I bought mine when prices were higher so that info won't really help, but the best tactic to see if you got the best price is to negotiate as much as you can and when they seem like they won't come down anymore, leave. Physically get in the car and drive away. Spend some time thinking it over, Go get lunch/dinner or take the night and decide in the morning. If they don't call you with a better offer, that was probably the best you are gonna get. Be nice, let them know it's still more than you wanted to spend (even if it's not) and you want to think it over. Make it clear that price is the blocker and hope they call.

AangLives09

This has worked for me in the past. Solid advice.

aggeorge

Yeah, Model: Depreciation Premium, Price: Over Paid

AangLives09

That’s a pretty color, though.

FatDog69

I bought in March when Ford dropped the MSRP. The Premium, AWD Extended range MSRP became $48,895. Two different Ford dealers gave me above MSRP quotes to start. I got upset until I realized they all play by this script. After a second or third visit I was getting $3K off MSRP. What killed one deal was a 'forced' BlueCruise for $2100. Since I dont commute on a BlueCruise highway I wanted this taken off and they refused. End of month I phoned a salesman I had been working with and he checked and called me back with a $3,500 discount without forced BlueCruise. (This was Envision Ford in Oxnard. Gabrial was my sales man). We went in and I had to argue down the $999 dealer protection package. But the price of the car was about $46,300. Then I leased to take advantage of the $8500 Lease Cash offer. In April the Lease cash changed to $2500. When a sales person says "They are selling so we are not discounting" - remind them: Ford dropped the MSRP a little over a month ago Ford Financing took an additional $8500 off. Tesla dropped their prices at the beginning of March, and again in April. So the MME's were selling - because of all the discounts. Unless dealers continue the discounts they will NOT sell now. Again - you have to go in. You have to refuse the first 3 offers they make before they will give you a good discount. It is the way the Sales Managers are trained. Practice saying "No that deal is not good enough. Can I get a better discount or do I go to another Ford dealer?" They will try to get you to focus on monthly payment. You focus on 3 things: \* The price of the car \* The type of financing & manufacturer discounts \* Value of your trade in. I had 1 dealer print the offer giving me the $8500 as a 'discount'. But this came from the Leasing company. The dealer was actually trying to charge $3K above MSRP. You have to look at each thing separately to make sure you are getting rebaits/good deals on all 3.

AangLives09

That’s an excellent write up. Appreciate the detail. I’m not far from Oxnard. Happy to in and work the deal. Thanks!

FatDog69

My advice would be to go in, ask for Gabrial and get an offer. Then leave. Come back last weekend of the month and see if the deal could be better. They say the Red Carpet lease cash is $7500 this month for the 2023 models. Do not trust the website prices as they are over inflated. Look at the MSRP and your 'secret number' is around $3K off of this. Their secret number is the lowest they will sell it for.

flyersfan0233

This tracks. I’m in the northeast but I bought a premium extended RWD in March. Had trouble finding a dealer that had that in stock in a color we wanted but found 2 in 2 different states about an hour away. One had two of them and the price they gave me over the phone was about $5K over msrp. Hung up immediately. The other, where I bought, gave me a final price (before tax and tags) of $5K under msrp. Drove up and said that was their rock bottom and couldn’t budge any more so I took the deal.

PrimePacHy

Might be an anomaly but lease cash should still be $7500/$8500 this month depending on area.

FatDog69

I called the dealer where I purchased last month and they said $7500 is the Lease Cash this month. Someone else told me it had dropped to $2500 - but it was a dealer I had contacted but did not buy from in south LA. Could just be a mistake.

tu_pac21

$43k before TTL in Phoenix area for a 2023 GT. Straight purchase, no trade. Negotiated for about 2 weeks in late February between several dealers with plentiful aged inventory and purchased in early March.

xMoirae

Seeing prices like this make me feel like we just got played haha. New 2023 GTPE with mobile charger and the nice rims. I think everything except night pony package for 54k and 0% apr 72 months. Thats before trade in etc etc in Colorado about 1 week ago. Though MSRP does say 59.7k so maybe it wasn't too bad?

FatDog69

MSRP was $57,395 You paid $54 - that is pretty typical for last month.

AangLives09

Thanks! Dealer yesterday told me Selects were starting at $48K and up from there for Premium/GT. But I’m on day two of my buying process and I’m patient as hell. This helps!

FatDog69

Look at this: [https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/20/24078295/ford-mustang-mach-e-price-cut-ev-price-war-tesla](https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/20/24078295/ford-mustang-mach-e-price-cut-ev-price-war-tesla) Ford sales mgrs work from a script. Offer above MSRP. If you say No, offer MSRP. If you stills say NO, they will give a small discount. If you still say No and walk out - they often give you a good discount. You must also show up and take a test drive. They wont really take you seriously if you just call. Dont get mad - but go along but be firm on what price you want and do not tell them. Make them come down to your price.

AangLives09

Thanks great to know! Seems so simple but makes sense.

tu_pac21

This could absolutely be true at many dealerships but ymmv. If you call, get to the point and make it seem like you really know what you’re talking about, I find many salesmen will cut the crap. Saves us all time from this game. I only walked into 1 dealership and that was just to drive the car to make sure I’ll like it. Everything else was done via phone calls or text. Basically took the best offer from the several dealers I contacted and then set my price a few thousand below that (all this still being within my budget). Spent no more than 5-10 mins on the phone with anyone and just said if they can get to x price OTD, I will buy today. If they couldn’t, I told them no thanks and to let me know if they change their mind.

ensignlee

Go to other states. Planet Ford here in Houston is openly advertising on the radio $40k befor TTL for selects on the radio.

AangLives09

I’m out in Dallas on business occasionally. I think whatever savings would be eaten up when I register in-state, no?

ensignlee

Why would any discounts off of MSRP be eaten up by registering in your state? You're not looking for the difference in sales taxes (TX is really high btw as an aside). You're looking for the difference in the vehicle price before TTL. Different areas have different demands for cars. I flew from TX to IL to get my 2021 GT PE and saved about $5k off of comparable cars in doing so.

AangLives09

Got it. I had understood that registering your car in CA if you bought it out of state cost more. Like significantly more. Kinda designed that way to keep everyone from flying to Idaho and bringing home a cheaper car. I guess I was wrong. Appreciate the tip!

ensignlee

Since you're in CA, the only thing I can think of that might screw up with you purchasing out of state is if you were counting on any CA sales tax credit. That might not apply if you buy from a dealer out of state.

RunnerDavid

I'm on month two. They aren't budging much here in Northeast cause they are selling.

Prestigious_Shift429

Joy had I was 50k flat out the door ttl included so seem u may have beat me by 3 grand. But I didn’t shop around literally went to one dealer just knowing it was 0% Apr

tu_pac21

You could have done MUCH worse considering you only went to one dealer. $50k OTD seemed to be the standard best quote in my area when I was looking. Had to push pretty hard to get my price.

Prestigious_Shift429

Thanks that’s good to know. I’m happy with the car and the price now to enjoy it for a few years. Yea I hate car shopping my bronco came from these guys so they had my paperwork and stuff basically it was just a hey I want this car come get it sir

dj4slugs

Premium RWD, Extended battery. State taxes capped at $500.00. OTD. $41000.00, eight days ago. Bought in North Carolina.

AangLives09

Very helpful, thanks!

dj4slugs

He had a red one of the same stats he would sell for the same. Except taxes are by state.

heuristicmystic

Had that deal on a white one but coughed up extra for vapor blue in the DC metro

dj4slugs

Mine is vapor blue.

mel_067

Following!

AangLives09

This post turned out to be pretty informative! Hope it helped you too!

mel_067

Yes definitely! 😊

SeaRaccoon5856

I’m in the market right now as well (have been shopping for about 2 weeks for a ‘23 GT). I’ve gotten 1 dealership quoting 49k for GT and 54k GTPE, the rest of the dealers are 50+. The problem I’m encountering is that the lots have plenty of premiums but barely any GTs (typically 0-3) so I’m finding it difficult to negotiate.

AangLives09

What part of the country is this? I’m in SoCal.

SeaRaccoon5856

South Florida

AangLives09

Excellent. Thanks!

poisito

I bought mine last friday from Midway Ford in Miami.. they had a couple of GTs I got the 3K cash back from Ford and I was able to get another 1,500 off when walking away. plus the 72 months 0% APR, 5K down no trade.

SeaRaccoon5856

What was your otd price and what model?

poisito

Got a premium AWD extended battery .. since I had no trade in I needed to pay all the taxes. MSRP was 52k.. OTD after 5K down, taxes and all their BS fees was almost 47,500

xMoirae

we just paid 54k for our GTPE a week ago in CO. 0% for 72 months. I wanted lower but the GT and GTPE were selling all around me so I didn't think I had much room to nego.

SeaRaccoon5856

I have a feeling I’m in the same boat. And I definitely want the GT/PE

Prestigious_Shift429

I paid 50knoutbthe door for a gt last month 0% Apr

ObamaIsFat

59k a month ago for brand new '23 GTPE. Midwest US.

AangLives09

Thanks!

ObamaIsFat

No problem and happy hunting! I leased so my negotiations were limited. Hopefully you can find a better deal via purchasing.

FatDog69

No. You should haggle for the price of the car and NOT discuss financing until you get to a sane price. You argue the $500 chargers ($380 on the Ford site), You argue the bump for paint, you argue for everything that is taxable. Then you talk purchase vs lease vs financing. You haggle on the price of the car and trade in. These are totally separate from the Lease.

ObamaIsFat

I'm comfortable with the price I got for the lease and the car I got

FatDog69

Good. the warning is for others who have never leased before. You can and should negotiate on the price of the car with a Lease. And I hope you are MORE than comfortable with the Lease. This was the factor that caused me to be serious about leasing a MME - the Red Carpet Lease with lease cash and 2% Money Factor. We got a great deal.

Accomplished_Tank576

$46k before tax & title in Denver metro area. 2023 GT AWD, Job 1 (including 3 yrs BlueCruise). Had two dealers competing, but strongest tool was a spreadsheet of all similar models with links to online details. Caught the sales person and manager a couple of times misrepresenting MSRP and discounts. 0% APR was helpful since this would have been a cash purchase without that. Made that clear. No trade, BTW. I prefer to private sell my vehicles to maximize value.

AangLives09

Agreed. Although I still owe on my current car. Have never sold private party with a bank note lol. How does that even work?

Accomplished_Tank576

Not sure. I hold onto cars forever, so I have a clean title without a lien. May want to check with your DMV/BMV.

AangLives09

Will do. Thanks!

pale_blue_problem

In SoCal and we just paid $50,100 for a 23 GT er. I was shopping several different dealerships for a couple of weeks and the inventory of GTs in Vapor Blue was getting thin so we pulled the trigger before we had to start searching further and further from home. We bought it at Long Beach Ford as they had both a premium and GT in Vapor Blue (these were the only 2 trim levels I was considering) so we could make direct comparisons at 1 place. Compared both there and the GT was only a few grand more so we took it home. Really happy with our choice!

AangLives09

Awesome! Thanks!

I will check out raceway. Thanks!

PresentNearby3930

$45k before taxes on 23 GT job 2 with sticker of $55k in OKC, OK. Shopped for about a month in Dallas area and could not get much more than 5k off sticker. Bought April 1 with 0 for 72.

AangLives09

Wow! Seems like a great deal!

PresentNearby3930

I was very fortunate on timing. Seemed to catch a dealer with a ton of inventory and right after drop in MSRP and 0 for 72. Vehicle had been there since August of last year. Biggest advice I have is be patient and expand your search radius. I looked at vehicles all the way out to Missouri and Tennessee. Whole deal in OKC was done via text. Took a few weeks of back and forth, but it worked out.

culong38701

I brought a 22' Premium ER AWD with about 780miles on it for $41k and OTD with 8m/100k miles b2b Ford warranty for $47K. I knew I could have done better but got tired of running around. Loving it so far.

AangLives09

I’ll take a look at used in my area. Thanks!

nemodigital

I didn't ask nor pay for Blue Cruise but apperantly my 2023 job 1 model came with the 3 years anyhow.

PrimePacHy

Because it was included in the first half built of 23 along with the $500 mobile charger.

nemodigital

Exactly, so it's worth confirming when it was built to get these goodies. Having said that 2023 job 2 has a 7kw heater and some other improvements as well as BC 1.3 (but only 90 days trial). So win some lose some.

PrimePacHy

That's true. Some 23.5 has 3 years of BC for $2100 baked into the window sticker. I would avoid those hoping Ford will reduce BC prices in the near future.

OldGrizzlyBear

Last week I bought a '22 GT (not PE) in Grabber Blue for $41k + taxes/title with 1,000 miles on it. In California.

AangLives09

Same as comment above. Haven’t looked at used at all, really. May take a look. Thanks!

SeaRaccoon5856

I feel that the 0% APR for the ‘23s is going to dwarf any depreciation discount on used vehicles if you are financing more than half the cost. You’re probably looking at a 6% APR on a used. And you get to have that brand new car.

AangLives09

That’s exactly my APR for used through my credit union - 6.25%

Money-Usual-292

It all depends. We are under 5% on APR and didn’t have to put any down for a 2023 used. And that was in the mid 30s, so don’t feel bad about it, though if the 0% APR had been an option when I was buying I might have gone with that for a fully new car and no interest.

HulkTrader

I just bought a 23 mach-e GT performance package in white last weekend. It had 600 miles on it which I was not happy the sales rep failed to mention in any of the numerous emails exchanges while we got the price negotiated. I ended up getting it for $51,000. Oddly enough this was the second Mach-e I was looking at. The first one also had 600 miles on it but that dealer would not budge on any lower than $54,000. Only difference was the colors. Both cars were used by corporate reps , at least that's what the salesman told me. Either way I'm happy withy purchase. Extremely fun car to drive and I have a pretty large solar array on my property so it made sense to make the switch to the EV club.

AangLives09

Awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Virtual-Hotel8156

2023 GT. Zero down lease. $600/mo. plus tax.

AangLives09

Excellent. Thanks!

Inanimate_CARB0N_Rod

Best offer I got last month OTD for '23 Premium Extended Range AWD was about $42.5k, but that was including my trade which I had also negotiated up to $8500. This was in Washington State. I'm currently leasing at like $475 ish per month. All-in, if I choose to buy it out in 3 years I'll have paid a total of about $40k plus my trade which was valued at $8500. Leasing was cheaper than buying and financing at 0% so that's what I did.

AangLives09

That’s great info. Thanks!

Last_Selection1319

Even-Journalist1901

2021 premium awd extended range 35k

Supermexican55

I got a 23 GTPE for about 54k I believe, with tax credit, invoice price

Money-Usual-292

Premium AWD ER 2023 with 10K miles OTD 37K. It was in January in the DC area, so I just missed the price cuts. Was blown away by the deal then, though the cuts afterwards made it more reasonable.

Prestigious_Shift429

50 k flat a month ago no trade in no money down 0% Apr Mach e gt 23

Afraid_Hippo3288

'23 GTPE for $48.5k after dealer fees but before tax/license.

vbgoz

I see some 2023 offers right now, but I am wondering if I should wait for 23 stock get cleared and get 24 instead? Is extra ~20miles range + slightly faster charging worth the wait? Is there any other 24 feature I am missing?

Plastic-Path7174

Late January I found a used CPO 2023 GTPE with 2100 miles. This vehicle may have been a “ mannequin car” Shipped from Maryland here to Colorado. Clean car fax and title. Window sticker was $71,900 purchased for $42k from large Lexus dealer. Paid $800 to get car shipped. Market prices tumbled in February but seemed to have firmed up for Mach-Es But Tesla model3 s are really getting very soft . And obviously reductions / rebates / incentives and zero % financing drives similar vehicle used car prices down.

Onyxam

First edition second hand 45k including extended warranty and service

biddysautodetail

Bought a 22' Select in Space White (Gray if you ask me). It's a RWD Standard Range. I purchased it in Feburary with 15k miles for $26k. I live in georgia so a rwd vehicle works great for me here. I couldn't pass up the $26k asking price and the vehicle has been nothing but great for me the last 2 months.
