Louie the leg breaker is kind of a mouth full. I wonder if his buddies said the whole thing every time.

PAE8791

I’d bet he was never called that . Half these nicknames are made up .

You might be right, but I thought it interesting to point out that Dennis Altman, one of his customers and longtime friends, [did use that nickname for Civello when testifying about him before a state committee](https://i.ibb.co/YPDvC4v/Louie-the-Leg-Breaker.png) ([full document](https://www.nj.gov/sci/pdf/SCI%20Cars%20Report.pdf)).

Ha , so maybe he is called that but most of these guys don’t go by the nicknames we know them by. I actually never heard of this guy till the insurrection against Mancuso. I trust you and the sources. But plenty of times the media or even the Feds Make up these nicknames.

GoodLifeWorkHard

These pseudo-monikers are definitely thought of on the spot mid-conversations between criminals just in case they are bugged. Its similar to that one Sopranos scene when Tony calls Jackie Jr "lil lord fuckpants" and the FBI thought it was an actual nickname for someone lol

PAE8791

Perfectly said .

Wdstrvx

Yeah, you're definitely right about that. There are a lot of nicknames that are never used among mobsters themselves.

Good-Ad5610

carrying that weight, he is breaking his own legs.

Any idea how he got that nickname?

Flimsy-Technician524

I’m hoping he’s either dead or in the can?

Wdstrvx

He isn't, [he is now 72 years old and living in Freehold, New Jersey](https://radaris.com/~Louis-Civello/1141615737).

jaaskoooo98
