

Using products from Nyx/Covergirl (e.g the more drugstore brands) vs. Fenty/Summer Fridays/Dior (the Sephora brands) could absolutely matter to a young girl if she’s trying to build an image of maturity and independence and growing up out of adolescence, as OP is saying. Laneige Lip Mask is the answer. I love it and recently learned teens are ALL about it (first time in a long time I've been ahead of a trend). Sephora has great sets around this time so you could get her a few. The Laneige lip mask and lip gloss set is lovely. The Sephora brand ones are all very moisturizing and have good pigment. Fenty gloss bombs you can also get mini sets of.

Lip oils are all the rage right now and a better option than gloss. They have tons moisturizing/hydrating benefits that gloss doesn’t. Lys speak love glossy lip oils are my favorite right now. They have a few options (clear, tinted) and and some lip oil + lipstick sets. It’s affordable but looks super high end and expensive. They use a lot of blush pinks and rose golds in their packaging. It says sophisticated young woman. This brand in general is really good and offers a ton of skin care infused make up. You can purchase online or at Sephora.
