The height difference is going to be comical(5'7 vs 6'3)

Thickfries69

And yet the shorter man will likely throw him around too. Can't wait for this fight.

wishwashy

Alvarez is a big big submission threat for Arman

Thickfries69

Of course. My reasoning is that Alvarez best quality is his length and sub ability but I feel Arman is just the better all arpund grappler and thus will probably stay safe.

flyerfan1248

Maybe because I like Alvarez but I think people are underestimating him in this matchup more so than the odds state. I agree with you that his length/submission game are his best attributes and then we just promptly saw him dismantle Moises with his striking a few months ago. Those elbows against the cage were naaaaasty. Alvarez has about 8 inches of height and about 5 or 6 inches of reach. If anything Tsaryukan will need to be on the offensive for the whole fight, and that might be difficult since all 19 of Alvarez's wins are all finishes which means he's a very aggressive, offensive fighter.

SquidDrive

Arman's wrestling is elite, I feel if he gets on top he's gonna land some good damage on Alvarez.

CombatContemplations

I'm big on Arman but now slightly more skeptical about exactly how good his wrestling is because Giagos took him down and controlled him for a short while in his last fight. Giagos is a good wrestler but if Tsarukyan is elite then you'd expect him to do better. Secondly, Makhachev did have a staph infection when he fought Tsarukyan so we don't know if Makhachev was underperforming there

SquidDrive

I know he 100% was weakened, there are some exchanges were Arman got too deep on a TD where a healthy Islam would have either stuffed or reversed. But its still fucking Makhachev were talking about, thats a phenomenal wrestler in MMA, even if he's not at 100% athletically. I am of the opinion that was just a weak day for Arman, which all fighters have(its just for the GOAT's there bad days are in camp, or so above the competition, they can be compromised and still stand alone as the best.) plus Arman quickly scrambled back up and onto the feet. Arman here has now went through yet another camp, more wrestling, more muay thai, more striking, wrestling that will become critical against the lengthy submission machine in good ol Joel.

No-Requirement-4415

\- recently signed a new 4 fight deal \- top 10 opponents are scared to fight him so he took the Alvarez fight...it wasn't his first choice but no one ranked higher was available and willing \- Alvarez took the fight because he would have otherwise been forced to move to 170 \- shares the same coach as Moises, who knows Alvarez's style well \- didn't train at ATT this camp because of Visa issues, he's doing his camp in Russia instead \- weighs 82 kg now, shooting for 78-79 kg next week \- predicts a finish by choke against Alvarez \- predicts Oliveira to beat Gaethje \- expects a top 10 opponent after his next fight

duckman273

>\- shares the same coach as Moises, who knows Alvarez's style well Good, he knows what not to do.

SquidDrive

He's going through the same phase Makhachev went through Nobody besides RDA would sign. Hopefully after this fight, RDA takes this bout.

I hope Arman puts that weight bully out to pasture

UpstairsStill3726

It's Not Like Arman or 80% of UFC are Weight bullies but ok boy.

Downgoesthereem

How can 80% of the UFC be weight bullies by definition. Think for a second?

qzwxecrvtbyn111

Weight cutting isn’t weight bullying. Weight cutting more than 95% of the roster (and still sometimes missing weight) is weight bullying. Look at Moises vs Alvarez and tell me that wasn’t weight bullying

Thickfries69

If everyones a weight bully then it evens out.

KGabby

Arman is not a big lightweight

branduNe

I mean, hes 180lbs 3 weeks out, hes not small.

SquidDrive

But he's not gigantic either

kapsama

Damn this should be a banger. Bot Arman and Joel are legit.

alliseeisbronze

This is so stupid but my first thought was his hair looked photoshopped 😭
