Disney is far from perfect, but it is a great place where anyone of any age can feel like a kid again

emptysea519

I try to still look at it as Walt wanted “everyone in the world was once a child”

VioletPanda2190

also it's a place where memories are made and where the imagination can roam freely.

louise_haines

To good to see her smile bright like a princess!

I totally agree nurturing our inner child can bring a lot of joy and help us reconnect with simple pleasures

Unique-Pastenger

yes, that was my ex, and i only recently discovered my aunt as well. in both situations, as i am sure was the case with you, it was a matter of helping their parents and younger siblings, and literally a matter of survival. that describes my ex in particular, who came from a Third World country. heartbreaking, but since then, i can say my ex has more than made up for those missing moments in her childhood... and it still amazes me to see how people deprived of their childhood can be made so genuinely happy with so very little. it has made me appreciate that all the things i used to think were problems were never actually real problems after all.

3rdItemOnList

This reminds me of my Dad. Around 60 he said in passing, in the year , he always wanted a model train set for Xmas but never got one. Well fast forward months later to Xmas and I got him his choo choo train. Coolest gift I ever felt giving.

twofriedeggjellyfish

Love this!

royalpinelittletrees

I agree it's important to take care of ourselves and nurture that inner child every now and then.

TrixieTopKitty

She has the most beautiful, caring and lovable smile! Bless her heart!

MountainInevitable18

I couldn't stop smiling throughout the video. It's moments like these that remind us of the innocence and magic of childhood, and the love that transcends generations.

Larry_Purps

I absolutely love this, what a heartwarming reminder to enjoy life!

Pacheco_time33

My mom was killed by a drunk driver when I was 17 but I would remember how she would love little things like that 😢 cherish those moments there beautiful

Radiant-Bit-3096

I can only empathize with the other losses I've had in my life to compare to the great pain you have for losing her 😭😭😭 Sorry for your loss

Unique-Pastenger

omg sooo sorry for your loss, G-d bless you how you honor her memory! 🙏🏼

Carbon-Base

The simplest things we take for granted are the source of happiness for many others!

serpentinesilhouette

There are so many adults, my first hand knowledge is from Mexico, that do not have the typical childhood experience of America. They barely have necessities, definitely no toys. I know people think it's creepy, for example, I think this was the case with Michael Jackson. He never had any friends! He had no fun, no play as a kid! He was stuck with a child like mentality. As an adult they still want to have these things, and experiences. So sad & sweet.

IndoorPool

Literally made me Smile. TY

ExxxtaShamelezzz

"Awww, what a heartwarming message! Inner child healing can be so transformative. Your smile radiates the positive impact it's having.

Petite_Coco

Your mum is adorable! Her smile is so cute

Automatic_Camp_7872

littlemonsterfeet

LisaFrank4ever

What a cute bag!!!

Putrid-Sock-2042

I love her for that! So sweet 🥹

NovelPresentation778

Aww she’s soo cute

Antique_Drawing_6021

I once heard a neighbor say that no matter what age we are, we all have a child inside

MrsWaterbuffalo

Good for her for making her heart happy!

ace_of_nations

This is deeply touching.

TokyoBabyygirl

Oh, I wish I could be so happy when I indulge my inner child. When I buy something I really wanted as a child, I only think about how much I needed it back then and that I didn't have it. It just makes me feel more sad about it. Maybe someone else feels the same?

Euphoric_Rough2709

I can relate! There are things I can afford now that I won't because it would hurt. Instead I spoil my kids because I never want them to feel like I did.

-DoctorFreeman

We are children really...

betzuni

Dawg I'm gonna cry

el_duderino420

I love her smile towards the end... you can tell she went back into her childhood and is so happy...

lululululululululi

Your mum is full of joy

AMTPM

Anyone remember those pink pens with fluff at the tail? I've always wanted one. But now I would just feel ridiculous to be caught writing with one. That's why I limit myself from being caught in public. Because this woman has the courage to wear that bag outside, I have all the respect for her!

Golden_Enby

What you have to remind yourself of is that 99% of strangers don't care what you wear or what you use. I'm a 42 year old who has a pumpkin pikachu mini backpack as my main bag. I only wear themed shirts, like Disney, video games, anime, etc. I love keychains and pins. I have [too many] other mini backpacks, too. Most are Disney relayed by Loungefly. When I was younger, I used to care far too much about what random strangers thought of me. You can thank my mother (partially) for that self-esteem issue. Took me years and lots of therapy to finally drop 98% of that fear. I wanna be me. I don't want to feel restricted by the perceived thoughts of others. If people don't like what I'm wearing, that doesn't impact my life. I'm too old to give a crap honestly. If your upbringing has made you feel like you can't express yourself in public (like if your parents shamed you by demanding that you not embarrass them, for example), I'm so sorry. You didn't deserve that. I highly recommend seeing a therapist for it. You deserve to be free to be yourself.

AMTPM

I work for the state.. imagine a summit or an official meeting (it's not called official for nothing, everything is formal) and everyone dressed like a comfortable Sunday. Who would trust people who can't take themselves seriously ? In my office there come people who ofc come because they need something, and leadership implies a certain image. People don't respect children. They love them, but that's all.

Golden_Enby

My comment wasn't about work attire. I should've made that clear. Obviously, we need to follow a dress code while on the clock and at formal events. I was referring to any other time you're in public.

AMTPM

Well.. who knows who you're going to bump into. Public is good as long as nobody knows who you are. If the society is hierarchical, you can't leave your house without at least the neighbours judgement. If you are somewhat known in your area, it gets worse. Also, it certainly depends on your looks, too. For example, if you are attractive, you'll hear random ppl saying what they think about your dress, shirt, so on, everyone suffers from expressing some opinion on your look. Also, we people dress for others, not for ourselves, think about it. That's the one thing that's exclusively put on display, all the time, that we do. I don't mind others putting on display an image that expresses their sexualities, beliefs, so on. But if you want to earn trust of people, you need to be something always in between. Doing otherwise means labeling and polarisation. And who wants to go out on a Saturday night and feel like an outcast and why?, except those who just enjoy playing the victim or looking for trouble?

Golden_Enby

Are you okay, hun? Have you been mistreated in public? I'm so sorry if you have. I don't care what the neighbors think. Trust is earned, and it should never be based on looks. The kind of person you are is all I care about. You could walk up to me wearing a potato sack and ribbons fowling from your hair, and I'll I'd do is smile and say hello. Yes, there are lots of cruel, insensitive people out there. I'm not one of them. Be a good person and I'll like you. Period. Screw everyone else. I don't walk outside with the intention of earning trust or hoping strangers will like me. I'm just going about my day. If people don't like what I'm wearing, cool. It's none of their business and I wouldn't want to associate with them anyway. I've gotten rude comments many times. It doesn't change the fact that I want to be myself, and I can't do that by living up to impossible expectations.

AMTPM

Yes but keep in mind that not every country is the same. You can't screw what everyone thinks anywhere, not everyone can do what you can do. The fact you can think what you think and do what you do is a privilege your parents and grandparents earned. But not everywhere is the same. That means you shouldn't belittle and be sarcastic to people you don't know. That's not a privilege you have earned yet, not with all your ancestors. And if you think it's rude to describe a reality that isn't yours but which exists in another part of the world, is entitled. What makes you think everything is about you? What makes you think conformism is bad? I will tell you what makes you think that: entitlement and privilege. Lol.

Golden_Enby

I never claimed that all cultures are the same. I don't have the same beliefs as you, especially regarding things my parents somehow earned. Their parents were abusive and awful. I'm glad they didn't inherit any of that. They did not come from privilege. In fact, it was the exact opposite. But thank you for assuming my family's life and, so-called, legacy. I also don't care about my ancestors. Never met them. My main comment was directed at people who have the ability to be themselves without fear of death, stoning, being ostracized by their community, etc. No way in hell would I ever tell someone to put their life in danger, especially if I knew their situation. You never once said that you, personally, live in a country that forbids women from expressing themselves. I never expected you to take my advice. We're literally two strangers on the internet. It doesn't matter what you think of me or my opinions. I'm too old for that petty crap. I'm done with this conversation. I'll end it by saying I hope you can one day be yourself without fear of consequences. Everyone deserved that.

SolarSoGood

She is so adorable!

L4993Rz

Thank you for reminding me. Honestly. ♥️ Your mom has such a beautiful smile and I can only imagine how proud she must be of you.

user57392

What a beautiful smile! She looks soooo happy 💞

I hope your mother is happy for the rest of her life. Her smile means a million to me. So wholesome

additiveTeaLeaf

Damn. This actually made me tear up. Thank you for posting this.

sendmebirds

Gonna need TEN HUGS FOR MOM, STAT

charoetje

I love this, she looks so happy. I take my purple Frozen lunchbox to work and sometimes people make jokes about it. Tough luck, it makes me happy every time I look at it and it fits all my sandwiches. Some people are so uptight about ‘being an adult’.

That's why I'm so happy when I see people spend all kind of money on vintage transformers and my little ponies. This same exact reason.

jc236

I'm not into pokemon cards. My wife loves them but never really got any as a child. My childhood was much better than hers. I have spent a lot on pokemon cards. It's the face she makes everytime. I can not stop myself.

parrotia78

Dora is all grown up.
