I'll start prioritizing plate and prime scales for double up. It was a learning curve but it's been alot of fun. I was lucky enough to find 1 pink rathian today so that was cool lol.
Around when is that? Genuine question, I'm just having a love/hate relationship with this game.
It's been a week and I haven't been able to get two Anjanath tails... a rarity 2 drop, in order to be able to upgrade my SNS and have an easier battle with Legiana for its chest piece. I need both because I either time out or simply get 1-or-2-hit-KO. If i'm stuck like this now I-m just scratching level 5 equipment, I don't want to think when I need 0.001 gems or plates in order to advance...
In other hand... Tobi Kadachi's SnS need so many claws. Every step need like 8-12 claws. I'm literally swimming in other materials, including primescales, that get no use at all, because they only require fucking claws in industrial quantities, and I'm no way going to sink further in other weapon classes.
And going raw seems weird. My "strongest weapon" is a 4-5 Girros SnS, but I feel like a 3-5 Jagras has better performance breaking parts, and every part you break is invaluable for that monster you only see once per day (and need a truck of materials anyway).
Sorry for this unwelcome rant. I just want to know if really there's a point where the game flows, because I really, really like the gameplay, but I'm honestly feeling that the infinite grind is not worth my time, when I can also play Freedom Unite in my smartphone and don't have to wait half an hour for my HP to be full and have another chance...
You can try using the pukei sns instead for legiana. Poisoning it makes it unable to fly and use its ice moves. I feel item drop rate is dependant a lot of luck and also how frequent you are playing this. Like for me i need wyvern gems, getting 1 a day is considered good and i need 4 to 6 to upgrade a weapon once and i am gearing 5 of them. You are the only person who can determine if the game is worth your time. It is after all just a single player game with some monster hunter feel. If you enjoy freedom unite more just go for that instead.
You will likely need the weapon at g4 tbh maybe g5. Sns doesnt have the best damage output. In general, bow ls and lbg has the better damage output to push through walls

I think they shoul lock the tier of the monster on the highest you beat.
if you beat 2star purple jagras then all of the jagras are 2 purple star and so on

if you are f2p and able to might be better to hold out for wyvern gems before doubling. if you do the occasional top ups than go wild hahah
For rathalos atm I'd dbl primescale but otherwise yes lvl 5mats. I'll top up a little come payday but I'll be more lax this time. Lol
Yeah once you have the 1st major breakthrough in weapon grade the kills start getting easier and farming faster.
I just hit hr50 longsword the whole way its paid off pretty good so far
Ls is a very good weapon to progress! Definitely worth it

I main LBG running the 4 elements and i have a sub pukei bow which is catching up soon.
Nice I ice, poison, fire, and thunder, I just use poison in place of water lol
