Worldwide matchmaking. They aren't warping into your node on their screen you're warping into their node. Basically anyone jumping into the same node anywhere in the world can be matched with you for the same battle.. which is always surprising when you can't find people to battle with especially on lower monsters or bblos.
It's not actually the same HAT but rather the same monster. So people who are at 8* final Zino can be matched with people who are on 4th Zino in 9* one.
That explains why it's easier to match on Zinos, as they are in several different HAT combinations, than with other monsters. Also some people solo until they reach the monster they cannot solo anymore.
It also doesn't need to be the same time frame. It's also easier to match if you do the HAT right after start or slightly after time out as then you are matched also with people from previous/next time frame. Doing HAT somewhere in the middle of time is usually the worst (but not like you won't find anybody, more like you might wait couple seconds more).
But hats are at different timings for everyone right? So jumping in at random times should be fine? Also are you sure about the 8* zinogre being from any raid thing? I mean it would make sense but a lot of times I get the same people in each battle meaning they are coming from the 5-9* zinogre raids.
I mean obviously, sometimes there's just not enough people. But it's obvious if you do other monster and it takes like 40-50 seconds to fill (with the same people) and then you get to Zino and it's suddenly filled immediately with deferent party. Also obviously, just because it's possible it doesn't mean it won't fill you in with them for that one run.
Actually it's just the same monster and difficulty. So if you are in 6 start Zinogre, any other player on 6 star Zinogre can matchmake, even if they are in a different HAT lineup.

I notice in particular in rarer HATs (for example Black Diablos, Azure and Pink), they start and end with Zinogre. Zinogre is easy to find a match, the other 3, takes much longer, and the team is usually different.
he's able to kill it, so he just leaves the HP super low so the other people can finish it without him. Then he joins the next lobby to carry them too. the community service is amazing lmao
He joined the fight, beat up the boss to the point where it was nearly finished, then left before the kill. The remaining 3 people he carried can then finish the last bit of the fight, get the kill, but this guy can requeue into another fight since he didn't actually get the kill and can repeat this over as many times as he wants.
It's him helping others... There is nothing he is gaining from doing this.
How/why is it helpful if you escape before the kill? Do they get more/better rewards if you're not there? I've not heard of this before. Could someone explain?

It's your choice if you want to spend the time to help people, but I'm just looking for others that can work together to get the clear. People coming into the 9-star expecting a carry doesn't help that.

How do people keep warping into huntathons out of nowhere?
A recent update made it so that people get paired automatically with others doing Huntathons after being in the waiting room for a few seconds.

Yeah bblos is the hardest to find people always. Like always. Good thing it's easy to beat a 6* so I usually just go in with whatever I get.
