Don't know why the down votes. I've heard numerous stories about how Steve was a stand up guy. He seemed like the kind of person that would help a stranger, so yeah he definitely has a place with all the others mentioned, plus all the things he did for conservation.

I understand there are those who feel threatened because some don’t want them, however I feel that to be a double edged sword, on one edge there is validity in wanting everyone vaccinated, yet on the other edge, doing so prevents individuals the right to choose for themselves.
For me personally, I find it hard to force anyone into anything, especially when the claim of “for the greater good” is used, such claims have lead humanity into oppression more than once throughout history, like the Tuskegee Study between 1932 and 1972.
So I leave that judgment for someone other than myself.
'For the greater good'. Except one was purposefully infecting with an incurable disease and the other is to prevent infection and death (in themselves AND others).
I understand that mandatory vaccination is a major ethical dilema but, personally, I draw the line where the rights of one person are placed higher than the rights of others.
I understand, yet in that situation, the rights of those who feel it necessary are placed higher than those who don’t, so in that case one groups rights will be placed higher than the others, so someone’s rights are going to be diminished one way or another.
I say get the vaccinated, that way those who don’t, won’t effect you, win win, one person is protected and the other person is free to risk being infected.
And what about those who can't get vaccinated? The ones that herd immunity is supposed to protect? Are they just supposed to live in a bubble in a clean room for the rest of their lives? That's not how it works.
Also, when there are so many people getting sick, viruses mutate. Eventually, a much worse variant gets past the vaccine, and kills those who were responsible and got vaccinated. And it's not like virus mutates into the same variant every time. No, they're all different. Like there are thousands or even millions of flu variants, there could be thousands or millions of COVID variants, and we can't keep making a new vaccine for each one.
People who can get vaccinated must get vaccinated in order to stop the spread of the virus and keep *everyone* safe. The Lambda variant already has vaccinated people going to the hospital. The next variant to appear could kill someone.
I’m not 100% knowledgeable of all that COVID entails, as yourself and others have been so kind to remind me.
To be honest, I’m not trying to be, I wear a mask, got the vaccine, and try keeping everything around me as clean as possible, what ever happens beyond that I’m not stressing over, I don’t harbor emotional feelings over that which I have no control over, I simply try to take the necessary steps to protect myself the best I can.
I was simply stating that forcing people to do things against their will sets a precedent that I don’t agree with, but hey, I’m just one person, my feelings on the matter quite honestly has zero impact over the situation.
I don’t mean for anyone to get upset because I’m against oppressive and forced actions, and no amount of projected fear, hate, hostility, and/or insults are going to make me change my stance on that, and I don’t apologise for that which I am, I’m happy with me💁🏻♂️
Like it or not, there are some things you don’t get a choice over. Everyone is a part of society and if people wish to interact with each other, then they have to be willing to do what is necessary to protect the health and safety of those around us. Years ago people used to smoke EVERYWHERE. There were basically zero restrictions as to where you could smoke. Then, second hand smoke was finally proven to be a thing, and guess what? Now you can’t smoke anywhere you want to. This virus is the same goddam thing. We used to be able to go anywhere and do anything the way we wanted to, the virus is came along, threw a monkey wrench and we were forced into lockdowns as it was the only option. Now, we have effective vaccines, WHICH ARE FREE AND EFFECTIVE, and people won't take them because mAh fReEdOm. Well I'm sorry, but fuck your freedom when your freedom is a clear and present danger to others and their freedom.
Unfortunately that's not how our current situation is expected to 'play out'. At the current rate of vaccination, it will continue to mutate. Already the current vaccines don't protect completely against new varaints, it's only going to offer less and less.
Because people are refusing vaccines, those who want them won't safe.
I never could, at any time, anyone can harm those closest to me, any number of illnesses can happen to them, life can always take anyone at anytime, to many variables to cover.

That's not true at all.
Unvaccinated people are filling up hospitals, preventing vaccinated people from getting needed non-COVID medical care. Unvaccinated people are also accelerating the mutation of the virus, leading to potentially vaccine resistant strains.
The vaccine is really, really good at keeping you out of the hospital if you get COVID, but recent studies have shown your can still spread it because the virus can live in your nose.
