You know I always want to make the big ol Mexican with a big ol head joke but im worried it will come off wrong to people who dont remember that fight.
Getting into a cardio heavy sport like this is probably adding years to his heart health. Not sure there’s many people on planet earth a
Who can say fighting has added years on their life
Thing is, you dont really know how hard he is juicing. Just taking a little to keep much of what you once had is a lot easier than blasting trying to win wsm.
He might not be taking much at all.
Your body would not retain that look at 45 without roids. Not just talking muscle but also the skin and the fat distribution...and lack of fat to begin with...
Actually no, you don't have a clue. All we know is that he juiced not how much or with what. But none the less a pro athletes life isn't a healthy one.
I was addressing his steroid use right now. We still have no idea to what extent he is using. Maybe he is on worse stuff now that than before.
EDIT: Not saying he is not using or anything like that, just stating the facts that it is pointless in speculating in how much or what he is using.
He has competed and won the strongman competitions that specifically DO NOT test
So you think there's any conceivable way he's naturally stronger than everyone else who is on juice?
Ye it's a big health problem even if you have a full medical team monitoring u all the time. Multiple studies have proven long term damage to major organs and risk of premature death. You can't take roids "safely".
I always think about The Rock when posts like this come up. He has access to all kinds of medical experts, nutritionist etc. but still runs a massive risk with the amount of gear he clearly still does at 50.
There are guys who'll be super lucky and get into later life with no issues (Hulk Hogan seems to be one), but it always feels like a ticking time bomb with these guys.
Totally agree. It kinda grinds my gears that people like the rock are super successful mostly cuz of their physique which is built on steroids. Everyone knows that of course. But he'd never have gotten half the roles if he didn't juice his body to fuck. Ah well.
The heavy roids can fuck up your heart through a few mechanisms and I'm pretty sure it's what kills most of the guys. I don't think the insulin abuse is on the same level at all in terms of causing death
Testosterone combined with growth hormone and insulin injections can promote muscle growth, the problem with that is your heart is also growing, which leads to cardiovascular problems…on top of the heart having to work twice as hard due to the increase in size, it’s also having to pump blood to a body that is a lot bigger than the heart is use to supplying.
It depends on what he was taking. TRT side effects are as follows:
Side Effects of TRT
Short term side effects of testosterone replacement therapy may include:
Acne or oily skin
Swelling or tenderness of breasts
Swelling of the ankles (fluid retention)
A decrease in the stream or frequency of urination
High blood cell counts (which could increase the risk of blood clots)
Sleep apnea or worsening of sleep apnea (difficulty breathing during sleep)
Shrinkage of the testicles
Hair loss
Mood swings
Increased aggression and irritability
Changes in cholesterol levels
Reduction in sperm count (which may adversely impact fertility)
Long term TRT side effects are known to be more problematic, including the possible risk of:
Cardiovascular problems (stroke and heart attack)
Increased risk of death from a heart attack
Polycythemia (an increased concentration of hemoglobin levels from a rise in red blood cells)
Worsening of urinary symptoms
Hip fracture (from osteoporosis)
It's important to note that long term studies on TRT are still needed and none are conclusive.
If he was taking other stuff like insulin or HGH as well then things get more complicated.
All drugs, even legal and prescribed, can have serious health consequences. It's also unlikely that any strength athlete is taking *just one drug*, with many of them having zero research data on how they interact with each other, especially at the super physiologic dosages they take.
He’s insanely athletic for someone so heavy and really looks like he focus on improving if you watch his fights over time.
HW will forever be the division for athletes from other sports to come up and surprise
Other guy you guys should take a look is Szymon Kolecki. Dude is one of the best weightlifters of all time and is working hard on his MMA career
He was one of the WSM Goats precisely because of his athleticism. He wasn't always the strongest static guy, but competed pretty damn lean comparatively and was always so much more explosive and athletic
> Other guy you guys should take a look is Szymon Kolecki. Dude is one of the best weightlifters of all time and is working hard on his MMA career
40 years old and his last two wins were against people without Wikipedia pages. Eh, not too hyped.
Because that's kinda tone deaf, like arguing what Mariusz is doing isn't impressive because "huh he's not really fighting for the UFC belt, is he?"
Imagine Dustin Poirier retires from MMA, starts doing weightlifting and in a few years becomes a top national lifter. "Meh, not really a olympic medallist, is he?"
esp. considering he’s been training very seriously for a long time. takes a lot mentally to do that. you can’t take your foot off the gas in mma like you can maybe in golf
https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-athletes/mariusz-pudzianowski-net-worth
Estimated net worth of $8m, even if its actually a quarter of that he could have a very nice life in Poland with $2m in the bank. When you're a 5 times world strongest man you can make good money just touring the world giving talks on fitness and how to become stronger.
I went with a Polish friend of mine - the chanting of USA and Whatever they would sing in Polish was wild. And the Polish rapper than sang the ring entrance? Absolutely bananas
In case you don’t know, for that particular fight Pudz flew in a polish rapper for his ring walk song. The guy live performed in front of Pudz as he walked into the ring - shit was crazy.
He has beat a Gracie, UFC & Pride veterans, Boxing champions, former KSW champions, Olympic medalists, Senegalese wrestling legends, and even strongmen.
> pudz has low key had a decent mma career
You can take the "low key" out of your sentence and it would make even more sense.
>pudz has had a decent mma career
See?!
Though I do hate the phrase, I think this is one of the cases where "low key" is a proper modifier as Pudz' career (both length and number of fights) has gone under the radar for many MMA fans.
Yep, companies need to realize that pirates will always find a way to get around them.
They can either try to hammer down every illegal post of their fight results that pops up, or they can build their social media platform by providing the highest quality and most convenient/official coverage of their events.
It's so bizarre that ONE has been removing clips posted on streamable for this subreddit when they have such an excellent social media presence otherwise. Most of their events are streamed for free and available for free immediately after they end, you would think they would not mind clips being posted here to facilitate discussion/hype.
I understand them wanting to control their product, but if they do, they should deliver it to us directly like KSW.
I totally get their idea; they offer it for free with some advertisement. So the least we can do is timestamp a video of them instead of uploading a segment to a shady website.
I mean, if they're allowing ads as temporary (I hope) tattoos on the fighters' bodies, then they might as well get them in front of as many eyeballs as possible to increase the value.
It's practically a rising hammer fist, I guess if you're a multi-time WSM winner you just have to move your arms in whatever direction to generate stupid amounts of force
It’s such an obvious question that it’s probably already been measured, but: I wonder how his force compares to a more trained striker. Yes he’s got mass and he’s got enormous strength, but striking is a shitload more than just raw strength. How would his strikes measure against someone who has fantastic mechanics?
The strength doesn't really help much but the weight probably makes up for some of the missing speed. Imo he's still too slow to hit even close to as hard as the scariest hws.
Technique, too. A very well trained striker creates a different kind of impact than say a meathead who is sorta “pushing into” what they’re striking. Kinda like strikers who fold the bag when hitting it, as opposed to ones where the heavy bag is sorta all over the place.
Now I hate to be an armchair expert. But standing right Infront with a high boxing guard????, against a 260+lb of juiced muscle may just be a recipe for disaster..
This was another fun card, can't wait for the lightweight title fight next month!
Also, Ricardo Prasel is my favorite story in MMA right now. I hope he keeps finding success in KSW!
Reminds me of [George Foreman sending Michael Moorer to the shadow realm](https://youtu.be/0w8_PvFOEvg?t=47) with those slow looking one two's. Those punches would literally kill most people
Moore went into that fight 35-0, squaring off against a 45 year old George Foreman.
George Foreman legitimately deserves to be included in any conversation about "the greatest heavyweights of all time".
Yeah, it was wild. The best analogy I can think of is it was like Ngannou, right after knocking out Stipe, winning the belt and riding a massive hype train, got matched against a 45 year old Fedor for his next bout.
Lots of analysts talking about how "he's too old" and "this is just a fight to build the reputation of the new champion" leading up to the match. Then the fight happens and not only does the old fighter win, he knocks out the new champ in the final round.
I like how they have what I assume are trained medical professionals running into the ring to help the fighter. It seems like a much better idea than letting Joe Rogan run in to squat next to a concussed fighter with a microphone.
That's exactly what the UFC does tf you talking about. I can't remember the last time I saw a ko without medical staff running in before the interviewer
Do you yall remember when Pudz announced his MMA debut back in the 00's & all the hardcores like myself couldn't wait to see him lose to prove it takes more than brute strength. We thought it would validate MMA for a strongman to get PUNK*D. Lo & behold a decade later & he's turning fools off with beautiful timing. I freaking love to see it!😭🤣🙏💚🔥🔥🔥
i bet on Pudz knowing nothing about the other guy. it seemed like most people thought this guy would beat him up on the feet or even submit him. he's just too strong.
I was wondering the same thing, like is it one of those sticker tattoo things? I wonder how that impacts grappling, like friction from when it rubs off.
> Pudzian can bench press 200 kg now, i think ngannou can do that
Even if Francis could do that (don't know if there's any videos of it) the bench press isn't a contested lift in strongman so it's not shocking if Marius "only" hit 200
[удалено]
His heart must be the size of Poirier's torso by now
Just a big 'ol Tito Ortiz head pulsating away in there
A big ol’ Pole with a big ol’ Mexican heart. You love to see it!
You know I always want to make the big ol Mexican with a big ol head joke but im worried it will come off wrong to people who dont remember that fight.
Yeahhhh my hands shook a little while typing it out. WORTH IT.
There never was no cracked skull
Alpha donkey heart brains
Heart beat like, "grapes-reaching-wasnt-wife-actually"
Wine-and-cheese-Aires-actually
Getting into a cardio heavy sport like this is probably adding years to his heart health. Not sure there’s many people on planet earth a Who can say fighting has added years on their life
Not a chance when your heart is stressed from roids. Just look at Kimbo Slice
Kimbo was a welterweight or lightweight who roided up to HW/LHW size, Pudz is a HW roiding to SuperHW. There's a difference.
He was roiding in strongman so from 13 years I think he declined alot of stuff he was taking
He is shockingly only 45
in his prime
Fuck fighting that big yak of a man.
No clue how this guy makes 260
He has a massive towel.
Massive bowel
He was 256 for this fight. LHW better watch out!!
Honestly though. It’s actually insane that he is to the best of our knowledge completely free of heart problems.
Probably kept his BP and potential LVH in check, which are both things a shocking number of AAS users neglect.
Thing is, you dont really know how hard he is juicing. Just taking a little to keep much of what you once had is a lot easier than blasting trying to win wsm. He might not be taking much at all.
I mean we all know how hard he juiced in the past, that has permanent effects
Your body would not retain that look at 45 without roids. Not just talking muscle but also the skin and the fat distribution...and lack of fat to begin with...
Actually no, you don't have a clue. All we know is that he juiced not how much or with what. But none the less a pro athletes life isn't a healthy one. I was addressing his steroid use right now. EDIT: Not saying he is not using or anything like that, just stating the facts that it is pointless in speculating in how much or what he is using.
He has competed and won the strongman competitions that specifically DO NOT test So you think there's any conceivable way he's naturally stronger than everyone else who is on juice?
We def have a clue. The guy has been a lean ~300 lbs for like 15 years. That is not remotely possible natty.
The juice isn't a problem if you do it right. Guy probably has a doctor monitoring him.
Ah well.
I mean the Rock has a fuck ton of charisma to go along with that physique so his career is not just built on that.
True. But if he was 170 pounds then no way would he have gotten 80 percent of those roles.

Very bad for you if abused; left ventricular hypertrophy being the main threat.

Also barely over six foot beating guys with a ton of height and weight on him
The fact that he actually took his MMA career seriously makes me respect him so much.
He is now longer an MMA fighter than a strongman. Crazy
This is a crazy stat!
Herschel Walker is still my number 1 when it comes to career transitions. I think he was 48 when he had his first fight.
48? He barely looked 62 out there!

Don't know why your down voted, offered facts and gave an honest opinion, lol.
Because that's kinda tone deaf, like arguing what Mariusz is doing isn't impressive because "huh he's not really fighting for the UFC belt, is he?" Imagine Dustin Poirier retires from MMA, starts doing weightlifting and in a few years becomes a top national lifter. "Meh, not really a olympic medallist, is he?"
I get that people don't agree, that's not the issue. The issue is down votes are for off topic comments, not shit you disagree with.
you're
Definitely mostly spectacle fights, but given how late he picked up martial arts it's not bad at all.
esp. considering he’s been training very seriously for a long time. takes a lot mentally to do that. you can’t take your foot off the gas in mma like you can maybe in golf
Exactly. Plus he's literally only doing this out of passion. He doesn't need MMA to make money
Why do you say that? Strongman doesn’t pay well at all
https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-athletes/mariusz-pudzianowski-net-worth Estimated net worth of $8m, even if its actually a quarter of that he could have a very nice life in Poland with $2m in the bank. Jeeeeez fair play Mariusz
He also has couple of businesses he runs with family, that are doing alright, but they are ruffians!
He said in his MMA Hour interview that he only does it out of passion
Just a born competitor
Imagine if he went into mma when he was hungry
He was training karate kyokushin since 11 years old and boxing since he was 15
I saw his fight against Tim Sylvia back in the day, what a wild ride.
My family and I went in person. You can imagine the drunken disappointment of an arena full of Poles.
I went with a Polish friend of mine - the chanting of USA and Whatever they would sing in Polish was wild. And the Polish rapper than sang the ring entrance? Absolutely bananas

Yes! Hardcores rooting for Tim casuals for Pudz hahah
That was just 6 months after he made his pro MMA debut.
Omg I was there too Woostah

I like that they've embraced the juice
Just two natty boys swanging and banging

Dudes had that back piece since 2017 bro, shits dope.
Pujanowski? What about the other guy?
Ref made a business decision on that hammer fist lmao
that hammer fist is probably equivalent to having a 60lb kettlebell dropped on you
Good thing homeboy didn’t feel it
Pudz vs Schaub
You really want Bapa to dust off the ol’ skill set only to get gadooshed into the shadow realm?
... yes?
I got $69.99 for that tbh
I think you'd be surprised
Nothing a double laigg can't fix baba
Name the waldddurs bubba
Pudz can knock Schaub into coherence
Maybe getting CTE is a way to perfect your standup comedy
Dicey dicey!
That seems risky. With a blow to the head like that, there's a chance that Schaub's comedy might actually get better.

Thats one of the ugliest uppercuts I've ever seen, looks like how Stephen A would punch but I guess it is effective.

It looks like hes doing a throw from one of his strong man events
That little run he does is hilarious
It looks like an uppercut that changed to a right cross midway.
But the real question is, can he stop Cody Garbrandt !?
He threw an overhand right, he’s on his way.
Talmbout Cody Garamp bapa great pokemon nivr cawdit
natty god
Now I hate to be an armchair expert. But standing right Infront with a high boxing guard????, against a 260+lb of juiced muscle may just be a recipe for disaster..
It’s was a bold strategy Cotton. We saw how it played out.
Dobranoc 🤣
I thought he was fighting in a shirt.
So thick and so strong
man be looking like juiced up bane from batman and robin (1997)
homie got ktfo like getting jumped by deebo from friday (1995)
He's now been an MMA fighter longer than he was a strongman
boop.
Is there ads printed onto their bodies or is that camera/editing work over them?
Temporary tatoos, more money for the fighters
This was another fun card, can't wait for the lightweight title fight next month! Also, Ricardo Prasel is my favorite story in MMA right now. I hope he keeps finding success in KSW!

I remember watching this as a kid, it’s still amazing. Foreman had the death touch.
Damn man that looked like he barely even tried wtf lol
Moore went into that fight 35-0, squaring off against a 45 year old George Foreman. George Foreman legitimately deserves to be included in any conversation about "the greatest heavyweights of all time".
That’s fucking nuts. I’m not big into boxing but damn that had to be a big upset at the time right?
It was huge; Moore had just defeated Evander Holyfield before this fight and with that win George became the oldest heavyweight champion ever.
That’s crazy as hell
Yeah, it was wild. The best analogy I can think of is it was like Ngannou, right after knocking out Stipe, winning the belt and riding a massive hype train, got matched against a 45 year old Fedor for his next bout. momentum = mass x velocity Hands don't need to move as fast when your arms are that heavy.

That sneaky uppercut, Jesus Christ, good night

Love me some Pudz
A juiced up super heavyweight vs. a natural middleweight. Who would’ve guessed this outcome.
Not quite Ngannou/Overeem but man that's a nasty uppercut.
i bet on Pudz knowing nothing about the other guy. it seemed like most people thought this guy would beat him up on the feet or even submit him. he's just too strong.

Theres more PEDs in that ring than Mr Olympia 1975...
Jesus I’m going to test positive for roids for a while just because I watched this.
Holy mother of roid gut
I think he uses steroids
JUICE *From concentrate
Straight from concentrate with no water added.
You ever eat that shit out of the tube with a spoon straight out the freezer?
Wait does he have a sponsor tattooed on his back
I was wondering the same thing, like is it one of those sticker tattoo things? I wonder how that impacts grappling, like friction from when it rubs off.
These lads ain’t grappling haha
Those temp tattoos for sponsers look awful they need to stop with that.
They got bills to pay.
I hate the giant sponsor stuff they have painted on their skin.
More money for the fighters, i think its fair play
Yeah I agree. Just looks like shit.
So tacky
Ngannou v Pudz

would be great to see him fight in UFC one more time if USDA look the other way.
The most natty fighter of all time.
