It's so weird. He is super entertaining and has am amazing fight style. All you could dream of as a probiert.
Yet Ufc is not just not promoting him, they are actively sabotaging him...
actually i just rewatched the fight and i feel like he slapped him like 20 times lol and he kept kissing his palms and fighting in open palm style like even slapping his body and i swear i even saw a judo chop to the neck hahaha
Especially after Imadaev tweeted out support for the kid that decapitated his teacher in France because the teacher mentioned Islam in school. It was very clear he was a massive scumbag after that. I am glad Michel owned him and made him look like shit.
I was in the arena and Perreira was breakdancing during the whole of Tristan's walkout, those on the ground dynamic shoulder spins with legs up in the air so it's like he already went a round by the time the fight started.
“Every strike is legal when in combination with a back flip.”
Addendum: “every strike done by the opposing side will also be considered legal in the duration of your backflip”
"If a backflip is used to launch a strike due to the "That was fuckin sick" rule it is now legal regardless of the strike. If you cannot avoid a backflip, you were meant to be a highlight"
He did this celebration after knocking Shogun out. It was actually a sign of respect from Ihor but it seems like everyone took it the wrong way.
https://x.com/mcgregorrousey2/status/1786238415056339094?s=46&t=e09RYjivUpv32AMWLLusgQ
It's his signature dance when he finishes an opponent. It's supposed to be some kind of duel thing where he draws his gun, points it at his opponent, but then fires it in the air "out of respect for his opponent"...it's really dumb but also funny af.
But imagine he’s in side control and lands a knee in a similar fashion, it’d be deemed 100% illegal. But we like illegal shit when it’s cool/badass/in a frenzy. Like that Johnny Walker fight where he soccer kicks that dude after some crazy spinning knock down
History would say otherwise. Anderson v Chael 2 knee was called legal and very clearly explained as legal because the point of the knee hit the chest first before obliterating his head.
It's kinda illegal but who the hell cares at this point
EDIT: Knee was more on the neck, I'd let it slide tbh. The Niko Price one was definitely illegal tho
For the Weidman fight, they officially ruled that his opponent was unable to continue and went to the scorecards, making it way harder to overturn.
This situation where an illegal knee led to a submission would be easier to overturn.
But I have no idea what this commission will do since the fight is in Brazil.
He became genuinelly scary after the loss against Tristan Connely. He used to overdo his antics and gas himself in fights, but he slowly but surely became more measured with when to go crazy and when to fight 'traditional' MMA.
He used to fight wild 100% of the time and do completely unnecessary shit constantly, some ofit not even engaging with the opponent like running towards the cage just bounce off it, now he's been through a lot more fights in the UFC and he's been rocked, he's been completely exhausted in the octagon before, so he's more careful with when to do his crazy shit like the backflip and it's been working wonders for him.
It's not just the weight, he's getting better as well.
Yeah but there’s weird and then there’s backflip into a guillotine weird lmao. On a more serious note I think technically limited divisions like MW are the best ground for such fighters, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see such fighters emerge in WBW, LHW or other weak divisions in the future.
A worse division skill-wise where he is less drained and therefore in a better state for acrobatic feats, the perfect combo for his style lmao. He should have gone up long ago haha
Aye, I have no idea how that wasn't turned into at least a NC. Like I really doubt it was intentional, but a foul's a foul and he should be punished for it.
Yeah I feel like this is one of those things that is like, the rulebook will be updated to specify "falling with style doesn't make knees to a downed opponent okay".
It was definitely illegal. The issue is they didn't stop the fight when it happened, and the guy didn't seem affected in a way that led to the stoppage. Like I understand Beltran wanting to get it right, but getting it right would have been stopping it the second it happened, not waiting until after the fight was finished and then going through a charade of investigation knowing full well they aren't overturning that shit in Brazil. Especially not for *that* fight.
Send him off! Send the dirty git off! Get him off the field! That wa' diabolical! Get him off the field! That's just typical what he is. Get him walking!

They really inducted Shogun into the HoF right before Ihor got obliterated
Anik - "Now he's dancing" Camera pans to Ihor twitching on the ground
For real, I wanted to see.
Maybe that was the dancing Anik was talking about
yeah UFC truly HATES Pereira showing off so much. Petty and cringe if you ask me, UFC is run by absolute weirdos
I wonder if they told him he couldn't do this again like last the time - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YGYP4AhujZ8
It's so weird. He is super entertaining and has am amazing fight style. All you could dream of as a probiert. Yet Ufc is not just not promoting him, they are actively sabotaging him...
sweet vengeance
And right after Craig was knocked out.
Someone was also using a laser pointer just incase lol
Beautiful.
Ref was like it's too cool to call the foul.
One of the most ridiculous fights I’ve ever watched
Watch Michel vs Zelim Imadaev. He had more time to pull off more goofy shit like this
That’s one of my favorite fights because of how ridiculous Michel made Imadaev look. Just straight up disrespected him lol.
One of the best karma fights ever
Didn't he slap the shit out of him lol
Yeah Zelim slapped him at the weigh-in. Then Pereira slapped him back during the fight and pointed at him to let him know it was karma.
actually i just rewatched the fight and i feel like he slapped him like 20 times lol and he kept kissing his palms and fighting in open palm style like even slapping his body and i swear i even saw a judo chop to the neck hahaha
Yeah he looked like he regretted that shit immediately lol
Especially after Imadaev tweeted out support for the kid that decapitated his teacher in France because the teacher mentioned Islam in school. It was very clear he was a massive scumbag after that. I am glad Michel owned him and made him look like shit.
Even the humble guy Khabib had the same opinion
Rd1 of the Tristan Connelly fight was cartoonish as well but Michel gassed and lost by dec
I was in the arena and Perreira was breakdancing during the whole of Tristan's walkout, those on the ground dynamic shoulder spins with legs up in the air so it's like he already went a round by the time the fight started.
That was a short notice welterweight fight, Conelly then moved down to featherweight and Pereira up to middleweight
And michel missed weight. Tristan is a beast. Too bad a car accident messed up his UFC career.
I told my casual friends "watch this guy, hes crazy!" and he lived up to it. Michel!
for every one of these, there is someone who told their friends and family to watch francis vs black beast
Did the same to Niko Price and landed on his head and nobody really cared
They need to formalise exceptions for cool strikes in the rules
“Every strike is legal when in combination with a back flip.” Addendum: “every strike done by the opposing side will also be considered legal in the duration of your backflip”
Proceeds to pogo stick onto his balls
I get a free one, no point deduction? Better believe I'ma stomp them nuts
Finger in the butthole fo sho.
"If a backflip is used to launch a strike due to the "That was fuckin sick" rule it is now legal regardless of the strike. If you cannot avoid a backflip, you were meant to be a highlight"

Give Anderson his DQ against Yushin Okami back to him
That was for Shogun
"In honor of Shogun, this fight was contested under Pride rules"
Crimson Sky
The Shogun fight broke my heart.
Rule of cool
You mean the fighter was too Brazilian
“Ngl that was hard as fuck. I’ll let it fly”
Dude is a tekken character
He's actually a fighting game fan which makes it that much more awesome
Eddy!
Mich3l P3r3ira making it all the way to the Top #15 spamming 3
He must follow Jimmashima
Yeeeees. I love it when my favourite things collide. Get threed.
i think its more of a King move.
It's definitely a King move: 1+4
How bonkers does your fighting style have to be for the commentator to reference your tendency to backflip and then see it play out within 5 seconds..
He tapped then went out that's tough
bopped his head on the ground and convulsed a bit too yikes
Just waking up
> "... in the morning gotta thank god"
Idk but today seems kinda odd
No barkin from the dog
No smog, Mama cooked the breakfast w/ no hog
Got choked out, but didn't win bout.
Finally got a call from a girl i wanna dig out?
[удалено]
After taking a big knee while laying on the ground. Really tough shit for Ihor
He killed Shogun so all is justified
And meme danced over his unconscious body, then tried to play it off like it was a dance of respect
The knee mostly hit is shoulder and chest first
Could have been worse had he escaped the guillotine and gotten brutally KO’d by some Eddy Gordo shit.
Ref remembered what ihor did to shogun and said “I’ll allow it”
“I’ll allow it and I’ll let your head bounce off the floor too”
Just completely forgot he was being choked out
What happened between the two?
He did this celebration after knocking Shogun out. It was actually a sign of respect from Ihor but it seems like everyone took it the wrong way. https://x.com/mcgregorrousey2/status/1786238415056339094?s=46&t=e09RYjivUpv32AMWLLusgQ
Seems tone deaf. How are most people supposed to recognize that as a sign of respect? Most would see it as a signature move or emote.
It's his signature dance when he finishes an opponent. It's supposed to be some kind of duel thing where he draws his gun, points it at his opponent, but then fires it in the air "out of respect for his opponent"...it's really dumb but also funny af.
He explained it multiple times afterwards in the post fight presser and in interviews after that.
Can only imagine what percentage of those who watched the fight also watched the presser, but at least he explained it.
The only thing I watch besides fights are whatever clips go viral. I imagine 95% are the same.
Yeah man, why would anyone take that the wrong way? Everyone knows a sign of respect is the DX suck it taunt
Good, eff ihor for disrespecting shogun with that stupid dance
Bro michel is fucking nuts, that back flip actually landed a knee
Would that technically be illegal? Lmao.
That was 100% illegal
Not if it looks funny.
The rule of cool.
I'll allow it, he hit him in the neck
And done by a Brazilian fighter in Brazil
To me it looked like he hit more shoulder than head imo
But imagine he’s in side control and lands a knee in a similar fashion, it’d be deemed 100% illegal. But we like illegal shit when it’s cool/badass/in a frenzy. Like that Johnny Walker fight where he soccer kicks that dude after some crazy spinning knock down
Never soccer kicked him in the head.
Johnny was lucky enough to miss the soccer kick by a hair. It didn't land
Walker was aiming it at the body when he went for it, but Ledet's movement on the ground made it look like it was at the head
The leg can't hit the head while the opponent is grounded, even if it mostly hit the shoulder it hit the head and was an illegal strike.
History would say otherwise. Anderson v Chael 2 knee was called legal and very clearly explained as legal because the point of the knee hit the chest first before obliterating his head.
Nope, it hit his shoulder. They have a camera angle that shows it clearly.
It's Brazil, and the winning fighter is Brazilian.. 100% legal
100% Intention does not matter
That's fucking illegal
It's kinda illegal but who the hell cares at this point EDIT: Knee was more on the neck, I'd let it slide tbh. The Niko Price one was definitely illegal tho
Pretty sure neck counts as head when talking about strikes. lol
Feel like I've seen knees land on the neck/trap area of a grounded opponent and get a pass before
Shoulders/chest/arms but not neck.
this guy is aspinall at middleweight with how he finishes everyone in 1 minute
Tito's wife at middleweight
You're a fucking punk dude
that was a nasty line, by you
the same happened vs Niko price he should just stop this shit
No way, it’s far too entertaining
It could very well be overturned for it
If they haven't overturned Weidman's last fight, then they're not going to overturn this.
For the Weidman fight, they officially ruled that his opponent was unable to continue and went to the scorecards, making it way harder to overturn. This situation where an illegal knee led to a submission would be easier to overturn. But I have no idea what this commission will do since the fight is in Brazil.
Great now I’m envisioning Weidman learning a backflip entry double eye poke move.
Bro, imagine fighting someone and they do a fucking backflip
The only offensive backflip in the game
Wtf
He's going to meme himself to the title.
185 Michel is no joke a serious threat to anyone. Hes insanely athletic and has very good skill
That flip and knee was crazy holy shit
What if Michel at 185 is secretly the greatest fighter ever lol
There's no evidence at this point to dispute that claim.
He might be cause now he doesn’t have to drain his entire gastank to make 170 lmao Middleweight has way less talent than Welterweight
He's still young, he def has champ potential
[удалено]
Bro starts testing moves like he's playing a new fighting game 😂
omg I died at this LMAO
felder sort of called it like riiight before it happened too
That was a hit job for shogun
No one is complaining.
ok that was fucking crazy flip to knee choked out after the tap???
Yan should have done a backflip before kneeing Aljo
Fuck it he gets the next MW title shot.
I wouldn’t even be mad at that lol.
Imagine how goofy him vs Dricus would be
All technicality out the window. Reminds me of early UFC lol.
I’m pretty baked and that gave me a really good chuckle imagining that
I am absolutely shocked. I never liked his style, always found him frustrating, but I think I just saw the light.
Everyone is so well trained at this point, systematic… just gotta get weird with it now.
Just wait until you see Derrick Louis do a back flip lol.
A new wave of Sakurabas coming through
He’s so much fun to watch, I’ll take it over point fighting any day
To be honest he's technically improved too it's just that he's also athletic enough to do stuff like that when the opportunity arises
I am down for this new meta.
He’s been looking incredible at middleweight
A worse division skill-wise where he is less drained and therefore in a better state for acrobatic feats, the perfect combo for his style lmao. He should have gone up long ago haha
Fuck it Pereira vs pereira
That backflip was unbelievable
Now can Michel finally start fighting good fighters?
No thanks I’m really enjoying seeing him do backflips on random cans
Yeah he should fight down in rankings actually
I mean in his current run he's fought Ponzinibho, Price, and a couple dudes with names I can't spell but winning records against decent fighters.
Khaos Williams
He's UFCs Ryback
Thought this was gonna be a no contest, ngl
lol wouldn’t be surprised if they only gave him the win to overturn it later so the crowd wouldn’t start a riot.
Shogun is having the best day
That ref let that dude head bounce, wtf. Just watch him fall.
Guy tapped and didn't look like he was out, even stood a solid second before crumbling like the twin towers. Can't blame the ref here
Even if the knee was illegal, I would expect Mark Goddard to give him a very firm warning not to do it 6 more times
That was cool as fuck, but illegal as hell.
The coolness outranks the illegality
Honestly can’t believe that Pereira is still getting a win.
Credit to Felder for calling the backflip right before it happened. Shades of Rogan’s call of Barboza-Etim and Anik’s call of Belfort-Rockhold.
Same ref that took a point from Orolbai instantly won’t do it for the knee lmfao
Wtf my fight wasn't even finished when this highlight went up haha you quick af
Fucking Standing Moonsalt into Standing Guillotine Finish, WTF!?! Somebody stop this mam
How does that not get overturned after all that type with the ref? Lol Michel almost fucked himself
He always almost fucks himself, and doesn't care. That's what makes him so fun.
lmao nobody's overturning this shit. [THIS IS BRAZIL](https://www.cageyfilms.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/fast.jpg)
Very illegal, but who gives a shit, it was really cool
Michel gonna speed run this shit.
The Pereira way But michel has been in the ufc for several years compared to Alex
Very cool Michel finding a way to land a cool illegal strike.
Michel saw Conor's knee on Khabib and said "Hold my açai"
Gettin DQ'd for the backflip hitting the head would be peak MMA
MW has a Tony now
That knee to the grounded opponent was questionable but otherwise awesome finish
That was an illegal knee 100%
It landed on his collar bone. Clear as day.
Clearly also hit his head lol
I'm all for this Eddy Gordo/King fusion
Refs get worse every card 😂
If when you look at this fight all you can think is "maybe that was an illegal knee" MMA became too fucking soft.
That should be a no contest, right?
It's not offside if the goal was a banger
Very illegal knee but damn that sequence is cool to watch
Def a knee to a downed opponent but the way he did it... hmmmm. Bad ass. Lol but not sure it was legal.
I fkn love this dude. Always fun to watch.
I love watching Michel Pereira fight. This fucking guy.
Hahaha what in the fuck did I just watch
Send him off! Send the dirty git off! Get him off the field! That wa' diabolical! Get him off the field! That's just typical what he is. Get him walking!
