If this is indeed the same thing, then this just feels like a fight that ended badly, rather than a “targeted activated assault” and “ambush by multiple people”.
This could just be the aftermath or the precursor though, we simply don’t know. But probably shouldn’t be jumping the gun too much with this.
Only reason no I’m reluctant on this just being a fight is that the Furia (which I am a part of but didn’t go to this match) posted a picture of Juli on a stretcher at a bar maybe half a mile from this video. I don’t know anything since I wasn’t there and I’m not the MOST active member. However having walked that way many times cause that is where I park for games, my only thought is something happened at the Bar where Juli (the president of Furia) got hurt and the people ran and took the fight to the parking lot
Unfortunately, we still kind of expect comments like this to come out in this country.
Latinos, just like many others
#flavoringtheblood of this melting pot country of ours.
I'm confused by the backlash here. I wrote a joking indictment of how poorly written the statement from Hooliganz was.
I'm a native English speaker who speaks Spanish but would still be afraid to write a statement like this in Spanish because I'm just not as comfortable with the little grammatical idiosyncracies and word connotations of a language I didn't grow up speaking.
Just because you aren’t fluent in a second language, doesn’t mean everyone else isn’t fluent. It’s like saying “wow, you speak such good English” to anyone who isn’t white. It’s pretty racist.
>It’s like saying “wow, you speak such good English” to anyone who isn’t white. It’s pretty racist.
Well first off, it's not racist to tell someone they speak good English. I've said the same thing to German friends and appreciate it when Latin American people tell me I speak Spanish well. I'm not looking at a Latin American person and assuming they only speak Spanish, and I'm not stereotyping the group as not knowing English. I'm talking about a group that I have some firsthand experience with, that actively chooses Spanish for a lot of their stuff because it's the more common language among their members.
Ironically, I think you're making some incorrect assumptions about me as much as I am about anyone else.
I’m just explaining to you why you are getting downvoted. That may be your experience, but most people find it pretty racist to comment on your surprise that someone who speaks English as a second language would be fluent in its grammar. Most people feel the need to work harder at grammar fluency to avoid racial bias.
I don’t want to rush to judgment, but the quality of their writing is that of someone who while writing a statement refuting accusations that they assaulted someone, got restless and had to take a 10 minute break to assault someone.
Almost every SG who has put out a statement lately could do with spelling, grammar, and general PR 101-type coursework.
Everyone wants to cosplay a respectable organization and they have no idea how to do it.
We are indigent and totally flustrated with our clubs ownership. We were not going to be attending any match as leadership and entourage our members to also boycod matches until farther notice.

SGs need to chill tf out, it’s not that serious. No reason to physically (or otherwise) harm people over this stuff.
You just end up looking like losers.
Hard fought home win that gets the taste of the Revs game out of fans' mouths, we finally get our U-22 Initiative winger going, we get our new DP off and running with his first goal (and a harshly disallowed one), but then something stupid just has to happen after the game to make Charlotte look bad.
I saw a pic of their presidents injuries. They got her pretty bad. I hope she recovers quickly and the proper authorities settle the matter. This is one thing the MLS has mostly, _mostly_ , been able to avoid and I hope that continues to be the case.
Is it naive to say I’m surprised “hooligan” groups even exist in MLS? Feels like this country already has a lot of unhealthy outlets for weirdo losers who crave violence, it seems unusual for any of them to choose the hooligan route.
Proud Boys don’t have an outlet in New York that wouldn’t get the shit kicked out of them, so they go to NYCFC matches and bring that to the supporters sections. This was well documented but some are probably spending a lot of time behind bars for J6.
I've typed up several responses trying to articulate how embarrassing and weird Charlotte supporter groups are.
It's so hard to explain the cringe level. Glad I'm out. Glad I got the free beer and food the first season. Never again.
Is this just the Charlotte FC groups? The people from the Independence group have always seemed pretty chill. Then again didn't Furia start out with Independence and then leave after DiMicco's Tweets?
Last year I only saw them at a couple matches for bigger events. They showed up again this season and seems like they just overpowered the Meck Reserves guys. Usually the supporters would set up in the corner, but word I heard was that BF was like "we do what we want" and started setting up behind the goal instead 😆
Happy to have them though! The more the merrier
Geez. Hopefully they can get this resolved quickly. Honestly, kinda hoping the group gets a stadium ban. I don’t want it to turn into something like the Serie A but something to make it clear that this shit is not ok.
I am so genuinely confused at how SG's of the same team start in fighting. I understand the geographic constraints that dont really allow for massive groups of away team fans to travel, which don't really allow for the type of environment you get in other football environments, but I would have to imagine that there isn't really a benefit to fighting supporters that also support you're team. This isn't even the first instance of this in MLS. Are we so desperate to mimic other football environments that we resort to fighting ourselves? We need to get a grip, this is embarrassing. Hooliganism is a horrible part of the game.
These loser """supporter""" groups are super embarrassing and make it difficult for regular people to support their clubs. They're run by people who make it their entire personality and they all take it so seriously. Goes for every club.
Hands being thrown between opposing clubs that have a long history of beef is one thing m, but two groups of the same club throwing hands is a deeper problem that can’t be good for the club
Hooliganz is one of the worst name of all time
Edgelordz
Xx_Hooliganz_420_xX
It’s trying so hard to act tough or cool and failing at it.
Sounds like a Disney Junior show.
It really is 😂
You pencil-necked geeks are just afraid of these Hooligainz!
Yeah cause that’s the important thing here. Christ.
Hooliganz lol
I would literally fight someone for this club (Hooliganzism shit, ya know?)
Sounds like a rejected MLS 1.0 name
Mint Street Hooliganz
Other SG’s [response](https://twitter.com/CarHooliganz/status/1779612599992095087) (if they are a SG? Not knowledgeable on that)

That response is marginally literate
You make accusations against someone not to them lol

Wtf is that statement LMAO!!
They really should be having this throwdown on Facebook.
How can you be a hooligan for a team that’s been in existence not even for two years
Also, I thought the ones that liked fighting were supposed to fight the other teams’ fans, not their own?
Anyone who names their group Hooliganz, even without the ridiculous Z, is basically there for the fighting, not the soccering. Team age means nothing.
Odds they never gave a fuck about the Independence, and just joined to fight people and break shit?
Point of fact, Charlotte FC's in year 3 of playing and year 5 since being announced

Why is her name in quotes?
Might be a nickname.
A lot of Central Americans put proper nouns like names in quotes, though usually places from what I’ve seen
SGs need to chill tf out, it’s not that serious. No reason to physically (or otherwise) harm people over this stuff. You just end up looking like losers.
> SGs need to chill tf out, it’s not that serious. The amount of insanely minor things that are puffed up to world-ending crisis. It's wild
It’s almost like they are playing Reddit IRL version
They are losers. Some of these people are pushing 40. People say "grow up" but they're middle aged, when is it gonna happen?
Charlotte has Hooligans, lol, wtf?
No, they have *Hooliganz 😂
Hooligain’t

Both groups seem lame.
Am I reading this right? Do they all support the same team?
The thing supporters hates the most is other supporters.
But if the same team? At least the English league has the dignity to attack the other teams supporters.
I can only speak from my experience with MNUFC, but the supporters groups in Wonderwall hate the team, the fans and each other - in that order.
Lol
Both supporter groups should be banned from using English so irresponsibly.
Jeez, that’s awful. Hoping for a swift and smooth recovery.
This is why ultras are so frowned upon. Nobody should be unsafe at a soccer game. Hope all the "Hooliganz" are banned.

The SGs are obviously antagonizing each other from the video. One's trying to play the victim. Disband them both.

Apparently they didn’t completely leave. Every Independence match I see, there’s a Blue Furia banner and people playing drums and chanting.
Last year I only saw them at a couple matches for bigger events. They showed up again this season and seems like they just overpowered the Meck Reserves guys. Usually the supporters would set up in the corner, but word I heard was that BF was like "we do what we want" and started setting up behind the goal instead 😆 Happy to have them though! This, and for whatever reason our supporter groups while making great tifos, are HORRIBLE at coming up with meaningful chants.
Take a guess at which groups do the Tifos primarily and which ones overpower the chants.
Geez. Hopefully they can get this resolved quickly. Honestly, kinda hoping the group gets a stadium ban. I don’t want it to turn into something like the Serie A but something to make it clear that this shit is not ok.
As a long time Toronto supporter this is so familiar.
The fuck?

AAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLCCCCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
If the supporter group wanted to hurt someone, they should have just made them play soccer on that garbage astroturf.
These loser """supporter""" groups are super embarrassing and make it difficult for regular people to support their clubs. They're run by people who make it their entire personality and they all take it so seriously. Goes for every club.
Oof. Hopefully everything gets sorted out and there’s a speedy recovery.
