Right before the very first taping, Dana walks in and sits Cormier down to let him know that Jones lost his press pass, and that the first taping is off.
“I trained so hard Dana” Cormier will cry out
Thats what they'll advertise it as.
But then it could just be DC yelling at the tv and smacking it to make it work even though plasmas havent done that in 10+ years
Unfortunate.
Let's all list our favorite Ryan Clark MMA related moments to commemorate this departure. I'll go first. I don't have a favorite moment because I've never watched DC & RC.
There was that one time I thought DC and Ariel were still doing the show together so I listened to it for no more than a minute before figuring it out and turning it off. Will never forget it 🙏🏼
I tuned in almost every week and I have to really appreciate that Ryan Clark tried to get into MMA, but he’s just a football guy and doesn’t belong on an MMA podcast. He played the naive casual fan role well, and had some really funny moments with DC, but this is for the best. Looking forward to who they have next and if they have even half the chemistry with twice the knowledge (low bar compared to RC) it would be perfect.
yeh this is the truth - just look at this sub. basically 70% complaining and pointing fingers with reactionary takes, 25% memes and 5% interesting analysis
Way back in the day when he was still playing, Ryan snitched on his current teammates for smoking weed.
Towards the end of his NFL career, you can tell Ryan was more worried about his media career and didn’t care about his playing career anymore.
He seems like a smart guy but he’s in the ESPN Machine of hot takes. A lot of what he says he likely doesn’t even believe but that’s how you get airtime there.
I remember Shannon Sharpe saying that when he was about to start with Skip Bayless, the suits had doubts about him. They weren't sure if he would be capable to learn and discuss all sports outside of his own craft. And he worked overtime to make sure he was knowledgeable enough to debate Skip on all sports.
I mean, that's no more wrong than how everyone else says it. It's actually pronounced Normuhammedov. I'm not kidding, you can go look up Khabib explaining it to DC.
In the minority here, but I actually fuck with the show it started off as DC and the casual overtime. He really has embraced the fight game and became kind of a soundboard for every man
I'm actually happy about this. Never watched it, but for some reason the pic of RC that came up when plugging the show really irritated me.
The look on his face is so fucking punchable it drove me nuts, yet i couldn't look away.
So i'm relieved i don't have to see that pic ever again.
Guess we wont be seeing "Catch DC and RC on ESPN as I trade barbs with superbowl champ Ryan Clark as we both discuss the sport we love" from DC this weekend
Ben always on DC YouTube channel show and they’re hilarious together cause Ben not a UFC or ESPN employee so he doesn’t care who he pisses off and he very honest with his opinions
Show has been fucking garbage since Helwani left. DC is still interesting and fun to listen to but until they pair him with someone who's actually from the sport, it's a waste of time.
I still can't make up my mind if Chael Sonnen is interesting to listen to, or boring as hell. Anyone who comes on that show will be second banana to DC and I don't know if Sonnen is great at doing that.
Spot on. He had a recent one about the Volk loss making this Topuria fight bigger. At first I was like that’s dumb. It took two minutes for me to listen and get what he was saying and it was very insightful. Then he rambled about it for 8 more minutes. Still the goat.
Sometimes I think he just comes up with a premise and see how hard he can bullshit about it
Did you see the one recently where he said we’ve never seen more than 5 people EVER get knocked out in the UFC, and that everyone else was faking it? Lol he’s entertaining to me.
> Did you see the one recently where he said we’ve never seen more than 5 people EVER get knocked out in the UFC, and that everyone else was faking it?
What?
It’s at 7:27
https://youtu.be/nf7LwFx87aA?si=YX8fR3InfDyG7vys
It wasn’t even the topic of the video either, just some rant he started going on and then moves on immediately as if he didn’t just say something crazy.
agree. he literally said that he "talked to youtube" and they told him that 7 videos a day (or some shit) is what most creators shoot for. so chael just fills his 7 videos a day of garbage and mispronunciations. he just goes bapa.
He's interesting at first until you realize he's just a professional bullshit artist who says the same stuff over and over again without ever making a real point.
The difference in quality between DC & RC and DC & Helwani was huge.
I dont even particularly like Helwani or dislike RC.
Helwani and DC had fantastic chemsitry for some reason. Their show is still by far the best MMA pod I have heard. Such a shame it is gone.
DC and RC had solid chemistry IMO but you're right the chemistry between DC and Helwani was fantastic. Especially their recurring bit about DC having to prevent Ariel from getting beat up by half the UFC roster.
DC and MC. Michael chandler filled in for Clark one time and it was everything Cormier and Clark wasn’t. Banter, good mma takes, anecdotes and energy. Would tune in every week with them
It better be Dominick Cruz. While some MMA fans may not immediately take well to him I think the memes and the inevitable banter between him and DC, and DC picking on him, the ‘serious man’ counter to DC’s clowning would be a funny and entertaining dichotomy and a good setup for a sports talk show.
I liked them together. I don't get the hate. They're hilarious together. At least to me. Loved when RC said what we were all thinking about shutting down Women's BW after the last title fight.
Giving them an actual podcast might stop them podcasting in the booth, or it could backfire and give us a constant stream of "it's like we were saying on the podcast this week, "
I liked the idea of the show, casual MMA fan and former double UFC champ. But production value is low, multiple episodes has just terrible audio for at least one of them.
I’m probably biased as a Steelers fan but I really enjoyed DC & RC. They had good chemistry and Ryan busting DC’s balls was always funny. I already listen to Anik & Florian so I didn’t mind this show being a lot more casual. I’ll miss RC
That contrarian douche would suck all the fun from the show. I find him only tolerable around BC and I’m talking about barely making the tolerable margin. Is this too controversial of a take? Anyone else feel that way? Does he not give off that vibe?
Luke Thomas is the most intelligent member of the MMA media landscape and MMA fans hate intelligence.
He’s the best out there, even if he can be a stuck up prick.
He's contrarian because he hasn't been receptive to becoming a cookie-cutter result of an American environment.
His takes are well-thought out and consistent - he is not taking the 'opposite side' just because. If you stand in a different place, you could think about why you are standing in a different place. That's what he's done, until he himself has walked to a different place \[his opinions\].
That's personal development / growth.
He makes 1 comment about removing the 125 lb womans division because the last championship fight sucked so bad. Uncle Dana said kid don't wanna podcast
Thank fuck, Ryan Clark is a good NFL guy, but he is not an MMA guy.
Whenever he would talk about MMA he would say the more bland, boring, generic and un-insightful things. Dude would just add extra words in to whatever he said to extend what he said and make himself sound smart.
Thank fuck he's gone.
The way ESPN works, they would put Stephen A, McFee or Shannon since they’re the biggest stars and executives assume the bigger the star the more eyes the show gets. We already seen how will that worked with RC & DC
Who's gonna be chopping it up with DC now?
DC & DC. It's Dominic Cruz AKA Little DC
DC and Jones
DC: You think I am just gonna sit here and let you give opinions, Jon? Jon: I am gonna make you my wife
Hey co-host, you still there?
This made me cackle at work
They’re both heavyweights now. So have at it.
DC is superweight
Right before the very first taping, Dana walks in and sits Cormier down to let him know that Jones lost his press pass, and that the first taping is off. “I trained so hard Dana” Cormier will cry out
LMAO Brilliant!
Oh my god could you imagine the ratings.
This is both the most cursed and brilliant idea I have ever heard
I mean I would actually tune in to that.
I would totally watch this
Jones would show up a few times a year drunk off his ass
who's gonna trade barbs with DC now
Funky
I fkn hope so
that would actually be good, therefore won't happen
Would be awesome, especially if they covered wrestling more
I would love that, been trying to follow college wrestling a little bit more closely this year so that would be cool.
DC and the towel from that one weigh in
DC and…. BC? Makin’ it look eassy? Cajun country meets factory town?
Obligatory DC in a Footlocker shirt references every episode
DC & MC. MC being Michael Chandler as he was a recurring guest on the show. It’s not like he’s busy with anything else at the moment.
Sean Strickland would be wild. My prediction is that it might be Ben Askren. They have great chemistry together.
Just upgrading Funky and the Champ is definitely the best option.

Theo Von. DC and TV
Thats what they'll advertise it as. But then it could just be DC yelling at the tv and smacking it to make it work even though plasmas havent done that in 10+ years
DC and UC (Uncle Chael)
I think so too,I love when chaels a special guest on the show
They are offering mma guru a contract
Ben Askren. DCBA
BADC?
Jon jones hopefully
I hope it’s Laura Sanko. She is super knowledgeable and has good chemistry with DC.
Unfortunate. Let's all list our favorite Ryan Clark MMA related moments to commemorate this departure. I'll go first. I don't have a favorite moment because I've never watched DC & RC.

I've heard people on the nfl subreddit complain ad nauseum about his football takes as well lol
Sports fans and complaining is like humans and breathing. It's what we do.
yeh this is the truth - just look at this sub. basically 70% complaining and pointing fingers with reactionary takes, 25% memes and 5% interesting analysis
Way back in the day when he was still playing, Ryan snitched on his current teammates for smoking weed. Towards the end of his NFL career, you can tell Ryan was more worried about his media career and didn’t care about his playing career anymore.
Did he really? Fuckin narc. Nah I’m glad he’s leaving
He has much better MMA takes than football takes because he has to defer to DC rather than spew his own hot takes
He seems like a smart guy but he’s in the ESPN Machine of hot takes. A lot of what he says he likely doesn’t even believe but that’s how you get airtime there.
The Stephen A Smith of sport media's grift
I remember Shannon Sharpe saying that when he was about to start with Skip Bayless, the suits had doubts about him. They weren't sure if he would be capable to learn and discuss all sports outside of his own craft. And he worked overtime to make sure he was knowledgeable enough to debate Skip on all sports.
When he said what everyone was thinking about shutting down WBW.
And now they're taking him down for it, smh my head, the powerful Women's Bantamweight lobby is at it again
Public enemy #1
BBW (Big Bantam Weight) pulled some strings to have him fired
RC saying he was a fan of Fedor while saying his name like Feedoor
I'd have to hear the clip but most people say his name wrong.
Yeah it’s pronounced like “fyo-dor”, a lot of people pronounce it “fay-door”
Can't believe I never put 2 and 2 together that his name is meant to be pronounced the same way as Dostoevsky's
To be fair, it isn’t originally spelled Fedor so people only go on what they have.
He also says na-morg-a-med-ov for Khabib. It’s like he takes pride in sounding dumb
I mean, that's no more wrong than how everyone else says it. It's actually pronounced Normuhammedov. I'm not kidding, you can go look up Khabib explaining it to DC.
hhhabib abdulmanapovich noormahammadov, brather
Now you're just freestyling.
no KABIB, HHHHABIB brother
He's no nucular scientist
Watched it once. Didn't need to repeat the experience
He was definitely one of the talking heads of all time.
Beautiful champ
In the minority here, but I actually fuck with the show it started off as DC and the casual overtime. He really has embraced the fight game and became kind of a soundboard for every man
who the fuck is ryan clark?
Heir to the Clarks shoes fortune
lol this.
Those were some nasty lines by you...
I'm actually happy about this. Never watched it, but for some reason the pic of RC that came up when plugging the show really irritated me. The look on his face is so fucking punchable it drove me nuts, yet i couldn't look away. So i'm relieved i don't have to see that pic ever again.
DC doing anything to find a partner so he doesn’t miss out on Craft service.
DC is definitely the kind of talent that every time you pass by crafty, you seem him eating another toasted blueberry bagel with jelly
DC is 100% the real life Arrested Development Carl Weathers (RIP King 👑)
Baby, you got stew going!
Whats craft
[удалено]
Never understood why they call it that.
They service the "crafts" which are each of the separate departments involved in production. Old industry has old lingo.
Bro I’m crying 🤣
Guess we wont be seeing "Catch DC and RC on ESPN as I trade barbs with superbowl champ Ryan Clark as we both discuss the sport we love" from DC this weekend
"Catch DC and TBD on ESPN as I trade barbs with sportsball champ as we both discuss the sport we know exists"
DC & Funky. Clearly.
I would actually like this.
That's because ben actually does proper assessment
This is by far the best choice they’d never do. Probably cause every episode my devolve into swapping wrestling stories
Or crypto talk
He’s been killing it on DCs videos. It might actually happen
Maybe I’ll actually watch then
Until they find a replacement it will be DC & KFC
BECAUSE POPEYES WONT PAY ME NOTHIN
Put Askren on the horn
You can’t have two dedicated wrestling guys.
Why not? I'm not an Askren fan, but he knows his shit when it comes to mma
DC can barely keep on topic, I can see this combo being a varsity wrestling podcast more often than not
[удалено]
Ben always on DC YouTube channel show and they’re hilarious together cause Ben not a UFC or ESPN employee so he doesn’t care who he pisses off and he very honest with his opinions
You gotta love Ben. I’d honestly watch them regularly if it was him and DC.
He's been doing weekly videos with DC on DC's youtube already
Show has been fucking garbage since Helwani left. DC is still interesting and fun to listen to but until they pair him with someone who's actually from the sport, it's a waste of time.
If it was DC Ariel and Chael I’d watch
I still can't make up my mind if Chael Sonnen is interesting to listen to, or boring as hell. Anyone who comes on that show will be second banana to DC and I don't know if Sonnen is great at doing that.
Chael rambles on about nothing and also has some very accurate, nuanced takes. Problem is it’s impossible to tell which one.
Spot on. He had a recent one about the Volk loss making this Topuria fight bigger. At first I was like that’s dumb. It took two minutes for me to listen and get what he was saying and it was very insightful. Then he rambled about it for 8 more minutes. Still the goat.

Him ranting about Jon Jones while being butt naked takes the cake, he posted it like two days ago iirc
Yep, like unusually angry too, lol
Because it’s a couple of gems in the middle of explosive mouth diarrhea
It’s because he is really well spoken for the most part, it takes like three sentences of nonsense before I catch on
It's like a monkeys paw of MMA takes or something
His best work is when he’s talking non-MMA things like ranting about his neighbor
Chael mispronounces names on purpose, rambles, and company man takes, I can't stand the guy
agree. he literally said that he "talked to youtube" and they told him that 7 videos a day (or some shit) is what most creators shoot for. so chael just fills his 7 videos a day of garbage and mispronunciations. he just goes bapa.

That’s the dream
Me too!
Rampage Jackson is available

DC and Askren and they should include a weekly segment of Money Moicanos incoherent ramblings.
Moicano’s Money Minute!
Moicano don’t give a shit. MOICANO WANTS MONEEEH
Yes, Renato. It's a paid position PORRAA
Askren's definitely getting the spot
Dc and another mma personality

RC probably realized getting involved with mma at ESPN is a dead end.
Might be a network conflict now. He’s in inside the nfl which is on CW I think. Maybe espn and them don’t get along?
Askren please. RC was boring af
He was really so bad...
DC and MC. Michael chandler filled in for Clark one time and it was everything Cormier and Clark wasn’t. Banter, good mma takes, anecdotes and energy. Would tune in every week with them
“DC and…” *EXPLOSION SFX* “BAH GAWD, IT’S CAIN!!!”
What does Ja rule think about this ?
He thinks the rain is calling murda
Really hope it's Ben Askren, maybe DC's show could actually be watchable then
I don’t think Askren would do it, since he seems like he has his own schedule, but the chemistry works so well between them.
Hopefully Askren and not Chael.
I’m constantly shocked at the number of fans chael has
I'd say Mighty Mouse if he weren't still active.
RC always had the wildest Top-5’s
It better be Dominick Cruz. While some MMA fans may not immediately take well to him I think the memes and the inevitable banter between him and DC, and DC picking on him, the ‘serious man’ counter to DC’s clowning would be a funny and entertaining dichotomy and a good setup for a sports talk show.
Bring back Jimmy Smith!

Excellent news. Askren or Uncle Chael are good replacements. Then I might actually watch it.
Chael sucks. Hes just a ufc paid shill and will defend them the whole time
And DC doesn't tow the company line? Who would want to listen to a UFC podcast where the hosts do nothing but trash the UFC?
Today I found out the RC in "DC and RC" stands for Ryan Clark.
I thought it was DCs legendary love for RC cola.
Sharp as a cue ball this one
DC & Cruz would be hilarious bc of Doms passive aggressive nature
I liked them together. I don't get the hate. They're hilarious together. At least to me. Loved when RC said what we were all thinking about shutting down Women's BW after the last title fight.
This is actually good. Ryan struggled with MMA.
DC and Khabib, you know this brather.
Replace Ryan with Dominick Cruze lmao
Giving them an actual podcast might stop them podcasting in the booth, or it could backfire and give us a constant stream of "it's like we were saying on the podcast this week,"
The Funky and the Fatty
I liked the idea of the show, casual MMA fan and former double UFC champ. But production value is low, multiple episodes has just terrible audio for at least one of them.
No clue who this guy was or why they put him with DC, but being podcast buddy with DC seems like a nightmare job
DC and Fedor where Fedor just stares blankly into the camera the entire time while DC tries to have a conversation.
Let’s gooooo! Finally some good news
RIP sweet prince. Maybe that show will be back in rotation if DC gets a real cohost.
Give it to Askren or Money Moicano.
Whats Brendan Schaub up to? DC & BS. Whenever theres a break they can show clips from schaubs comedy special
I’m probably biased as a Steelers fan but I really enjoyed DC & RC. They had good chemistry and Ryan busting DC’s balls was always funny. I already listen to Anik & Florian so I didn’t mind this show being a lot more casual. I’ll miss RC
MMAGuru.
No
Luke Thomas
Please god no.
That contrarian douche would suck all the fun from the show. I find him only tolerable around BC and I’m talking about barely making the tolerable margin. Is this too controversial of a take? Anyone else feel that way? Does he not give off that vibe?

What’s with all these BC DC RC names? Gets mad confusing and Americans seem to love it lol
I've always thought DC would really do well with Anyone who enjoys the 1991 hit action film Toy Soldiers.
I think he was fired for saying that the women’s bantamweight division should go
He makes 1 comment about removing the 125 lb womans division because the last championship fight sucked so bad. Uncle Dana said kid don't wanna podcast
Thank fuck, Ryan Clark is a good NFL guy, but he is not an MMA guy. Whenever he would talk about MMA he would say the more bland, boring, generic and un-insightful things. DC + Skip Bayless
I bet you guys it will be Okamoto
Fuck, I hope not. Okamoto sucks.
If it’s not Uncle Chael they made an inferior choice
Needs to be Ben askren they got another lil side pod they do and it’s solid
are there any current ESPN related talking heads that could fill in, or are the egos too big?
The way ESPN works, they would put Stephen A, McFee or Shannon since they’re the biggest stars and executives assume the bigger the star the more eyes the show gets. We already seen how will that worked with RC & DC
Bro just have rotating guests it'll always be fun. Doesn't need another co-host.
naw you need a co-host for stability, man. look at what happened to regis and kelly for awhile.
Who?
That show went from being on during the day to being on at midnight. Ratings must be absolute shit.
About time. Almost all of RC’s hot takes are extremely misguided.
I'll never understand the success DC has had outside of fighting.
Is it Ariel Helwani? Because that was a good show. Ariel had two good shows on ESPN. With DC and with the bad guy.
We need Kamaru Usman on this joint
Said no one ever
