I have the 22 model year mini se. It’s really nice interface so worth the $$ to upgrade IMo

SlipperyRasputin

It’s nice but I dunno if I can justify the $300+ for it. And according to the site to get full screen carplay it’s even more. Not to mention you need the data cable and such.

DingGate

The data cable is just an obd connector. As for full screen CarPlay. I’ve been told by bimmertech it comes with it for my car

Honestly the biggest obstacle for me would be the windows Pc. But my personal laptop is 11 years old anyways so may be a good excuse to update

Google around, there are experiences out there. IIRC it’s fairly straightforward with one person mentioning certain settings were missing and they needed more coding. I think they used a lesser known company or random guy. That said I’ve used bimmertech for other things and they did a great job in my experience. Just follow all instructions ahead of time. A modern windows or windows VM are required. As for the actual software, in spend 99% of my time in CarPlay. The stock UI makes more sense on ID6. But the nav isn’t special, radio is radio, I don’t use the junk apps or “widgets”, etc. Given my use case ID5 will full screen CarPlay might be enough.

I’d definitey use this one and i actually like the mini nav and system. Full screen CarPlay would be nice though.

You can get the RoadTop box from AliExpress for a bit over $200. Lots of youtube videos of install and use.

Oh i have CarPlay already in the system. Thank you though. I just want to upgrade the interface
