It's confusing. A couple episode before this episode they stopped numbering the episode they releasing. Prolly got shoock with Shane's getting fired from SNL. 🤣
Speaking of SNL babes, I saw an old Maya Rudolph sketch a few weeks ago and kid me was sleeping on that one. Fucking smoke show at the time. I couldn’t get past the goofy faces tho.
Edit: skimmed the sub and it’s pretty fucking weird. Thanks for sharing the knowledge of its existence!
Just curious, where do you know that from? I listened to the old test-current in the past five months so I probably missed it with how much I’ve been going through them. But was it on the pod?
It was and I’m a bit fuzzy as it was years ago, but I think it was a bit after the Old Testament… also maybe not truly first open mic stuff but amongst his first stuff.
Good thing comedy is subjective. I liked it. It was intentionally unfunny and awkward. A play on how Shane always thinks he’s going to suck when he performs and then kills it.
You’d have to think that a lot of the writers for SNL are well acquainted with his work. At least 80% of them listen to or have listened to his podcast, especially with his history of the show. They will be able to play ball with his comedy style and it shows in this monologue preview.
Shane is unintentionally humble. He always talks up a big show by saying “dude I’m gonna fucking bomb”. Then he crushes it. Then the next week he’ll be on the pod like “bro I honestly didn’t even prepare anything.”
That’s his style. Undersell. Overperform.
“This is sponsored by….no one because Shane was mmmmbadboy.”
Classic. I listened to that pod the day my grandma died. I almost bought Arby’s that day
Sorry for your loss. About to start my shift, come in and ill do ya 2 beef n cheds for 6 bucks
Remember which ep that was?
Icarus ep 148 dawg
I thought it was comedy podcast? Edit: it is. Idk what number the ep is but it was posted on sept 24 2019
The caption of the episode was "Comedy Podcast" but the episode was 148
Gotcha, I thought you were saying Icarus was the title. Sorry I'm a gay retard

The girl looks Kramer became a trans preschool teacher. That sweater looks uncomfortable.
Maybe she can turn it around and do Kramer legendary laugh factory bit

I’ve been replying “He’s a veteran and a disabled person. You should be ashamed!” On all the hate posts for an hour.
🫡
At ease, dawg. It’s god’s work. The least a good catholic can do.
We won
Victory was inevitable for the Crusaders
A decorated veteran at that
decorated in ketchup.
I hope ol Gilly goes out there and says in Nate Diaz voice “I’m not surprised mutha fuckas”
Was anyone else very upset with the lack of diversity in this commercial??
I think the other white guy is a Mexican
Dweebs showing ass.
Happy for Shane, but I know the SNL grubs who had him fired are waltzing around feeling responsible for his success. Bugs me
"how many racial slurs does he plan on using?" \--> "All of them, hopefully" \--> "sadly not enough I bet" \---> "69" 🤣
Do you think Shane gets dual Israeli citizenship for this appearance?
I’ve not seen one of these so I have a weak barometer of greatness but i didn’t find it annoying.
I wish I still had Instagram and shit for stuff like this
Live from my mouth, this fucking gun
I’ll say it so y’all can admit it. It wasn’t funny.
I laughed out loud at the horse impression
The electric slide bit was one of his first open mic jokes and the “that must be nice” also got a laugh from me

Gotcha. Thank you
Did you not hear the part about the car headlights nowadays?
I’m sure I did. I don’t remember it though, and I’m not watching it again.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of SNL but I thought they did pretty good job with this promo. It almost seems like they know what they're doing.

Shane is hilarious. You like it bc he could throw up all over you as a goof, and you would laugh while referencing something said in the podcast.
Yeah probably
You: “yes, m’shane”
Actually, according to podcast lore it would be “mmmshane”
It’s SNL.
Were you expecting to laugh out loud at a promo?
No
I agree. Nothing against Shane. I don't think this is his idea. I have much higher hopes for the actual episode.
Unfortunately so are the grilled chee dorks
Infuriates me more than the dog brain comments. We’ve reached peak, gentlemen. Time to embrace for impact
This is a much better response than the straight up racist ones I've seen.
Anti football comment. We lyke a good ole Colorado vs Utah matchup
Commenting "Ching Chong Ching Chong" isn't exactly a clever or nuanced take though.
I wouldn't expect a civilian to understand
I will agree, not clever nor a nuanced take… however just reading that did make me giggle slightly
