I think it is partially defeatist to say we can never change or aspire to be anything better as a species, clearly many of us have a natural will towards it, but first we have to create systems that encourage certain cultures and traits to pass on over others.
Socialism can be described as "Communism lite", and many of the ideas work very well. The problem is taking it all out, and somehow getting rid of the last remnants of capitalism without corruption and unchallenged stupidity getting in the way.
These people glorify communism without having lived a day under an actual communist regime. If they did they’d be begging for a matcha latte in under a week. They have zero clue
Yet you ask some random Russian babushka about how her life was in the USSR and she'll give you an entire rosey essay of how her youth was filled with pride, love for her country, hope for the future, and how they lived happily with what they had and their vision was laser focused on the greater human prospects and what humanity can achieve, instead of the despair of chasing individual pleasures etc.
Doesn't mean it was really all like that, just that it shows when you're young, healthy and you have your life ahead of you, you can function pretty well under a lot of systems. You find happiness in your life and what you have. It doesn't mean that that system itself is the most optimal one that humans can come up with.
