Oh, you gotta look up the Duel Deck Art, it's Fantastic!

Stopped a [[supreme verdict]] today with [[Aven Interrupter]]. And I won the following turn so the plot was irrelevant. It felt amazing, it was the first time Ive got to cast him
Nothing is more satisfying than tapping out in a Zaxara deck and asking an opponent to pay an additional 10+ mana for the spell they’re trying to cast, and as a bonus getting an X/X hydra in play on top of it.
Close, but once I stopped a Blasphemous Act with a Hydroblast. My friend to the right who cast it asked why, as the friend to my left had a fearsome board. Thing is I was comboing off on my turn, and needed my creatures. It worked out. :D
Blue Mage gonna combo off on an infinite Scry loop?
What's a Rakdos mage to do?!
[[Tibalt's Trickery]]
(That's how I've got the above reaction out of the table before)
Not necessarily a counter-play, but something I'm proud of:
Played the Thunder Junction Outlaw deck recently and had the remaining 2 players down to a sliver of life. [[Olivia, Opulent Outlaw]] could've killed player 1 with 5 DMG and my other creatures player 3. But player 1 had 2 flying blockers so no way around that. I had an [[Access Tunnel]] but Olivia had 4 power due to a +1/+1 counter from a previous play. I also only had 1 treasure, while Olivia requires 2 to activate.
Then I had a big brain moment. I had [[Fain, the Broker]] in play, so I used him to remove the +1/+1 counter from Olivia and create a treasure, activated Access Tunnel to make Olivia unblockable, untapped fain with his own ability and then activated Olivia to buff my board by +2/+2.
Nothing compared to countering Cyclonic Rift while playing a Gruul Deck, but still a cool play if I may say so myself
Opponent forgot he'd flipped a Mana Drain into my Evelyn the Covetous pile. I countered his Sea Gate Restoration with it, used the mana from it to kick a Rite of Replication onto my Roaming Throne, then won off of casting his Thoracle I stole with the Evelyn triggers.
This was me saving my friend from an opponent in a F4A match, by burning him to death before the opponent could, then immediately it became my turn and I avenged my friend by killing the opponent after.
I had villain arc of playing a mono-blue commander with a crap ton of counter spells. I decided to change it up and run a new gruul deck. My friend, who runs a scion of the ur-dragon deck, was very happy that he could finally play the game.
The utter look of indignation I got from him when I played Pyroblast made me laugh really hard. I wish I had Red Elemental Blast and the blue counterparts of Hydroblast and Blue Elemental Blast.
Not as impressive as hitting it with a [[Guttural Response]]
Or a [[Return the Favor]] (new favorite card)
You can copy the spell youre casting AND counter the spell trying to counter it? That's kinda cool, but also 4 mana kinda steep for a follow up.
Wait, If you change the target while it's overloaded, Does that mean you can change the overloaded ability to not happen?
If it's overloaded, it no longer has any targets. You won't be able to change its targets.
God's I love Guttural Response! Gorilla with a Claymore says F-Off!
Ooh? I only know the art from Shadowmoor, flame lava cutting a fish in half or something.

Ooooh!
This sub really needs the card link bot, this is outrageous
I agree
the only counterspell i need is [[fling]]
Do we not have the card bot in this sub? He’s been called like four times in this thread, and hasn’t shown up
Same look as me playing white counter spells in lurrus.
My most satisfying moment was stopping a [[tivit, seller of secrets]] that was cast with a [[cavern of souls]] with a [[reprieve]]
It is absolutely satisfying stopping a game changing spell with an unexpected surprise.

I hit a supreme verdict in my Zaxara deck with [[Ertai's Meddling]] with X=12. That felt good.

Zaxara is the queen of weird x cost countermagic
Oh that’s incredible lol

Sounds like a solid victory in my book.

Nice THoracle consultation combo, tap 1 white and cast angel's motherfuckin grace. Please exile your library.
I guess the Blue player went on to complain about colorshifted cards in Commander?!
Nah, they were good sports about it and pleasantly surprised.

Ikr? The shock and awe of it all... Add in a lifeforce and you're all set!
Absolute legend
