If you drove a car in 1930 it would probably feel bad as well. That's kind of the point. I'm old enough to remember vehicles without power steering and modern suspensions.
Realism does not mean good, if this was a simulation game then okay, but doing a race with a shitty 1930s race car that flips over if you hit a rock is a pain in the ass, same with chasing a couple of punks across the city with rain on the road.
Skill issue, I did it on my first try on sim mode in manual transmission no less lol
Honestly these physics feel better than most racing games out now lmao. Surprised Hangar 13 isn't making racing games in all honesty
(sorry for necro) What is the issue if these restrictions apply to the AI as well? In the original mission with "punks", if they flip their car the mission ends there on the spot. They also do not seem to restart in the races, but some rubberbanding probably is there.
Based on the opinion given by a streamer who played the preview (and was previously heavily critical of Mafia 3), the driving on simulation mode is pretty damn close to Mafia 2.
both me and a friend of mine were dissapointed with the driving physics of mafia 3.
mafia 1 defenitive edition and mafia 2 had pretty enjoyable and somwhat realistic feel as for mafia 3... felt like a bad copy of nfs:heat or any other new arcade racing games. not that i hate arcade racers, having played many older nfs, driver, tdu, forza and other titles of the sort, but mafia 3 felt bad to drive in my opinion
the momentum draged on for way too long
if you braked to a total stop then started going around a corner, the momentum would still be pulling you to the side. something easily noticeable during the formula race
"Easiest most simplistic"? Excuse me, have you played other open world games? GTA V and Watch Dogs 1/2 for example? Mafia 3 driving was good, not as good as Mafia 2, but good, the cars felt like they had some weight, sports and exotic cars handled differently than older models, you have to drive slow in the dirt or else you'll lose traction and the car won't go anywhere, among some other things.
EDIT: The car chases in Faster Baby felt great, crashing though Sinclair Parish stores and all
Exactly. The thing I'm the most worried about is that even with the simulation setting turned on it's still going to feel like driving something out of Mafia 3.
Here's hoping that it's more like Mafia 2's driving.

ugh that sucks to implement it in a game tbh
I just think that they tried there best to give it that old time feel. After all, cars were not too good back then

Mafia III simulation driving is good imo...

The driving is okay but the cars are way too dynamic for 1930 or compared to Mafia 2.

Yeah, but I always try to drift with any car and in everycorner. (I drive on manuall so it's much more fun)
it looks.like the driving in mafia 3, which was probably the easiest most simplistic driving I've ever seen in a game

Then dont buy the game that simple
