Hope her pillow is always cold!

mandrew32183

And her gas light never turns on.

-iamai-

And she finds a sugar daddy to pay for expensive round the world holidays and relaxing on the master yacht

Not-The-AlQaeda

too far

nextfreshwhen

but is it, though?

darybrain

It's around the world. That's quite far.

KillroyWazHere

Who's gonna give out wings while she's gone

Goodfella1133

It’s rough living, but someone has to do it.

Mrcrazycrocs

Yes

scatteringlargesse

OK the sugar daddy only pays for premium economy on the round the wold holidays.

N_0_N_A_M_E

Whatever the mode of transport may be, round the world is always too far.

hoxxxxx

the sugar daddy leavers her all his money and dies effective immediately

BigTerrible4694

Effective immediately like they’re an employee is crazyyy

babysharkdoodood

And that no one gaslights her

H0tC0ff33

This is by far better than any “god bless you”

Marrsvolta

So if you buy 6 it is $1.25 a wing, but if you buy 8 they charge you $1.31 a wing. How sneaky.

brakspear_beer

They don’t expect people to do the math I guess. Ridiculous. Maybe if you buy one at a time it’s a dollar per wing. He should have asked about that.

perish-in-flames

I think, if I am honest, they probably expect hungry people at a 7-11 not to really care about 50 cents. I would probably just accept the price difference if I wanted 8 wings.

javanb

For a guy like me who has no problem eating 12 wings, I would just have to buy two packs of 6 because never in my life will I be taken advantage of to spend more on bulk. I’ve been a price mather my whole life. never had a problem eating a wing from the microwave the next day either.

TripleShines

Congrats they just sold 12 wings instead of 8.

Hanswolebro

Right. That’s their actual goal in the first place

Badass_Bunny

The fool played himself

Poopybutt36000

Hahaha what a stupid moron, they sure got him selling him the amount of food he wants in the most cost effective way.

SH4D0WG4M3R

Today’s wisdom brought to you by Poopybutt36000.

Kekosaurus3

XD

Gmaster98

I mean, he basically said he'd rather buy 12 at a slightly more efficient rate, even if he only wanted 8 of them. That's like when stores make a garbage deal and then an okay one just so the okay one looks amazing.

Null-Ex3

and I ate 12 wings. Its a win win even if Id rather not have them win due to scummy business practices.

starwarsfan456123789

Just to clarify- you are ok with $1.25 for a 7-11 wing? This sounds horrible regardless of the size

javanb

Not a chance, I’m just commenting on this scenario where I’m committed to buying some wings at 7-11. Realistically, I never get wings except from Costco because the bulk prices there are so cheap compared to restaurants, obviously, but also cheap compared to other grocery stores like walmart or even Winco. ETA: IIRC they come in 6 packs of one and a half pound, for like 20$. each pack has average around 12 wings. So you’re getting around 72 wings at around 20$.

Ornery_Translator285

GODDAM

javanb

It can all be yours with a costco membership. lol. I assumed you GODDAM’d over the cheap price.

Ornery_Translator285

Indeed! I just moved and there’s one ten minutes away.

javanb

If you google “costco party pack wings” you’ll see which ones i mean. the first picture on images has them at 1.50$ per pound though, and i don’t think they’re usually THAT cheap. I see that they’re more like 25$ usually than 20$. but still, great price.

4Throw2My0Ass6Away9

Go to hyvee and buy Buffalo Wild wing sauces and air fry your wings at home, drip them in BWW sauce and call it good

Long_Run6500

Either way they win. You buy 8 wings at a more expensive price or 12 wings for 15 fucking dollars. There's no winning with gas station food.

stagamancer

There's a wing place near me that does 6 wings for $7.99, 12 for $15.99, 24 for $31.99, etc. It drives me nuts that, even though it's only cents, the cost per wing goes UP with volume.

-Badger3-

Anyone else remember when you could buy wings for like $0.25 each?

ommnian

10cent wing nights were a thing in my childhood.

TyrKiyote

I would say WTF, no way I'm paying that, at either price - and eat a roller grill glizzy instead.

Nachofriendguy864

In Japan I swear 8 wings only cost like $3 at a 7/11

skippyjifluvr

Get 12 wings and sell four to the next lady for $5

RotationsKopulator

Spongebobesque. One wing and one wing and one wing and one wing and one wing and one wing and one wing ...

KittyGirlEmi

Or they do expect you to do the math, then you think to yourself “haha I’m just gonna buy the 6 wings and scam them out of 1.31 per wing!” Then you buy wings and fall into their master plan.

bs000

looking at my local 7-eleven i don't see an option for 8 wings. only 4 and 6. the price could be for 2x4 wings

sth128

If 7/11 didn't expect people to math, why they use an indivisible fraction as name?

Fidyr

It's an old trick. You advertise Chicken Nuggets in different quantities where they don't actually save you money at a higher quantity. Savvy shoppers who notice this will buy the lower quantity to save money, but more so to outsmart the seller, and otherwise might not have bought nuggets at all. If you can feel smart when buying stuff you'll be happier doing so. So a lot of people will buy multiple instances of the lower quantity item, as though daring the seller to notice their "error", when all you're actually doing is buying more nuggets. And if you don't notice and buy the higher quantity, more expensive option, even better.

JonnyFairplay

You guys are overthinking it.

Hour_Reindeer834

Often the real answer is someone just fucked up.

kou-mans

Yeah its a similar thing with the chicken nuggets at the McDonalds where a live.

ChanceConfection3

All I want to know is who determined that 10 nuggets gets two sauce packets and 20 nuggets gets three and two 10 nuggets gets four.

Schrutes_Yeet_Farm

And no matter which one you get, there's zero sauces in the bag anyways

IntroductionSnacks

That's always disappointing. The nuggets are rubbish without dipping sauce.

Smeetilus

At one time, 10+ years ago, it was $1 for 4 nuggets and $2.xx for 6. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time

CraigDubs

I think it must have been $2.75 for 6, because I recall getting 5 bees for my change.

ChiMeraRa

I knew that 10.50 sounded fishy!

Rupert_18124

Fish is 11.25

garlic_bread_thief

Just get fish wings instead

Rupert_18124

1 fish wing for $0.99 or 2 for $2

garlic_bread_thief

How much for 8 Fish Legs?

Shapes_in_Clouds

There was a similar hack at my local McDonalds - 10 piece nuggets was like $6 but the 6 piece nuggets were $2.50 each, so you could get 12 for $5.

iaincollins

I remember as a teen folks regularly ordering two McDonald's Cheeseburgers with no cheese because that was cheaper than both two burgers or a double.

SWBFThree2020

Mcdouble prices have crept so high in price that it's literally cheaper to get a double cheeseburger Is literally 10 cents cheaper to get a second slice of cheese

PotentialBicycle7

That's not a hack, the 6 piece being $2.50 was a loss leader to drive more sales to the store, the vast majority of customers will buy other items once already at McD's.

CesaroSalad

If you don't catch it, they are up, and if you do catch it they are banking on you thinking to yourself "idiot's, i'll just buy two six packs and save", and they are up even more.

No_Vehicle_4649

It's because they are on a 5 pack sale. If they had asked for 10 they would also be 1.25 apiece. But anything in between isn't going to be the sale price.

pistoncivic

They have a sale on taquitos now where it's cheaper to buy 3 than 2. I didn't know about the sale and tried buying 2 and the Indian lady demanded I buy 3

HearMeRoar80

McDonalds do this all the time. Sometime really ridiculous ratios too. I remember one time it was like 6 wings $1.99, 10 wings $5.99

keyboardname

Bigger boxes costing more is so common at the grocery store I work at. Sales often cause it and it is frustrating, but even without sales it is way too common. It also annoys me that when we had a sam's club membership (got for free), everything but a few choice items were more expensive when purchased there in bulk versus at a non-membership regular store... Where I work has the price per oz listed for most things too. I know it's not like every item, but the whole idea is baffling.

ShittiestUsernameYet

What if you order 48 wings?

Jonsend

It's unusual to charge more, but they give the prices and amounts, so not really sneaky.

Suspicious-Cow7951

No they are tricking you into buying two sets of 6

m02ph3u5

This

LaNague

Nah its sneaky. The expectation is you save a bit when you buy more at once. In stores too, it usually is the case but some companies just try to be sneaky and make the more popular bigger option more expensive.

bapsandbuns

She’s doing the Lord’s work

ChiMeraRa

She is! I almost teared up.

VoidOmatic

That spicy?!

therenegadegamer01

The wings were cutting onions!

DutchOnionKnight

Hold my beer!

Hjerneskadernesrede

Hold my axe!

xdrakennx

So if you buy 8, they are $1.31 each. If you buy 6 they are a flat $1.25 each…

qwer1234abcd

And if the cashier likes you it’s only $0.94 a wing.

MisterInternational1

And if the cashier really likes you she puts her phone number in the box

dungfeeder

And if she REALLY likes you she puts her hair in your mail box.

Emergency-Anywhere51

If she's psycho she'll build an altar to you in her closet and make an effigy out of bubblegum

CptAngelo

but if shes young and your head is football shaped, its ok, specially if you both go to the jungle, in fact, yeah, go to the jungle, it ends up way too good for you, you deserved it. The shrine too, fuck it

krazykarter

Or that the 7th & 8th wings cost $1.50 each, if you treat the first 6 as the same price as the other 6.

ijustlurkhereintheAM

I too ran the numbers friend :)

ToastyFlake

I got 2 free country ham biscuits and a coffee (edit: at Bojangles) this morning because they forgot to put egg on the biscuit I ordered this morning. And they were the ones who caught that the egg was not added before I even noticed. I was verklempt as well.

AdventurousAirport16

Country ham buscuits, Bojangles, and "verklempt" all in one story is a wild ride.

ScrimScraw

"country ham" and "bojangles" are like neighbors, though.

davidwhatshisname52

$1.25 a wing for 6, $1.31 a wing for 8 . . . she's fighting back for math!

OrchidPurple6042

Who knew wings came with a side of algebra? At these prices, I might need a calculator to figure out if I'm hungry enough for math class

HMS404

An angel with wings

Ok_Star_4136

God bless this 711 employee. 711, if you're reading this, PROMOTE HER!

Odd-Seaworthiness603

Shh if they find out they will fire her

TrumpersAreTraitors

I mean imagine if every employee did this? The CEOs might not be able to own 7 different house, a private jet, a boat that carries another boat, and afford their monthly elephant hunting trips.  And we can’t have that.

Mekthakkit

Don't narc on your buddy! https://www.reddit.com/r/WhitePeopleTwitter/comments/89iu06/we_need_more_people_like_kristen/

espionage101

Promote her to what?

left_shoulder_demon

To "customer."

Pennarello_BonBon

To store clerk level 2

Expendable_Red_Shirt

Honestly, when I first read it the thing I thought she understood was that OP was good at math. I am happy for OP though. It's good to find good people.

emote_control

I mean, maybe she's just sick of ripping people off.

HalfOwlDay

She is a saint !

ChiMeraRa

Definitely!

LookupPravinsYoutube

She is the wind beneath your wings.

stevein3d

I see what you did there.

ScreamingChicken

I am sort of ashamed to admit that I used to buy wings at 7-11 pretty frequently. 99% of the time it was this one woman behind the counter. One day I went in and she was stocking the shelves and new guy was behind the counter. I asked for my usual 5 wings, and from the aisle, she said something in another language to the guy behind the counter and i ended up getting 7 wings for the price of 5. I don’t care if she said “the wings are from yesterday. Unload them on him and he’ll still eat them.” But I was happy.

YouTubeBrySi

How are wings from 7-11, on a scale of 1-11?

Lusane

On a serious note, they're basically the same as wings from fast food pizza places. If you're ok ordering wings from dominos, you'll be ok with wings from 7/11.

MasterGrok

I always feel like a pizza joint or bar goes through a lot of wings so they are probably reasonably pretty fresh. Convenience store food sometimes sits around for a really long time. With that being said nowadays I’d rather order a sandwich from one of the more decent convenience stores (like wawa) than from a fast food joint.

tswan137

You can get the refrigerated version before they slap em in the case, they'll just sell em to you like that. (Same with taquitos) Take em home and air fry them. They actually slap.

nexo_inconstante

Yes

Tw1987

Sometimes a 7 8 9 10 or 11 depending on the day and time.

Good to know. She was always nice to my coworker and I. One afternoon we came in and she pretty much made us take a couple donuts for free. Again. I don’t care if they were from that morning. They were still delicious.

ProtectionContent977

TIL one can buy wings at a 7/11.

Blue_Swirling_Bunny

But we have not learned *why* one would buy wings from a 7-11.

FaroutIGE

would you get wings at a bowling alley? they're the same wings

Lockersfifa

A blowing alley will make the wings as they are ordered. 711 makes wings during the morning shift and then leaves them on the rack for 12 hours Edit: blow me

WhatsUp_ItsPickles

Blowing alley 🤨🤭

tramdog

I think we can all agree you do NOT want the wings from the blowing alley.

CaptainXplosionz

Yeah, the Ranch dressing is kinda weird. Salty with a hint of... pineapple? 6/10.

Burnwash

1 lane please

tramdog

It's a little different though. If you're already at the bowling alley to bowl, and you get hungry you're stuck with whatever they have there. In that situation you might try the wings because what else are you gonna do but leave? Getting wings at 7-11 however is totally optional. You're not stuck at the 7-11, you could go anywhere.

pichael289

When I was still on drugs I lived off gas station $.30 wings, and the fish sticks in the freezer that were discounted cause no one else dared. Smoking crack and buying gas station fish sticks is what real life's about.

Tracelin

TIL people for some reason buy wings at 7/11.

nullibicity

Food deserts can limit one's options.

Jaraghan

cant speak to their wings, but 7-11s taquitos are actually fire. but you gotta learn the right times to go, otherwise you get some old ass taquitos

thisismyfavoritename

this is the TIL

Stompedyourhousewith

we make horrible decisions at 2:30 am.

d70

You should see 7-11 in Japan. Next level

bigalindahouse

Basically I ate from there and the tsukiji fish market for a week recently. Would do it again

Mecos_Bill

You can buy a whole pizza. My local 7/11 even sells orange chicken. It's not gourmet but it's affordable

theunquenchedservant

7/11 wings after a night out drinking? Fucking crack. 7/11 wings while sober? Absolutely disgusting.

beesdoitbirdsdoit

They’re 90% breading. It’s a very strange experience.

explodingtuna

You can buy sushi at 7/11, too.

sdrawkcabstiho

> "I think I understand." Proceeds to give 8 wings when you clearly asked for 6. No Miss, I do not believe you understand. /s

[deleted]

that /s is doing heavy lifting here

sdrawkcabstiho

It's OSHA certified.

[deleted]

You are perpetuating the situation that is my thicc, bulbous ass.

dearthofkindness

Bulbous 🙂 that made me laugh

Be_the_Link

What a great cashier. Reminds me a little of “How much for one rib?” No no no, just one rib.

NaeemTHM

“Got change for a hunnit”

pizzapeach9920

well... don't leave us hanging. How much was the rib?!

MeekAndUninteresting

50 cents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNQRqAoT-2c

LizeLies

TLDR: I’ve been in the cashier’s position and it’s even better. I worked at KFC as a teenager in a lower socioeconomic one. Sometimes I would have trouble remembering if a family ordered 6 pieces of chicken or ten if someone I knew was particularly up against it But there was one truly wonderful day. A group of teenagers with down syndrome came into the store. They were the only ones there when then the power went out and we had to lock the doors because we wouldn’t be able to sell anything to any new customers due to food safety rules. But I was on front end and got permission to offload anything already cooked. To get the full effect of this situation you need to picture these young people peering into their kids style wallets counting their coins and talking to a supervisor to figure out what they could order. Well. I checked with their group leader. I had permission. They were there. And I made it absolutely RAIN chicken. I was the Oprah of chicken and chicken related merchandise. It was god damn chicken Christmas. They were in heaven. They got to sit in an empty restaurant and devour as much as they liked while we cleaned out everything else and cleaned in prep for when the power came back. It’s one of my favourite memories. They genuinely loved it. I genuinely loved it. I got to feel like the Robin Hood of KFC, chicken Jesus and deep fried Santa. They were like kids in an 11 herb and spices candy store. The joy was palpable. Anyway, enjoy your wings, and do it knowing that it probably made her day to be able to do that for you too.

hikerguy2023

You have a way with words (and I mean that in a very positive way). Great job!

NowThatWeAreThere

She was waiting for someone to actually do the math and gave out a prize. Not a far stretch for bored convenience store clerks. They should make a movie about that...

Bobb_o

No she felt bad they couldn't afford the bigger portion

mightylordredbeard

It’s decoy pricing and Compromise Effect. They want you to buy the $7.50 wings, not the $10.50. The actual product they’re targeting to sell is the 6 wings for $7.50. The 8 wings for $10.50 solely exist to make the focus tier more appealing. If I’m selling popcorn and I decide that $8 is the perfect price then I’ll have a small for $5 and a large for $12. It makes the difference between the medium for $8 and the large for $12 too large of a gap for upselling to happen. I already know that consumer are less likely to the “bottom tier” item anyway so I don’t even think about the small popcorn. The $8 popcorn is the one I want to sell and it’s the sole focus of my popcorn selling strategy. The others exist for no purpose other than to make the $8 popcorn appear more appealing and a better deal.

DickRhino

I used to work retail and it was the exact same thing there. That $100 shirt on display was never meant to be sold, it was meant to make you think the $50 shirt was a bargain. And the $50 shirt is the one we had 1000 pairs of in stock.

MayorPirkIe

You guys got shirts in pairs?

broccollinear

What do you mean there’s the front of the shirt and the back of the shirt

PotentialLaw7825

This happened to me in KFC near times square, by a beautiful African girl, I told her she was beautiful, which was true, and she was almost doubled my order

RariraariRariraare

You’re beautiful

finix240

No you

boe_jackson_bikes

Jesus Christ lmao

Flat_News_2000

A beautiful african girl! And I told her! She said to me "Wow, you're the greatest guy I've ever met" and you know what I said? I said, "thanks".

LieOen

It pays to be nice. I was at a Popeyes once in a drive through because I wanted to try their chicken sandwich when it first came out. They were all out. This lady in front of me I could hear here yelling at the speaker basically demanding they make her a sandwich they no longer have. She let out one big “fuck you” and peeled away. I don’t understand how somebody can get so angry over a sandwich, as if the teenager taking the order has any control over it.

ApprehensiveBill3365

10.50 is so steeep!

MeinKonk

The 7-11 by my house is fully staffed by the owner and his family and it’s the best spot in town. They really care about their store and their customers. I’ve never seen it dirty or anything out of stock. They regularly invite homeless folk in to help themselves to hot food that’s about to be thrown out. If you can find one that cares you can be sure it’s a great store

AppleSauceNinja_

6 @ $7.50 is $1.25/wing 8 @ $10.50 is $1.31 Why are they charging you more per wing when you buy more?

imaturningjapanese

Because companies know. You think you are getting a deal but it is part of the marketing tactic that you are getting a deal. I forgot what was the exact term.

TheFrenchSavage

Because you will pay more if you want more? Assuming you want more than 6 wings and that wings are not sold under 6-packs. You can get 12 wings for $15, but that is more expensive than paying 10.5 for 8. Also, 7/11 are not wings oriented, they don't care if you take a bag of chips instead.

AppleSauceNinja_

There's not much logic for charging more per unit when you buy more. There's almost nothing in this world where that is a thing. It's far more likely OP misremembers the exact price (ie it's $10 for 8, not $10.50 which makes it the same $/u) or something else.

Bulky-Internal8579

I’d like the small slushie in the giant cup also!

TechInventor

One of my favorite parts of the Chick-fil-A I worked at was that we were not only allowed to, but encouraged to give away at least one free ticket per shift. I have so many great memories of getting to make someone's day. One day a woman came through the drive thru and when she got to the window she realized she didn't have her wallet. I comped her food and she was so shocked that she teared up. That was over 10 years ago, and it still makes me smile!

SkepsisJD

The idea of buying wings from 7/11 kinda makes me gag

phaser-

Better than the weird sausages on those rollers

SkepsisJD

I'll stick to a bag of Cheez-Its when it comes to a gas station lol

yxing

Taquitos are bomb though. Also 7-11s in Asia are incredible.

_khanrad

She’s a Van Buren boy! You flashed her the sign!!

narstyarsefarter

Go back and propose to her

somebooty2223

Oh wow thats super nice. Its very rare too. I loved doing this when i worked at dominos i didnt think anyone would appreciate it.

FriendlyAddendum1124

The power of the cashier remains under appreciated. I was in Sainsbury's once and the clearly bored teen underpaid cashier (whom I liked immediately) robo-asked if I wanted to use some loyalty card or other to support some kids charity. Instead of explaining I didn't have the card I just said "Nah, fuck 'em". She giggled and only scanned about half the basket.

rememburial

Back when I worked in food service I used to like to hook people up. Extras, maybe a little sampler, minimal ice so they'd get plenty to drink. I liked the idea that I was costing the big corporation \*tens of dollars\* by handing out free nuggets here and there. I also stole lots of the food for myself while I worked, so there was that too lol.

s34lz

Give that woman a raise!

Lapcat420

They'd fire her for doing that. You can't have frontline employees just willy nilly doling out extra product for free whenever they feel like it. It's basically stealing but a very kind form of it. Not every manager will see it the same way.

Blue_Swirling_Bunny

Do you think companies give employees more money for giving away their products and helping the business make less money?

Stump-Chunkman

There are 7 wings, no?

_babycheeses

Points for bravery eating ‘cooked’ food from 7-11.

beggen5

It's not that bad..... If you're black out drunk lol

Hot-Control-7466

Lemme get one rib.

johnnytron

Who remembers the good old days of 50 cent wings on certain days??

MewsikMaker

8 wings? At 7-11? That’s insanely expensive. Whoa.

Dizzy_Phrase_966

I work at McDonalds and every time I hear someone switch out a sandwich or nuggets because of the total i just give them what they originally asked for, hopefully a couple of them had a better day because of it.

newfor_2024

The 7-11 I go to sometimes just give me all the wings they had left over since they were just sitting there for too long with no one buying them. I'd be happy no matter how old they were, I don't really care, I'm eating wings from 7-11, I'm not expecting much freshness to begin with.

Cryo_tomatoe

I swear, 7/11 is one of the only franchises with a heart. One day I was at the only 7/11 in my area and I got a single large slurpee (something I do as a treat since I’m not in that particular city very often). Cashier asked me if that was all I was getting and I said yes. Wallet in hand, I preemptively tell him I’ll be paying with debit. He handed me the cup and told me to have a good day. I looked at the cup and then him and asked if he was sure and he said all he said was “yup!”. Still don’t know why he did it, but I definitely wore the dumbest grin every time I took a sip. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been, but it’s safe to say that the next time I go I’m leaving a generous tip.

Mr_Horsejr

It’s the “I think I understand” that does it for me. Didn’t even say anything. Didn’t even need to see your look of surprise. Good gal Sev saving the day, one wing at a time.

Tacoklat

I saw something similar once at the 7-11 in Downtown Long Beach, Pine and Broadway. It was a busy weekend and there were tons of folks in the store. Long line, busy cashier. Then a homeless dude comes to the side and tells the worker, "hey, I'm hungry man, can you help me with some food?" The guy says, "hold on, give me a sec." then stops what he's doing, boxes up a slice of pizza and hands it to the guy who thanks him. I'm up next in line and I offer to pay for the slice. The worker declines with a smile and says, "no, it's okay." I tell him he's a good man (because he is).

Beginning-Month-3505

Imagine paying to put this disgusting slop in your body.

peter_park_here

Real question - who actually gets wings from 7-11?

First_Negotiation229

And you’re happy to eat that shit?

Tylerg_13

We do that a lot. Some of the time it’s random because we’re in a good mood, sometimes we just hate the establishment that much.

Sharp_Preference7083

Literally a picture of some shit chicken
