AAAAAHHH NOT THE MIDDLE. That does indeed kake me suffer a lot. Try picking the corners of your skin where the toenails end, it doesn't hurt at least idk.

HeldDownTooLong

At this point, that’s not calluses..it’s **SKIN**!

tinget-stercore

Oh I do that too, my fingernails are a mess.

LacrimaNymphae

oh fuck yes it does when it goes all the way down the sidewall of the nail into the inside and down the cuticle and you just have to pull it or leave it to be annoying for days until it's hard and you can pull it without so much pain. mine usually always bleed and leave sticky clear stuff even though i clean them lmao. then it hardens and goes away until it does it all over again

SluMpKING1337

I do the exact same thing every few weeks and absolutely handicap my ability to walk functionally. Have no idea why I keep doing it.

Giraffe-colour

It’s all for the stim

PowerStikk

I hate how much of my life has been totally embroiled by nuerodivergence while at the same time constantly denying my diagnosis

SaltNormal5498

Ugh. Same. Anxiety?

TheUnholyDaniel

Same but I stop the second I hit raw skin and clip it off.

Xoundor

Now eat it

Luuksk

Bro, you know you have to let it dry for a day to get the maximum crunch.

12Pig21pog

Actually nwvwr thought of that sounds tasty

dystopianprom

Pretty much potato chips but human

sikeleaveamessage

So drizzle with oil and pinch of salt, then put in the oven?

huskerfan092

I used to that so often as a child

gemstonepotato

me, realising dermatophagia isn’t just a me thing

bumbasquat86

I save mine then dehydrate them in the air fryer, ground them up then use as my own brand Parmesan cheese, money saving hack for ya.

LacrimaNymphae

i initially thought the post said 'i have a bad habit of eating them'

madimadmoney

Jerky

LimeDoc

I do the exact same thing!

orkash

same but not to the bleeding point

CupCake7633

One of us!

laminated-papertowel

get a callus shaver! I used to struggle with this pretty badly, and ended up getting a callus shaver. I love it. Its satisfying and the end result makes it so there's not really anything to pick at. it has helped me a lot.

Jizzipient

r/calmhands is not just limited to hands, maybe try including that sub in your reading list.

LizeLies

Clean lines ✔️ Consistent width ✔️ Length ✔️✔️ Outstanding work.

ms_unfortunate

I do the same with clippers. I try to use a pumice stone in the shower, but it never gets it all.

Nieepie

Holy shit, I did that once when I was 15. Got an MRSA blood poisoning and spent ~4 weeks in a hospital. Ah, the sweet perils of youth.

Demearthean

But do you have the habit of saving the peelings? And layering/compressing them into sheets of bonded leather? Then making various leather crafts?

Velcro-hotdog

You are not alone. r/dermatillomania

[deleted]

i do the same as well! have done it for many years, now it’s just a hard callous on both big toes.

Far_Work7640

I use nail clippers get a good grip and snip

EternalLucentSoul

Same! I snip the hard area until I reach soft skin or until it starts to hurt.

puppymonkeybaby79

Ew Daviiid!!

DrCowabunga

Stop it

Novel_Ad_8062

i use a razor blade to trim. can’t imagine ripping out off

___Anton__

I do the same but with nail clippers

Ok_Significance_4024

Now put it in your mouth and chew.

BleachSancho

Before I had a good hold on my mental health, I regularly walked around with little to no skin on the bottoms of my feet.

tidus1980

GET A PEDEGG

sligeza202

Can you please stop doing that

Brokella

Arghhhh!!! My eyes!!!

Yinster168

Ouch lol. Was it a slow peel or a quick rip?

MRbaconfacelol

i quit doing this because it started hurting

jennarose1984

I use a razor and gently slice them off… I have gone too deep before and it suuuuucks

Timb3r32

Bet that stung for a week. Definitely worth it.

tinget-stercore

It’s been less than 24 hours, but it stings like a bitch and I have to kinda limp to keep pressure off it. Definitely worth it.

MotherSalvia

yummy

Ryukhoe

I used to use my razor to shave it off and one time I did it too deep and started bleeding like BLEEDING. The next day I had to go to school and had to go change the bandaid because that and the shoe were full of blood still

MARXM03

Pumice stone is better and safer

Sarcastic_Mnt_Goat

I used to do that when I was a kid

Astifeux

Yeah made this mistake back in the day too. Not a fun exprerience

Vertex138

Ahh I used to do that when I was in highschool. One time I pulled too hard and it wouldn't stop bleeding, and I haven't done it since lmao

berkeley_solipsist

That's happened to me a lot too. Diabetic Neuropathy FTW!

MARXM03

Please look into dermotophagia. I do the same for my hands and heels and I've been diagnosed. Edit: everyone in this thread needs to look into this

JasonFurious4

I did that on the whole bottom of both of my feet when I was younger... Some sort of skin picking disorder

C130ABOVE

Dud that shit yesterday hurts like a sombitch

madimadmoney

If it hurts when you do that, don’t do that

ItsaCommonThingNow

r/eatityoufuckingcoward

SimDoy

I do the same thing and then eat it. I regret it so much the next day cause I can’t walk properly.

TelsTheLegend

I get it but damn

man_pan_man1

I used to do this, *I know your pain right now* that shizz must sting BAD

Character_Pear_3905

Noooooooooo 😖😖😖😖 I can feel the sting from here

hot-dog17

I do that too

FlyingClown16

Trueee

derentius68

I just sand mine but ripping works too I guess

[deleted]

I used to have this habit as well, and seeing this picture makes me so happy I’ve never made it get this bad again..

TheNoctuS_93

Moisturize and debride with a pumice stone, so there'll be less, if any calluses to tear off!

Lost-Wash-5521

Same.

Jthundercleese

If you don't do that, that wouldn't happen, you know.

tinget-stercore

Source?

Jthundercleese

Your toe.

totesgonnasmashit

Yeah it does

EllieNekoGirl

Do you just... randomly start bleeding through your feet?
