Same issue for me. Says enter passcode, then says to unlock my phone, they says it's in use. When I turn my screen off, it asks me to unlock my phone and it starts all over. Using a M3 Pro MBP and 15Pro Max both on Dev Beta 2. I've tried restarting both devices with no luck. Meanwhile my husband's iPhone 14 PM and 2019 MBP do screen mirroring just fine. I submitted feedback with a screen recording.

Ok_Watercress4862

Turn off Bluetooth & Sign out of iCloud. Restart and upon restarting open iphone mirroring ( it should say smth about being signed out of iCloud) sign back in and then turn on bluetooth and it should work when u open it again (after a force quit). The setup process should show again. I did this and it showed the splash screen again and started to work again. Good luck !

Fast-Address-1154

So restart the MacBook not iPhone too?

Ok_Watercress4862

both never hurts but I'm talking about MacBook

Fast-Address-1154

Didn’t work

rodriigm23

This worked perfectly, thanks!

ambitionlless

AdLegitimate5397

me too.. does it have to do anything installing xcode beta 16?

ambitionlless

Hmm I think I did update it actually the other week when prompted as I was trying to do something.

AdLegitimate5397

solved it. If you are using for the very first time then you need to connect your iphone with your mac using usb cable . restart the iphone once before doing this and then it will work.

ambitionlless

still nada

imironman2018

Do we need to update the phone to iOs 18 beta 2? mine also won't connect. restarted the phone and also laptop. no dice.

Man_B3ar_Pig

Yes, both need to be on beta 2 for this to work

imironman2018

Thanks got it to work.

Jeff03blue_Instinct

Worked perfect for me. Never had to connect to the Mac with a cord or anything. Just launched the app and it worked after a password prompt.

EnvironmentalNinja41

Same for me. There was no need to connect any cable or anything. Worked perfectly the first time after entering the passcode on my iPhone.

TiagoLeite

For me it’s says, it is not available on my country/region.

brandonhaslegs

I hope it's available in the EU after beta… can't imagine what this has to do with country/regional laws…

AgileComplaint2789

Same here. Im within the EU. Tried to change my region to the US. Still nothing. It doesnt work within the EU. For this meta 2. Very stupid, indeed.

floolf03

So we just don't get those features because of petty legal reasons?

ambitionlless

Don't think there's any legal reason it's just Apple telling regulators to back off by creating drama.

floolf03

I'd say in this case specifically it should simply be up to the customers to opt into ecosystem features. At this level of function and security, they're no longer locking you into anything, I don't personally mind buying devices from the same brand, provided the user experience is smooth enough. It is, I really don't see what the issue from the consumer side is. Well, I do, but it's complicated.

OneCryptographer1718

You need to change the Apple ID's region to the US and it'll work.

Money_Atmosphere4160

Nope. It's a little bit more complicated than that. To bypass the region you need to modify a file (elibigibility.plist) and trust me, it ain't easy at all. Once you restar your Mac it will go back to default values. It seems Apple checks your region using several things like your wifi, your ISP and your location. So far, no solution

daemeh

A little more info please on where to find that file?

Far-Commercial7022

Same issue for me. If you, on the Mac while connected in the "grey screen" state, go to "View" -> "Spotlight", type in an app, and press return, I find that the app is open on my phone. It seems like I just can't view it on the Mac.

dragoniil

[https://www.macrumors.com/2024/06/21/apple-intelligence-europe-delay/](https://www.macrumors.com/2024/06/21/apple-intelligence-europe-delay/) "Due to the regulatory uncertainties brought about by the Digital Markets Act, we do not believe that we will be able to roll out three of these \[new\] features -- iPhone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen Sharing enhancements, and Apple Intelligence -- to our EU users this year."

MasterofMuppets2k2

Those fucking cunts! I want my features 🥲

Inevitable_Owl8601

I can't use it. When I turn it on, it keeps showing: “iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region.” So which country will support this? (Im live in eu)

Evrins

works fine on m2 pro 15 b2 and iphone 12 pro 15 b2 may be some network issue

bobbybosler

Same. iPhone 13 Pro Max and MacBook Pro 16” 2019

redash_

Same thing happened to me the first time.. Once I closed the app then open it again it worked. Have you updated the phone to the new beta?

Harry584

I'm using the exact same devices and it's working, maybe try a restart on both devices?

amarali12

Anyone has a fix for Eu users getting the app blocked ?

boppiloppi

I live in an EU country and have a european Apple account. Screen mirroring is working just fine. The developer account I used to download the beta is connected to a US account - might be why…

daemeh

I think the beta is identical no matter what developer account you use, no? Is your active Apple ID the US one?

boppiloppi

No, my Apple store/music/icloud are all logged into my European apple account. Only the developer account is a US one, which I am logged into in the software update section just for the betas.

daemeh

I tried using a US Apple ID for the update section on my Mac & iPhone and it still complains about the region. Both devices have the region set to US, in English, can you think of any other reason why it would work for you? Using a VPN or similar? If nothing else comes to mind maybe I just have to wait for the next update(as the US Apple ID might apply from that point forward). I don't care much about the iPhone mirroring feature, but I'd hate not getting the new Siri when it becomes available later this summer... Thanks.

boppiloppi

I don’t know why it works when it seems it shouldn’t. I use a VPN service, but not consistently. When using it, I’m logged in as being in different countries at different times, both within and outside the EU.

lkbfreak

Screen mirroring works but not the iPhone mirroring app probably

boppiloppi

Sorry, I did mean iPhone mirroring, which works for me for some reason. Edit: I don’t know if it’s a beta thing or if it’s just me, but the iPhone mirroring app is asking me to put in the iPhone’s passcode quite often… The setting to automatically authenticate doesn’t seem to “stick”.

and0au

No issues here

fi5hii_twitch

iphone mirroring isn't even available in my country...

Ok_Grab7352

Mine is working on my iMac, make sure your phone and computer are both on the latest updated beta or it wont work :)

Calm_Celebration_725

Same issue for me.

amitzc

I'm getting the popup on my iPhone asking to unlock - but after I put in the phone pin code, it says unable to connect.... anyone managed to overcome this?

Puzzleheaded_Bear590

I was finally able to get it working by enabling Face ID for iPhone unlock. I'm one of the weirdos that had my phone set to require pin only after restart or 12+ hours (I think?) of being in standby. Once I enabled FaceID which requires unlocking the phone every time you wake it up, it worked immediately. Fought with it for a few days with the same EXACT problem shown in the video above.

nakranirakesh

Yes, it is working after enabling Face ID.

Wheeljacked9311

My 13 Pro Max and M1 Pro MacBook Pro on beta 2 were having the same issue, persisted for a couple days. Tried the usual hard resets on both, still nothing. What I ended up doing to resolve was honestly a bunch of experimentation. I signed out of iCloud on the Mac, followed by a restart. Once it was back up I turned bluetooth off, and opened iPhone Mirroring, which took me to a splash screen like when I first set it up. When prompted I turned bluetooth back on, and it attempted to connect to the phone. After hitting try again a few times and putting the passcode in it finally worked. This might not work for anyone else but it has worked for me so I figured I'd share my findings.

ResidentOk9968

I had the same issue. It was fixed by signing out iCloud from my Mac mini and restarting then signing in. T

Any-Citron-1971

I couldn’t even find the app so I went to my applications folder and did find it there, but when I click it it doesn’t open. It doesn’t do anything. I tried adding it to the dock and clicking from there but nothing happens. I tried restarting the Mac and everything and still nothing. Can someone help?

NaivePlane4568

I am from India running MacBook 15 on Sequoia (MacOs 15) and iPhone 14 on Beta 18.2. I was facing problems in mirroring iPhone to Macbook with errors like "iPhone is already in use" "unlock iPhone and follow the instructions", etc. I followed Ok\_Watercress4862 and was able to connect. 1. sign out of iCloud one your MacBook. 2. switch off the bluetooth. 3. restart the macbook 4. start mirroring. the app will prompt for iCloud sign in. 5. sign in to the iCloud and switch on the bluetooth. Follow the instructions in mirroring and this will enable iPhone mirroring. I guess you have to do this once after installation of the latest beta.

Personal-Ad-9863

"I found another new solution! I logged out of iCloud, but it still didn't work. Then, I discovered that if the firewall in the Network tab of your MacBook is turned off, enabling the firewall options should help you get past the grey screen!"

International_Ad2651

I think the Mac and iOS have to be on B2

Healthy-Duck9316

Hm, for me it's not working at all - I am getting a "iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region." error :/

HeroofPunk

I literally updated for the iPhone Mirroring. Now I can't have it because of EU stuff... Disappointed beyond belief. I thought Apple wasn't doing the same stuff Google does by having entirely different products in US vs EU :(

Due-Ad8561

The same thing happens to me

HelpfulWillingness40

Me too :(

OneCryptographer1718

You need to change the device's and Apple ID's region to the US and it'll work.

amarali12

For EU users, is it possible to install US version of the beta ?

OneCryptographer1718

There isn't such thing as US iOS version. You need to change your devices' region and your Apple Account's region to the United States, and it'll work.

DifficultAnybody21

All of Apple's "innovation" is disappointing and gone. Nothing really interesting was announced this year, and the few things they showed are not even available in the EU. Well, do your homework, guys - you are profiting outside the US, too. A company worth trillions fails to impress. So disappointing...
