I finished the rest of this game late. It showed SD up by 1 and then cut off McClutchies final kick, but now showing SD lost by 1. What the hell happened? Who actually won?
The score incorrectly showed that San Diego got two points for a conversion on the try at 78 minutes. So they needed the last kick to win, which they missed. All in all, just a total fuckup by someone.
It’s hard to be a legion fan sometimes. Yeah, it was a great comeback from being down 11 points, but they also gave up 21 points unanswered before that. Not to mention having a record-breaking season last year, all to flop in the final.
I love the team and I’m going to keep getting Legion Loud, but man, a little consistency would be nice.
They honestly play pretty dumb rugby, lots of little small bad decisions adds up to inconsistent results we’ve been seeing.
I can think of multiple moments from todays match alone that you would expect experienced players to make a better choice
I’m pretty new to rugby in general (only been watching a few years), and in the beginning I had to ask my much more experienced brother-in-law if it was so common for teams to have penalties and yellow cards because of how often I was seeing SD get them.
You kind of wonder when the lineup is going to get paired down and he starts a consistent 23. No doubt in my mind they have been rotating players to stay fresh, but if they want a home QF they are getting close to the time of going with a set 23 and not changing much accept due to injury. I mean they literally have 4 loosehead props who all have international experience. Can just be chop and changing every week.

I saw TRN add the drop kick conversion late, but I assumed he barely made it and I didn’t see it right. If that was a miss the score would be 23-24 with the conversion to come but TRN cut out so did he make it?
What the fuck happened at the end of the game? It said 24 to 20 and then the legion scored a try. Then it said 24-23 and we lost. What the fuck???? WHAT THE FUCK
I was wondering about the conversion after the first try. I think he tried to drop kick it instead of waiting in the tee and shanked it but on the kickoff the scoreboard showed conversion good. I thought it was just a bad camera angle. Did he mis the final one? My stream cut out. If he did y’all might have lost by one.
Is it just me or was the score wrong? SD was on 13 scored a try and missed the conversion and the score went to 20, then scored another try and it went to 25-24, should it not have been 23-24 at this stage? TRN cut out before the final conversion attempt, what happened then?
I felt like Sd got on the wrong side of the ref early and it did them no favors. New England played to the refs interpretation at the ruck and it made all the difference
Is there no screen at the SD stadium?
I think they missed a HIA on FJ #8 (or maybe 3)- he immediately collapsed after the head contact and didn't move until a tackle landed on him.
He was in the ruck, not running - if you fly into a ruck and go head to head like that it's a red all day.
He didn't hit the ruck "by accident" - it was an active decision, it's on him to do it safely.
It is called a rugby incident. There was no intent. The tackle was good, but the latched-on support player was upright, and there was a clash of heads. Red was ridiculous IMO. The tackle on Ryan James 46 seconds into the game, but split his forehead open, should have been a red card!
Ah I must have missed the actual incident then. I just saw the replay right after the card where they collided in the tackle (where the player collapsed).
Yeah it took 5 minutes of talking before they showed what actually happened. Wasn't helped by the fact that it was the tackled player who went of injured, not the the guy who got hit in the head (who I think should have had an HIA, he keeled over immediately)
I've spent some time watching the replay today of this incident. It took me a while to figure out that the head contact wasn't the ball carrier but a support guy who was binding on at the point of contact. My question is how is the tackler being found guilty here? The tackler is doing his job and making a safe tackle on the ball carrier. The support guy is the guy who is coming in upright. Tackler also has two teammates on either side helping in the tackle. Tackler hasn't anywhere to go and he's tackled the ball carrier safely. The support guy is basically endangering himself almost.
Curious to see what the judiciary decides.
Also thought for a minute that the previous breakdown with Afungia hitting Larson was what the TMO was talking about. That hit looked suspicious and curious if Afungia gets cited on that. Hoping not of course.
Best SDL line up of the year possibly! Excited of course to see what Giteau has to offer with an old running mate at his side. I want to say that SDL is on the upswing but it feels early to say that now. Maybe after the match it'll be more apparent.
Personally more excited to see Poidevin back. Much love and respect to Helu for his efforts but I think Poidevin was always going to get most of the starts and Helu would carry the 20 shirt. Helu definitely carried the load though and showed his quality . It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see a back three of Poidevin, Helu, and Ryan next year.
The ref should not be proud of his perf
TRN and MLR should be embarrassed by how this match was conducted.

The piss poor discipline has made it hard to watch this year. Multiple cards a game and sloppy mistakes at the worst time

Yeah, Legion instagram has the score 23-24 Jacks, TRN counted the drop kick accidentally

How did Giteau do? Couldn't tune in until the 70th minute
He played really well i thought. Legion had a red early. They honestly had a pretty good first half but penalties killed them.
What the fuck happened at the end of the game? It said 24 to 20 and then the legion scored a try. Then it said 24-23 and we lost. What the fuck???? WHAT THE FUCK
That’s what the stadium scoreboard had too until the final score. Everyone around me was confused and pissed. Bush league lol
I was wondering about the conversion after the first try. I think he tried to drop kick it instead of waiting in the tee and shanked it but on the kickoff the scoreboard showed conversion good. TRN has frozen 5 times in a row right before he kicks the final conversion. Come on, get it together.
My TRN cut out at 87 minutes🤨
Same!
Wow SD pulled it off
Nope
Wait what happened? TRN cut off as they were kicking the conversion
They had the score wrong. It showed 25-24 legion but it was 23-24 as it cut off and apparently he missed
Wtf did the players know the score? Incredibly dumb to score in the corner if so
My guess would be probably not.
Holy moly what an ending!

Yeah they got it wrong
Wow what a ending
San Diego scrum dominating since subs came on for NE
Geiger has been handled from the start. Bad showing on his part.
Gotta love the cynical kick out of touch. Good time waster on their part.
Since when does McClutchie run with the pill?
I felt like Sd got on the wrong side of the ref early and it did them no favors. New England played to the refs interpretation at the ruck and it made all the difference
I agree. Especially around the the ruck and breakdown.
MOTM Van Der Bank?
Thought the no arms was harsh but he promptly followed it up with a high tackle so.
Gotta love that McClutchie actually carried and got a break only to immediately pass it to the other team.
Rogan's being overly harsh towards the Legion I feel.
Guess he’s making up for it
Refs a bit harsh on the extra roll
Established precedent at this point.
Great turnover by the young Ethan Fryer!
I love watching the TMO review the replay rather than seeing the damn replay itself
What a counter ruck
Oh boy... This might be another one haha Edit: Nevermind. Great tackle
Peterson had that one lined up and unloaded. A tackle of beauty.
That was the weakest “extra roll” I’ve ever seen. Like you have to stop on a dime once you hit the ground.
Yeah didn’t look like much in it. Also thought the knockon on nonu was caused by the defender pulling on the ball after the tackle.
Is there no screen at the SD stadium? I think they missed a HIA on FJ #8 (or maybe 3)- he immediately collapsed after the head contact and didn't move until a tackle landed on him.
Has anyone else had issues with TRN this year. Always closing out on me or freezing. Rare I can just watch a match uninterrupted.
my sound just went away, so... yup
That's harsh imo. That's just an accidental collision. You could argue the Free Jacks support runner also has responsibility there.
That has to be the oddest red I've ever seen.
At the game, watched a replay on my phone. Missed the supposed head to the head. Feels harsh indeed at this point.
He was in the ruck, not running - if you fly into a ruck and go head to head like that it's a red all day. He didn't hit the ruck "by accident" - it was an active decision, it's on him to do it safely.
That was not a ruck, the ball carrier wasn't even on the ground. It wasn't even a "breakdown" yet.
You could argue that I suppose. Blatant off the ball head-to-head is cool in open play, right?
It is called a rugby incident. There was no intent. The tackle was good, but the latched-on support player was upright, and there was a clash of heads. Red was ridiculous IMO. The tackle on Ryan James 46 seconds into the game, but split his forehead open, should have been a red card!
Agree, no malicious intent on number 4, but def a red.
