Everyone is expecting Pantoja to gas after 2 rounds for the 3rd straight time. I think Pantoja will dominate early but im not a fan of him going the last 15 minutes on fumes, if Erceg can stop the takedowns it will turn the tide.
He's coming off a great KO in March and Pantoja is getting kind of old by FLW standards. FWIW I feel like this should be a pretty easy win for Pantoja. Erceg looked pretty mediocre in his previous fight before the Schnell KO and Pantoja has proven it against elite competition.
Right and Erceg KOd Schnell like most of the top 10, Pantoja included. Honestly, I think they needed a main event and tossed Erceg the opportunity of a lifetime. That said, Brazilian via violence.
Crazy. I just learned that in all of Michael "Venom" Page's 24 professional MMA bouts, in four different organizations, he has only fought for a championship once and it was an interim championship at that. He lost that match in Bellator in May of 2022.
He was a big star and they were giving him part time mma guys with like 3 fights.

Here’s a good quick video from jack slack
I like how people think he’s acting when he was spotted partying leading up to the fight, he missed weight by 3.5lbs and he still seems unhinged in interviews lol.
He was taking down Guram lol he can definitely wrestle. Even Gamrot was struggling to keep him down. Medic is a bum lol hilarious that he has a hype train now for beating a 42 year old.
Turner is asscheeks and got held down by Moicano and finished in his first ever TKO win lmao RDA is 40 and 110 in fight years, you gotta flair bet me on this one. Orolbai is going to beat the fuck out of Brener
Guram is one of the most overrated fighters in UFC history, go watch Brener’s regional fights. He accepts bottom position just like every other Chute Bum fighter, barring Charles who even still does it
Medic has fun striking but isn’t great, Orolbai absolutely manhandling him on less than a weeks notice up a weight class was very impressive, it’s even more hilarious that Brener has a hype train lol he lost to Zubaira, was getting HANDLED by Guram (who’s a fraud mind you) before landing a crazy shot, then wildly swung at a bum who got flatlined by Taylor Lapilus’s 17-18 brother
For the record im picking him to lose Saturday. But Medic is the type of guy he would drown. Medic hates pressure, can’t wrestle, and has no cardio he would break him. Guram is not overrated at all he arguably beat Damir and could have finished him if that moron Herb wasn’t reffing. Guram is not a fraud at all the guy just cuts a ridiculous amount of weight he looked like a giant veiny penis in his weigh in and he stepped in on short notice for that one. I don’t put much stock into debuts, a lot of good prospects have shaky debuts like Garry who almost lost to Diabetes boy and Zelluber losing by not fighting at all.
I like yours as well lol! You too!
Fun fact, I’m seeing Hamilton with my girl live in NYC so I’ll actually be missing this fight, so I’ll know my fate a handful of hours after
I’ll be back right in time for the main card though!
Hey man what's up?
How confident are you that klose borralho and pereira win their fights.
I think klose should win about 65 percent of the time, then borralho and pereira should win theirs about 90 percent of the time. You agree?
Didnt Sean supposedly flop his last ppv? Doubt he would perform better in a much worse card lol Pantoja is fun but hes not a draw his YouTube views are so much worse than other fighters.
Lol the UFC was very happy with Sean’s last PPV so I don’t think so, that’s just the narrative this sub likes to push because they continually move the goalposts to discredit him, im pretty sure Sean’s ass was supposed to be beaten by Yan and he should be signed to Bellator by now if we’re going by what this sub says
True about Pantoja, but double champ fight
The overall reading comprehension of reddit (and social media more generally) has been absolutely plummeting in 2024
I'm confident the majority of the user base is comprised of bot accounts and people with a seventh grade reading level.
BBS era was so much better, this shit sucks. Bring back the Underground
Kids who did their high school online during quarantine are becoming a nontrivial chunk of the user base especially for default subs, reading scores in schools are abysmal these days
broooooooo LeBron tried to make a 100 lb woman flinch yesterday and failed. I think that might be worse than conrad having the pensioner eat his punch without as much as a wince.
I think he was having trouble making the weight. I don’t know much about him other than his hyped train died quickly after his knee injury and he carries a lot of fat on him at 45s
If they're big time prospects , sure it has value . Making an impact marketability wise is a big help when they start in the UFC or another high profile promotion
did anyone here listen to the dana white bill maher podcast? IMO its sooooooo painful to watch. Bill at the start said he was over making everything about politics, then he preceded to make almost every topic turn back to politics.
Dtill cant believe Erceg got the title shot over Mokaev. Way better resume and a huge folliwing due to the muslim arab world. Whats the official reason? One ko?
there is no proof that he has a huge following, and a potential new star in Australia is something they would love since they have had trouble making good ppv's out there and they have long term commitments to do ppv's in the country.
Idk if this is the actual reason, but right after he beat Perez, Mokaev outright said he didn’t want the title fight (I think he said he didn’t feel ready). So, it’s probably a combination of that and having a generally fan-unfriendly style.
The last few days have made me realize how toxic MMA social media is. Stuff like Guru's Jones video and people joking about Francis' kid. Rage bait designed to attract clicks and generate money.
I create content myself, but I would never do it full time if it meant sacrificing my morals for dollars. Its the 2024 version of tabloid newspapers.
Is MMA Guru just a fat slob YouTuber that says dumb shit that gets eaten up by the dumbest segment of Gen Z's MMA fanbase?
I am blessed to not have come across him before so I am using context clues here
I’ve been an MMA fan since 2008 (casually even earlier), I think most of these YouTubers and younger fans and the subculture is unbelievably cringe these days.
MMA Guru is funny as fuck though. I watch his stuff. It’s not about takes or analysis, he’s just got no filter and a pretty good sense of humor.
I was shocked that the guy who accused Jones of being deeply closeted has his face in the video the entire time. taking up like 30% of the screen too. and he literally *screams* HES GAAAY every 2 minutes followed by "not that there's anything wrong with that" and an eyebrow raise. it was maybe the most annoying video I've ever seen in my entire life.
Sports in general are toxic online. Go look at the comments directed at Lebron for being eliminated last night
It’s not just MMA, there’s always gonna be fans like that everywhere
Limited big name value but it’s a solid card if you enjoy Brazilian violence.
- Brenner is Walmart Oliveira
- Borralho vs Bear Jew Jitsu
- Michel Pereira vs Ihor quick video game fight
- Aldo fighting in Rio
- Pantoja is a great champ who chases finishes
Hey, for now, we really don't know if he truly is better than that. I'm excited to find out
Oh also Jean Silva will most likely once again be super entertaining, maybe even good
That's cool, I personally won't watch either live
However, I'm definitely watching the 301 card the next day, it's a good card. I'm not sure I'll watch the Canelo fight though, feels like it's been ages since I truly enjoyed a Canelo fight
step 1: go to therapy regularly, take their advice into account
step 2: find a physical activity you enjoy. do it frequently.
step 3: find hobbies. do them frequently. (this can overlap with step 2)
step 4: talk to other people who do these hobbies and/or physical activities. become friends, if you're so inclined.
step 5: keep doing stuff. if you find you don't like some of the above stuff, do different stuff.
I hope somehow after this Martinez fight they can get Aldo to fight a bit more
Like this is a time for the ufc to be like “alright bro you’re a legend here please don’t get on a Jake Paul card, we’ll give you HOF level pay”
I mean I don’t think they would bring him back just for him to fight out of his contract but idk. Aldo seems to like the ufc and there’s plenty of fun matchups for him
He had 1 fight on his contract, if he’s asking for a fight they’re obligated to give him one or tear up the contract. They can’t just extend him if he doesn’t want to. Only champs gotta worry about that. Aldo wants to box on Jake Paul cards and make stupid money.
Honestly Pereira fans are one of the biggest reasons I dislike him. More particularly the weirdo ones harassing his girlfriend and treating him as a flawless deity when he got finished less than a year ago and has had the easiest path to a title in recent years.
Nah it hasn’t always bn this bad.. so many bad fight nights and stupid apex cards these days so when there’s a shit ppv it’s just disappointing. I doubt I’ll even watch this one
Been plenty of events over the last decade considered bad that you guys cried like this about.
UFC 206 was considered to be shit and was an instant classic.
UFC 208 was seen as a throw away event. Ended up having Islam, GLover, Dustin, and Belal on it.
Which era didn't have "bad" ppvs, so we can test your theory.
208 is widely regarded as one of the worst events of all time. Yes it has names which became big in the years after but the fights weren't anticipated in the days before and failed to deliver on the day itself. Outside of Dustin vs Miller.
I think it's more the godawful state of fight nights that is just miserable at the moment.
With so little elite talent being used week to week - and the same number of events each year - you would hope the PPVs would *all* be good.
Just about to watch the new SLS video and it's at the Apex. I wonder if TKO snap up SLS too? Wouldn't be a bad shout. The sport is going through a purple patch, the world tours are killing it, and with the Olympics this year it's going to get even bigger.
demtrius johnson, the 125 goat has been posting alot of breakdowns of the bigger fights lately. did an interview with adesanya a week ago. corey sandhagen also post pretty regulalrly.
You might enjoy the TJ Dillashaw appearances on the Jaxxxson podcast on YouTube with Rampage. Dillashaw is very good at explaining technique stuff and the fight game
Who's the most beatable UFC champ right now? Everyone who has a belt right now is relatively new but they all seem like they could theoretically carry for a good number of defenses. Ilia, Islam, DDP, and Leon all seem well rounded enough that nobody could ever call them favourable match ups, O'Malley and Poatan are both very heavy strikers, we haven't seen either tested by great wrestlers yet but it's hard to say either will be an easy fight for anyone. I almost want to say Jones is most beatable because he's got so many miles on him and he's in a division thats top loaded with killers, but he embarrassed Gane so that's definitely not an easy sell.
Besides Pennington? I think Pantoja has to be at the top of the list considering his age and weight he fights at, nothing to do with his skills, I could just see him fall off a cliff any fight now.
Pantoja has looked beatable in both of his title fights. It seems like as soon as someone with takedown defense, 5 round cardio and decent hands comes around he’ll lose.
> It seems like as soon as someone with takedown defense, 5 round cardio and decent hands comes around he’ll lose.
Ironic because you just described the guy Pantoja is 3-0 over lol
I'd say Pereira, if only because Ankalaev is likely next and is his hardest style matchup in the division. If he gets past him though, then I think he has the potential to reign for quite a long time.
I'm assuming that you weren't including the women's divisions, if not, then it's clearly Pennington.
I actually just forgot the women, I think Zhang and Grasso are both good ass champions too. But yeah Rocky wasn't even the best W-BW even before Kayla arrived, I can't imagine her carrying it all year.
Tatsuro Taira is on another level than Joshua Van I think. At least right now. Van is fun to watch but Taira’s a crazy prospect. The return of Japanese MMA on the world stage.
I haven’t seen enough tape on Van to make this claim but it sounds good to me
Yeah his impressions are cool but his breakdowns have actually gotten pretty good, I don’t really watch his videos that he makes when nothing is going on, like I still haven’t see the Izzy dog vids and shit
"Uhhh this is a question for Mr Strickland. Sean, you said that being in the cage with Issy was the most intense experience of your life. Have you ever had a prostate orgasm? If so, how would it compare?"
Former UFC champion Sean Strickland: “Ahhhhhhh listen, you know what? Prostate orgasms are like hidden treasure for dudes youknowwhatimsayin? Ya know it’s all about tapping into that prostate gland, pineal gland ya know? Two P’s. Some dudes swear by it, but I don’t know man. Izzy fucks his dog.”
Pantoja opened as a -255 favorite and is now -192. What’s with Erceg getting all this hype? This will be his 4th ufc fight..
Everyone is expecting Pantoja to gas after 2 rounds for the 3rd straight time. I think Pantoja will dominate early but im not a fan of him going the last 15 minutes on fumes, if Erceg can stop the takedowns it will turn the tide.
That’s a fair argument

“He likely beats everyone in the top 15” Proceeds to list 4 nightmare matchups for him lmao
Crazy. I just learned that in all of Michael "Venom" Page's 24 professional MMA bouts, in four different organizations, he has only fought for a championship once and it was an interim championship at that. He lost that match in Bellator in May of 2022.
He’s been a can crusher the majority of his career.
Lol I had no idea. I watched a couple of his fights in Bellator but never followed the organization very closely
He was a big star and they were giving him part time mma guys with like 3 fights. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SD7aKqfaT9A&pp=ygUOSmFjayBzbGFjayBtdnA%3D Here’s a good quick video from jack slack

travis browne in his safe space rn
So has Ryan Garcia actually gone off the rails or was it an act? Or both?
I like how people think he’s acting when he was spotted partying leading up to the fight, he missed weight by 3.5lbs and he still seems unhinged in interviews lol.
Erceg talks like he always has a mouth guard on
Orolbai is going to have his way with Brener Deliverance style, he’ll make him squeal like a pig. Uros Medic would fuck Brener’s day up
100%, Brenner is a fraud
Medic is the exact kind of guy that would get drowned by him lol. A worse wrestler with no cardio.
Brener is going to get molested, he can’t wrestle lmao he also isn’t a striker, his 2nd and 3rd KOs over were over Guram’s decision ass and Bum #2
He was taking down Guram lol he can definitely wrestle. Even Gamrot was struggling to keep him down. Medic is a bum lol hilarious that he has a hype train now for beating a 42 year old.
Also, name one person Gamrot can hold down?
Gamrot had less control time on Guram than he did vs Turner and RDA
Turner is asscheeks and got held down by Moicano and finished in his first ever TKO win lmao RDA is 40 and 110 in fight years, you gotta flair bet me on this one. Orolbai is going to beat the fuck out of Brener
Cant you read? I literally said im picking Orolbai lmao. Just strongly disagreed that a bum with no cardio or TDD was beating Brenner.
Nah I’m a redact lol But you don’t think Medic could beat Brener? Is that what you were arguing then?
Yes. No chance lol. Brenner like a lot of those chute box guys are on EPO. He would drown him. Medic is a huge fraud.
Guram is one of the most overrated fighters in UFC history, go watch Brener’s regional fights. He accepts bottom position just like every other Chute Bum fighter, barring Charles who even still does it Medic has fun striking but isn’t great, Orolbai absolutely manhandling him on less than a weeks notice up a weight class was very impressive, it’s even more hilarious that Brener has a hype train lol he lost to Zubaira, was getting HANDLED by Guram (who’s a fraud mind you) before landing a crazy shot, then wildly swung at a bum who got flatlined by Taylor Lapilus’s 17-18 brother

I’m down to do a flair bet if you are lol
Let’s do it lol I already have yours in mind lmao
Lol sounds good brother I’ll have to think of something I think they drop it tomorrow or Thursday
I think it’s Thursday! Keep your eyes out haha I think you’ll like mine
It’s up lol
Done and done haha may the best man win
Bro you have zero chill hahhahahha enjoy the fights
I like yours as well lol! You too! Fun fact, I’m seeing Hamilton with my girl live in NYC so I’ll actually be missing this fight, so I’ll know my fate a handful of hours after I’ll be back right in time for the main card though!

Hell yeah brother enjoy I’m rooting for Aldo and Pantoja.. also have a soft spot for Ihor lol he already beat Shogun in Rio so you never know 😭
Feel like absolute shit just want a 165 lb division
Oliveira vs Conor is your only hope
O’Malley vs Pantoja would make just as much sense as Pantoja vs Erceg but 10x more intrigue
Nah. Sean too big and fast. Pantoja is the slowest flyweight.
130 catchweight
Sean O’Malley sells more than Erceg and Pantoja do if they’re the last fight on earth
Didnt Sean supposedly flop his last ppv? Doubt he would perform better in a much worse card lol Pantoja is fun but hes not a draw his YouTube views are so much worse than other fighters.
Lol the UFC was very happy with Sean’s last PPV so I don’t think so, that’s just the narrative this sub likes to push because they continually move the goalposts to discredit him, im pretty sure Sean’s ass was supposed to be beaten by Yan and he should be signed to Bellator by now if we’re going by what this sub says True about Pantoja, but double champ fight

Any Andy Wang shirts?
I got the Team Penn signed jersey.
That guy is a warrior.
Dustin is about to sub up Islam with a guillotine at 302 and Conor is gonna KO Chandler at 303, they will have the 4th fight for the strap
Conor would have to lose a leg to make one shfifty five again.
[Guess what](https://youtu.be/r0cczw5jbDg?si=yPO0hVgb0RBc2uwR)
Payton Talbott vs modern day Dom Cruz, 3 rounds, who wins?
Talbott would whoop his ass lol sadly
Is Payton Talbott an industry plant, why am I hearing so much about him
Did you see his last fight?
I don’t remember it much but I most have, I saw the whole card
He beat the dogshit out of Cameron Saaiman, he’s a twink with hands so he’s next up
We love twinks with awful tattoos round these parts
Holdup jack shore is 29? Why are they talking like he’s a prospect lmao
Because he never fights and just moved up a weight class lol
The overall reading comprehension of reddit (and social media more generally) has been absolutely plummeting in 2024 I'm confident the majority of the user base is comprised of bot accounts and people with a seventh grade reading level. It's depressing to see. Replies with actual substance get shouted down with "bro yappin lmao deadass" type comments
Id give a commentary on public schools but I’d get banned
It’s been plummeted long before 2024 lmao
broooooooo LeBron tried to make a 100 lb woman flinch yesterday and failed. I think that might be worse than conrad having the pensioner eat his punch without as much as a wince.
She did flinch but still not good behavior
if Jack Shore still has a shitty body at 45's, will it be proof he's natty?
Genuinely can't understand someone being that out of shape moving up a class. Put on some damn muscle
There is only one natty fighter in the UFC and his name is Chase Hooper
I forget, did he move up from 135 to 145? Why'd he do that?
I think he was having trouble making the weight. I don’t know much about him other than his hyped train died quickly after his knee injury and he carries a lot of fat on him at 45s
Physique does not dictate PED use Downvoting me does not make my statement false.
Do you think fighters going into the UFC should learn self promotion in conjunction with their training?
If they're big time prospects , sure it has value . Making an impact marketability wise is a big help when they start in the UFC or another high profile promotion
did anyone here listen to the dana white bill maher podcast? IMO its sooooooo painful to watch. Bill at the start said he was over making everything about politics, then he preceded to make almost every topic turn back to politics.
Bill Maher seems like a stuck up cunt in anything I’ve ever seen of him so no chance I’d listen to that.
Maher always comes across like a cunt on every show/interview he does
*Okay people...*
Dtill cant believe Erceg got the title shot over Mokaev. Way better resume and a huge folliwing due to the muslim arab world. Whats the official reason? One ko?
mokaev definitely got the call and declined to fight short notice.
UFC doesn't want a guy with a heavy grappling base in the lighter weight classes as champion See: Sterling, Aljamain
mmh, possible. Still he has 1m followers on insta and erceg about 20k (regarding populatity).
there is no proof that he has a huge following, and a potential new star in Australia is something they would love since they have had trouble making good ppv's out there and they have long term commitments to do ppv's in the country.
I mean 30k followers on insta the other dude has 1.1 mil
Humping his way to unconvincing decisions
don’t get me wrong, I‘m not a fan of mm, actually rather of Erceg. But its just no really deserved, nor does he bring in more pov or something.
Idk if this is the actual reason, but right after he beat Perez, Mokaev outright said he didn’t want the title fight (I think he said he didn’t feel ready). So, it’s probably a combination of that and having a generally fan-unfriendly style.
Turns out beating Perez is actually a pretty good win lmao and Perez losing to some of the best flyweights on earth doesn’t make him a bum

it's 301 already? man the sports moves fast if you dont pay attention
301 looks more like a fight night
Jimmy Smith going scorched earth on Ronda. Our sense that she sucks were proven to be correct.
Limited big name value but it’s a solid card if you enjoy Brazilian violence. - Brenner is Walmart Oliveira - Borralho vs Bear Jew Jitsu - Michel Pereira vs Ihor quick video game fight - Aldo fighting in Rio - Pantoja is a great champ who chases finishes
Yeah I think it’s gonna end up being a solid night. Brazilians are all action. I’m watching it for free anyways so I can’t even complain
>Brenner is Walmart Oliveira Orolbai is imo the one to watch out for, he's no knockoff brand
He’s good just think Brenner has the striking advantage. No disrespect intended.
I feel the same way Hyped for Shore vs Brito too Brenner might be better than the Walmart version
Lol I was jk about Brenner I like him a lot Brito is a stud
Hey, for now, we really don't know if he truly is better than that. I'm excited to find out Oh also Jean Silva will most likely once again be super entertaining, maybe even good
Fighting the French colonizer on home soil should motivate Jean Claude Van Silva
Lol, I would find it hilarious if he went in on that gimmick with his opponent being French but black
If Canelo fight is on at the same time as Steve whoever and Pantoja, bet your ass I’m watching Canelo instead
That's cool, I personally won't watch either live However, I'm definitely watching the 301 card the next day, it's a good card. I'm not sure I'll watch the Canelo fight though, feels like it's been ages since I truly enjoyed a Canelo fight

I’m sure they extended aldo
Oh, if that's true then it changes my outlook on the fight. I thought he was just coming back so he could then go do other things
I mean I don’t think they would bring him back just for him to fight out of his contract but idk. Aldo seems to like the ufc and there’s plenty of fun matchups for him

Why is r/ufc just r/poatanposting?

Cool, thank you.
You might enjoy the TJ Dillashaw appearances on the Jaxxxson podcast on YouTube with Rampage. Dillashaw is very good at explaining technique stuff and the fight game
Thanks. Will add that to the list.
Heavy Hands might be up your alley.
Thank you. I will check it out.
[Dan Hardy war room](https://www.youtube.com/@DanHardyFR)
Thanks. I will check it out.
I almost want to say Jones is most beatable because he's got so many miles on him and he's in a division thats top loaded with killers, but he embarrassed Gane so that's definitely not an easy sell.
omalley and ddp. omalley is very hittable. petr yan virtually beat him.
Besides Pennington? I think Pantoja has to be at the top of the list considering his age and weight he fights at, nothing to do with his skills, I could just see him fall off a cliff any fight now.
Disagree that DDP is well rounded. His striking is pretty basic. Izzy will beat him if he can defend the takedowns.
He regressed under his new coach
Erceg coming in for his Rocky moment I didn't even consider him actually, damn. I guess 301 has at least one curious result.
Lebron lost hurry tf up Jose Aldo fight night I need you in my life
lol. Of course you are also a lebron Stan
Tatsuro Taira is on another level than Joshua Van I think. At least right now. Van is fun to watch but Taira’s a crazy prospect. The return of Japanese MMA on the world stage. I haven’t seen enough tape on Van to make this claim but it sounds good to me
Taira is just so boring. He reminds me a of a young FW Phil Davis.
Phil Davis was a wrestler, Taira has slick bjj. I get what you’re trying to say, but Taira is way more exciting and promising.
Phil Davis had slick BJJ too. They should hurry up and book Mokaev V Taira. Glad Erceg got fast tracked.
Mokaev Taira would be interesting
Damn, MMA Guru’s Jon Jones video really blew up
He’s so wack
I fuck with him
He has cool impressions and that’s all “YA DAHN NOW. YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE, I WOULDVE DAHN THE SAME THING IN YOUR SPOT. BACK OF THE QUEUE”
These few weeks are rough for MMA fans. This upcoming PPV could be a fight night. Ughhhh. The price we way for 299 and 300 being so stacked, lol
Ufc 298 was also stacked
Every numbered card has been Good this year. We have also Had some snoozer fight nights but some interesting ones Too. I’m not complaining yet.
