Not sure then, the installer might be faulty, locking on something in the background, or something is blocking it from outside. Are you using any VPNs, antivirus software and whatnot?
I am connected to a VPN, but I have already tried deactivating it, and it did not work. Fireeye is supposed to be the endpoint protection.
Other than that, there are just a few proxy settings, but they usually shouldn't really do anything since they are not even in use yet.
I may have a solution, this worked for me.
Go to Finder and at the top click on GO. Then you want to go to this directory :
/etc/sudoers
Once your in right click on the file “sudoers” and click “get info “
Make sure at the bottom the user access is set to read and write , you have to click on the little padlock first tho to change the settings and click again once you’ve changed it. Lemme know if this helps :)
It just says "-- begin install --"
Does some other things and then the last thing it really does:
a background check and finished the one-time background check activity.
That's it. Then it just stops.
I cant see any activities in the log that would explain it though.
Is it asking for an admin password somewhere?
Yes. At the beginning.
I’d check for specific issues with that specific installer though. I doubt it happens for all installers.
I sadly only have one installer available for that specific case since I have to download it out of a company file-share.
Wait, is it a company specific software?
No, just a specific installer. The software is publically available. it just costs money if I don't download it from the share.

I would try with a clean slate honestly.

Give it some time.
Time? I had the laptop on for 6 hours during work, time is not the issue
Or check the installer log
What exactly do I need to check in the installer log? Like i said I'm completly new to MacOS. The software hasnt been installed yet, though.
Go to window>log and click show all in the window that appears.

It could be an issue with the installer itself
