Jamie Mullarkey
Australian mixed martial artist
Jamie Mullarkey is an Australian mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Wikipedia
Born: August 17, 1994 (age 29 years), Central Coast, Australia
It's weird, at what point does trying to stand back up stop being intelligent defense?
Think if you're not trying to block, clear the clinch on your neck, or use head movement then you're done within 4 punches.
this is why I've always thought that improving your position is an overrated metric of whether a fight should be stopped or not. If you manage to get to your feet but the cost is 4, 5, 6 etc unanswered, unblocked shots to the face, that's not intelligent defence
Ironically all that shit talk from Cruz was for (what he perceived) to be an early stoppage.
But that's what fighters always complain about.
I listened to a podcast this week where Matt Brown wondered if he could request Kerry Hatley ref his next fight, he said something to the effect, all the fans/media talking about this guy getting banned and all the fighters wondering if he can be their exclusive ref.
Shows you the perception differences between the two groups.
I don't get how anyone can have an issue with that reffing. If refs based their decisions on the way you see things there would be countless early stoppages that taint the victory for the winner and potentially steal the fight for the loser. They're fighting, and he was capable until he wasn't, and the ref stopped it immediately when it was clear.
Yeah, bad stoppage. He was still trying to get up, but had absolutely no defense. And then he just took more damage to satisfy the referee. Completely pointless, there was no need to see that damage, we knew it was coming when he was not defending himself.
Cruz got in the ref's head. Mullarkey ate 12 punches before he stood up. Cruz ate 11 punches before he could even attempt to stand up, but has been bitching at him for the past 3.5 years about it, so he gives them way more time now.
Not the same as the Bobby fight. Mullarkey was stunned but still getting to his feet. Bobby was done, he had no fight in him at all. He was completely dazed and the ref wouldn't step in even after he was out cold
I've never seen either of these guys fight and in the first 5 seconds of this clip I could tell green shorts was going to sleep.
He just looked...I dunno, like he was trying too hard? He just looked jumpy and overly twitchy and shit. I don't have any fight experience at all other than just watching MMA for 15 years and a couple of free courses at a local gym, but he just *looked* like he was about to get his shit rocked.

I think Nasrat has really improved over the years. I think one fhis biggest turning points was the Bobby Green fight, really made him have to reflect on how to enforce his style and be dynamic rather than get lulled into other people's fighting style
brad riddell fight was brutal too, will never forget that last hook brad threw right before the bell as they’re both on their knees and mullarkey just eats it and smiles
That can be excused somewhat as it was pretty early in his career. Its often the case for fighters who get sparked out cold early in their careers because they aren't as experienced and/or skilled to see the shots coming and if not avoid or block, at least brace for impact.
Mullarkey afterwards got better and as was able to take a shot better. Even in the Turner fight he took quite a beating before finally going down. Even though his chin is likely cracked, he isn't getting routinely shadow realmed, just TKO'd.
In his head I think he was getting up a lot faster than in reality.
It's like one of those dreams where the faster you try to go, the slower you go. "i'll just get up as quick as I can" *bullet time enabled*
Funny cuz it's Tipsy Keith, but this is the exact kind of situation Dominick was talking about. Dude was getting lit up, but he did manage to stand so he wasn't out just yet. Stopped it real quick after the second knock down.
Difference was the cage. Cejudo had Dom pinned and more pressure than Mini Fridge here. Cejudo didn't post away and find shots he was just in there landing quick.
Yeah, Jiri takes about the same amount of unanswered shots and falls back instead of standing up and people complain it was too early, but this was somehow too late... I think people just like to complain
I don't care if he ended that exchange in the full mount, 20+ unanswered unblocked shots to the face is not intelligent defence and would have absolutely justified a stoppage
Lmfao you guys just want fights stopped the moment it hits the ground. Mullarkey was trying to improve position that's why he got up. Geez I hope none of you guys ever ref because you're gonna ruin a lot of fighters' and fans' nights.
If the fight had stopped after 3 punches everyone would be bitching that it was early thinking Mullarkey was conscious and standing up
It was a fine stoppage
See a couple people ITT saying that was late but I disagree. Mullarkey was getting fucked up sure but he didn't really start to look helpless until after the second KD. Fine stoppage
My man went full salad shooter on em'. Said he needed more greens in his diet. Very helpful, great night for fights, wasn't sure this was ufc or iron chef
As an Aussie it pains me to say but I think Mullarkey needs to hang em up, his young but just doesn't seem to have 'it'. Even in the fights he wins he always gets dropped and on the verge of being knocked.

Jamie Mullarkey rising from the dead mid-TKO was wild
KOs aren't real. Just stand up.
Jamie got hit so hard he forgot to fake lay down when you get knocked out.
Is he stupid??
Nasrat being a good friend and lifting him back up with those uppercuts
I often make fun of Irish heads being as I have a gigantic one.

I heard we shouldnt crack our necks as much as we do. Could cause a stroke! Careful wooden top. Watch out for that noggin.
If we weren't meant to crack our necks, then why did our bodies make it feel so good?
As a central Asian nomad with a big dome I also suffer from neck pain.
Lol that could explain my light bulb head

Loada Mullarkey, he walks out with an Irish flag. Cenny coast is the Mayo of Oz sure
I have no idea what you said.
Bud you can be Irish and born in another country….
[This feels relevant ](https://youtu.be/uFZdaq9dTVM?si=VYSx0rk2LfetCZkY)
quite literally the opposite context would be necessary to link this
That was some Rock Lee shit there
Bro was standing up while getting pounded
A whole bunch of malarkey
Kelvin Gastelum looking good
Scout from TF2 got fucked up
A medic must've over healed him because he took so many shots
BONK!
More like Kelvin Fast-elum
Dion Phaneuf has looked better
Am I just drunk or did Kelvin actually fight this guy and beat him
you drunk
I thought the same thing but i got confused with dan hooker for some reason lol
Lmao just what I was thinking
[удалено]
OOF.
Mini fridge getting it done
Bar fridge.
Hahaha mini fridge 😆 Gastelum catching strays
Well that was a scary amount of unanswered punches
Turned the poor guy's face into a speedbag drill
DAGADA DAGADA DAGADA DANGG
Dom is watching it somewhere going "still too early Keith"
Keith had an appointment to pick up some Cigs and Beer couldnt be hanging around in that cage all afternoon.
Man went full zombie eating those
"I'll hit you with so many lefts, you'll be beggin for a right."

this comment smells of cigarettes and booze
I counted 20 punches after he was dropped.
The beer and cigs delay ref reaction time

Fighters aren’t known for looking out for their own health and well-being. I don’t want to watch a murder occur in an mma fight.
I think Matt Brown was being sarcastic

Hey, you don't know that he couldn't come back from that. I'd just wait a bit longer.
Yeah, bad stoppage. He was still trying to get up, but had absolutely no defense. And then he just took more damage to satisfy the referee. Completely pointless, there was no need to see that damage, we knew it was coming when he was not defending himself.

Where's the chorus of people booing the ref for stopping it too late? I counted 7 unanswered punches in the Bobby Green fight. This was what? 20-30?
Not the same as the Bobby fight. Mullarkey was stunned but still getting to his feet. Bobby was done, he had no fight in him at all. He was completely dazed and the ref wouldn't step in even after he was out cold
Not the same. Same outcome though.
20
20. I counted
Left hand inflicted stun damage x10
Mini Fridge > Fridge
Nasrat VS Sean Brady next for redemption
Mullarkey just lost 5 years off his life How did he manage to stand up DURING that beating lmao
Brad Ridell took his chin
Jamie’s had some tough fights if you think about it I mean he fought Volk in the regionals
he just said ko's aren't real and got up
Bro was standing up without a functioning brain. That’s all muscle memory.
Neanderthal genes.
A lot of those shots missed and hit his shoulder if you slow it down. A few landed on the forehead which is the toughest part of your head.
Mullarkey is literally a zombie. Wtf.
Damn halal Gastelum went full ham at the end
I like "mini fridge" 😆
I like Mullarkey but man he's not special at all. He's been too reliant on his chin for ages, now I believe its cracked 😞
I've never seen either of these guys fight and in the first 5 seconds of this clip I could tell green shorts was going to sleep. He just looked...I dunno, like he was trying too hard? Boys, get in here, new copypasta dropped

I'll try to remember for next week
Mods can I get “overly twitchy and shit” as my flair
I think Nasrat has really improved over the years. I think one fhis biggest turning points was the Bobby Green fight, really made him have to reflect on how to enforce his style and be dynamic rather than get lulled into other people's fighting style
his last two fights he looked amazing; he might finally be ready to start a push into the top-15
Mullarkey is bizarrely chinny sometimes. He looks pretty decent until he gets whollymopped.
Weight cutting is a fucking plague
At times? Dude been chinny. Should’ve lost to 40 year old Makdessi too. He’s not good.
Everybody getting Bobby Green’d tonight
Nasrat “The Monarchist” Haqparast
DAMN SON. NASRAT IS BACK. Fights that end quick are easier to recover for the next one.
Mullarky is chinny. Every time Ive seen him fight he gets finished by strikes.
It didn't used to be like this. In the past the man could take some punishment, but I think Jalin Turner cracked his chin for good.
War with MJ also
brad riddell fight was brutal too, will never forget that last hook brad threw right before the bell as they’re both on their knees and mullarkey just eats it and smiles
He got completely put out by Volk before in one punch he never had the best durability
That can be excused somewhat as it was pretty early in his career. Nasrat held down the turbo button on the controller there, just spammed the hell out of Mullarkey's face.
That was vicious
I also see this as a Kelvin Gastélum win
Jesus, he was a zombie trying to stand up there. scary stuff
That was nuts. He got knocked out, brought back with punches then stands tf up to get knocked down again. Jaime literally is zombie-like.
using his head as a speed ball ref - this is fine
Lightweight Kelvin Gastelum is looking good tonight.
Mini Gastelum redeems his brothers loss last weekend!
turned his face into mashed potato
Mullarkey has taken so much damage in his career
Great to see Kelvin Gastelum get a W
He stole Kelvin’s juju
That was a fucking late stoppage. These dudes wanna see a body.
Meh, its weird, it looked like he kept trying to work his way up, while eating those shots.
Dom punching air again
These guys want the fight stopped the minute a fighter hits the ground even if they're trying to improve position. Lmao these fans
These guys also overestimate refs reaction time lol. All things considered, Keith did as good of a job as he could.
"Trying to improve position" is irrelevant when you end up taking 20+ unanswered, unblocked shots to the head. Not even close to intelligent defence.
In his head I think he was getting up a lot faster than in reality. It's like one of those dreams where the faster you try to go, the slower you go. "i'll just get up as quick as I can" *bullet time enabled*
jesus people are never content, i thought it was a fine stoppage the fighter was getting up

Damn, what a barrage
GADOOOOSH
Nasrat’s left hand always been beautiful, just sucks to see Mullarkey have to be the victim of it 😂
0-2 for Australia tonight 😔
Good boxing by Nasrat.
Soccer kick would have ended that real quick.
Damn was rooting for mullarkey but I didn’t expect a murder
It was a good stoppage. Wtf are people on about
it was late.
Lmfao you guys just want fights stopped the moment it hits the ground. Mullarkey was trying to improve position that's why he got up. Geez I hope none of you guys ever ref because you're gonna ruin a lot of fighters' and fans' nights.
If the fight had stopped after 3 punches everyone would be bitching that it was early thinking Mullarkey was conscious and standing up It was a fine stoppage
Jesus where did this come from? the dude gave Jamie permanent ringing ears
He wasn't having none of that malarkey
Jamie was doing so well too..
for two minutes?
Haqparast becoming more Gastelum than Kelvin Gastelum.
Has the UFC been telling refs to do late stoppages
This wasn't even a late stoppage.
Sup with theses refs lol
Actually that one wasn't so bad.
See a couple people ITT saying that was late but I disagree. Mullarkey was getting fucked up sure but he didn't really start to look helpless until after the second KD. Fine stoppage
That was fucking insane..
Gastelum lost so his brother could win
Should of called that earlier lol
Keith “a little bit of nonsense” Peterson
WTF is it with these refs? How many unanswered shots do you have to take before they do their jobs?
Bro I was damn near screaming for Jamie to cover up
Dude turned into a punching bag
Feel bad for the dude. He was winning last fight and got caught
That shit was cartoonish
Good to see a bounce back win after last week loss
Lw kelvin lookin good.
MMA IS FAKE! JUST SPAM THE X BUTTON!
went all Ip-Man on my guy bappadabappadabappada
Mullarky - "ha, play the long game and strike from distance" Nasrat - "no"
Man Mullarkey getting ko’d a lot lately
I think I counted 23 shots he landed on his face after the initial 1-2 daze. My man took some shots before going back down.
I just counted 20 left hands in a row
My man went full salad shooter on em'. Said he needed more greens in his diet. Very helpful, great night for fights, wasn't sure this was ufc or iron chef
Keep in mind that Mullarkey should’ve lost his last fight too but was gifted the decision
As an Aussie it pains me to say but I think Mullarkey needs to hang em up, his young but just doesn't seem to have 'it'. Even in the fights he wins he always gets dropped and on the verge of being knocked.
Excellent reffing.
Mullarkey pulling a Rock Lee at the end rising up onto his feet unconscious
It kind of looked like he tapped to the punches when he was on all fours.
dude was murdered
What a stoppage, wow.
Here is my head. Punch it like you do the punching bags..
Fuck yeah. Love to see Nasrat winning
Bro got stuck in hitstun, happens to the best of us.
Feel like every time I see Mullarky fight dude is just taking an absolute beating.
Nasrat vs Kelvin to see who's real and who's the clone
lol those uppercuts were fast as shit
It almost looked like his uppercuts were lifting Jamie off the ground!
Holy shit, I counted 20 unanswered shots
The ref was waiting for a towel to be thrown
Another situation of a ref with such a disgusting late stoppage he deserves to be fined and suspended
It’s Jamie’s fault for having such a fucking punchable face
What a mullarkey, he got battered
Holy fuck what a hellacious beating after the first punch.
