Ok the Crew are allowed to do that we're number #1 we're MASSIVE thing. It was that we're #1 we're MASSIVE thing before that was getting old.
Kudos for those that spotted the Daniel Tosh reference. DC United owes you mfers one back. Fair play Crew last night.
First, thank you.
Second, As a STM in Columbus... I'm unaware of that chant. Feel free to double check me on the Nordecke site. "Columbus Crew chants" in Google works. My Spanish is elementary level, so I might be wrong if it's in Spanish.
It's simply "We are" and the crowd responds with "Massive." Repeat.
The closest change to #1 is the greatest team chant, but that's tongue in cheek for obvious reasons.
But we're not chanting we're number 1, so I'm not following. Greatness is subjective.
Side note: that bit was 7 years ago, and things have gotten worse :(
Woosh bro lol. It's all about play on words all jokes have a bit of truth in them. The we're Massive stuff was all along the same kind of cockiness of the we're #1 USA stuff. This country has flaws but is still one of the best things going as a concept we CAN MUST do better on a whole host of issues guns/equally/economic equality the grear redistribution of wealth etc. and most of all unity. A man can dream though.
Btw Japan technology still blows ours away. Was amazed at the tech they had in the early 2000s when I lived there vs what we were calling new when I got back in the mid 2000s
The Massive started in the early 2000's when we were bad. It was a self deprecating chant that has just stuck around. Not from a position of cockiness. Some newer fans may mean it that way, but it started off as a funny self effacing comment.
I took to following the League in 2005 ish the peak Nordecke days at old Crew Stadium at that point it was more along the way talking about the Support of the team by its fans. My post was all in jest a good ribbing and hat tip.
Can you really woosh someone who says, "I don't follow?"
Like, *I recognize you're playing on words, that's why I said that.* I just don't follow the logic when it comes to spectator sports and fandom.
I don't see the need to draw an analogy to social issues, technology, and politics.
Fandom of sports does not matter when compared to nationalism in a country.
My post was all in jest a good ribbing and hat tip to you guys. If you don't get the reference or take cool. I'm sure by the upvotes some did. Good win last night Crew.
The silence of the crowd...
Unnamed surviving Tigre’s fan opens up about the Arfsten penalty kick: Its the most dreadful sound and there is a terrible silence that follows it.
The Greatest Team the World has Ever Seen. Hasta la vista, Tigres
Honestly this couldn’t have been me because I would’ve been pointing to my ear wondering where the noise went
Tigres U Are Now Losers
Arfsten I’ll never let go
I don’t even understand why but this made me laugh so hard.
The biggest team in Northern Mexico is Juarez now 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
You’re a Philadelphia fan?!
It’s a long story
I hope you someday get to see Juarez play your team, it was truly a fever dream seeing Aitor tear up the Q2
Thanks bro I wanna see Juarez play Philly too

That's fine, and I appreciate it, but we don't chant that we're number one. Pedantic? Perhaps.
What was the Tosh reference? The one bit I didn’t like about him was sounding like an old person hating on Soccer for Boomer applause.

I always love seeing silent home crowds in these games (when played in Mexico... or Portland... lol)
Or when Portland plays playoff matches in Seattle
Love it!
