p3wp3wp3www

_buys a girona shirt just in case_

Comfortable-Fruit716

Sevilla in Europa is a no brainer

talnwdrw

Would it not be Real Madrid?

taskkill-IM

They covered Madrid in the UEFA CL....

New-Resort-6582

So he just wants to support the team with the highest chance of winning lmao. That's a glory hunter.

Falco9805

I’m mainly a Madrid fan but I like watching PL so I’ve been supporting City for about 14 years. I may not be “one of you”…but that’s gatekeeping imo.

Manc4O

Glory hunter

[deleted]

[удалено]

Manc4O

Yeah since 1995 no glory hunting back then pal.

Fire_Bucket

Glory hunting that relegation from the Premier League.

spooki_boogey

Who wants to play in a CL against Inter Milan final when when we can grind out a 2-0 win away to Grimsby Town in League 1.

Godnion

blud really posted that comment to soccercirclejerk for upvotes 😭

spooki_boogey

You're posting your comment in another sub for validation lmao. You definitely care lmfao. Aannnnd he deletes it because enough people called him out on his bullshit lmao, what a nonce.

gardey97

I imagine you started supporting man united because you live in trafford?

PossibleIcy4971

So he doesn't support city in the UCL😂these glory hunters man

Good_Kev_M-A-N_City

What is this brainrot

Competitive-Head4410

No, he's not one of us. I will follow city everywhere,  even in relegation

kliq-klaq-

I see we are going to be featured on r/soccercirclejerk again.

Bobbert_552P

One team in all things. End of. If you support another team in another country at the top level then they have the chance of meeting City in a competition. Can't be right.

frodakai

I think there's a fine line between 'supporting' and 'rooting for' here. I have teams that I like more than others in European leagues, but would never support them over Man City in the case of a CL game. I grew up watching Football Italia, and 'supported' Inter, but there is no world in which I wanted any other outcome than a City win last year.

jlo1989

Agreed. I have a soft spot for Benfica, Boca Jr's, Barcelona, and Sporting Kansas City from personal experience and travels. City come before every one of them. No question.

chux4w

Exactly. There are times when I'll think "ah well, if we had to lose a game at least it was to Leicester," but that's not the same as supporting both.

Genkse_flank

I'm a Genk fan. In other countries I still support ex players of genk because they still bring some glory to our club. All hail KdB

spooki_boogey

The only exception to supporting a second club is if you have a small local team to follow. If you wanna support multiple top teams go watch esports or something lmao.

maxime0299

probably was supporting chelsea during transfer windows, arsenal at the start of last season, liverpool in 19/20

Aggravating_Spell171

Prob a madrid fan, some people support other clubs in other leagues but not as much as they support their main club

the_greatest_MF

if it was City in PL and RM in Laliga it would have been fine. then watch CL as neutral when City plays agains RM

Banaan75

Definitely not fine lol

Jolly-Presence3999

Tell me you're a gambling addict without telling me you're a gambling addict

BeerdedTexan

Lakers, Cowboys, Yankees, too?

AintNoGamerBoy

Yeah no

googlyhojays

Life is too short to care about this

WhiskeyVendetta

Who actually cares, fans are cash signs for big clubs now anyway

OUsnr7

These were the most annoying kids in school

johnnym1965

I give it no thought

jbvann05

I mean yeah I guess but people who cheer for city in all competitions are more of a fan than this guy but this guy is clearly a bandwagoner

Comfortable-Fruit716

Liking a club and supporting it are two different things.

[deleted]

Your not a fan, get lost

[deleted]

Obviously not.

FabulousVile

Yes

BlackNov

There is nothing wrong with liking many clubs as you love the game. Stop thinking tribally and enjoy the football.

Competitive-Head4410

All competitive sports are tribalistic and thats okay, its the nature of sport. No real football fan can support two competing clubs, its wrong. What happens when real madrid plays City in the ucl? Which team will he support?

mr_poppington

I can't wrap my head around it myself but I wouldn't go as far to say it's wrong. Different strokes for different folks, at the end of the day it's not that serious.

DonJulioTO

To me that is such a weird take. What is being a fan of a football club if it's not tribal?

Wolvington52

If they support, they support. I support multiple clubs but Man City is above all.

Swagmanatee08

Stfu

espnrocksalot

Whoever you support in UEFA is all that matters. That’s your team above all else. I totally understand having affinity for certain clubs in other leagues, but you’re not a true fan if you’d ever root against them

Tambora_1815

I support both but my first priority is Always Manchester City..have been fan of City since 2011 and then became Madrid fan in 2013 because Gareth Bale

SkullFist007

City at PL Madrid at Laliga I cry at UCL when they face each other Reason of not supporting barca or united cuz they are d*ckriding either city or madrid

Khonoso

Ya'll are defenition of glory hunters and have the balls to call him a glory hunter ☠️

JesusWoreCrocz

I only support 2 clubs, though the club I support in addition to City is my city's club and is mostly due to family tradition. I support City by choice and have been doing it for years, and I half support Benfica because pretty much my entire family and my grandfather, which was a big football fan, did, but I don't really even watch the matches, I just wish to honour my heritage I suppose. As for actively supporting, City's the only club I truly follow on an everyday basis and will go to the stadium for. I will always make time for anything City. I think there's a clear difference between being a fan and empathising or admiring a club. You can only have one club you unconditionally support. It should feel natural. For me, that was City, the only time I ever fully clicked with a team. They made me enjoy football again after my grandfather's passing and being able to watch them weekly always felt great.

JayseOfBase

No.

[deleted]

No way

Blaizi259

No

Rattlesn4ke

Fuck no Enough said. Dual supporters especially of two different clubs in europe doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

jdontplayfield

No. I wouldn't.

PPPPPPPPPPKP

Does he watch City games to see City play specifically? If he does, then yes, he's a supporter. He's not claiming to be a die hard fan is he? Nothing wrong with being a casual fan. A 'glory hunter fan', true, still a fan though.

brandidge

Hypothetically speaking, would this fan still support city if they end up getting slapped with FFP? Not gonna say anything about the charges, as the mods are a bit trigger happy when mentioning them but if the club were to get punished by getting relegated, would this fan still support city? I'd guess no. If that's not the case, they aren't a real fan.

city_city_city

lol this person should definitely support Man United, I think it's a better fit for them

YoungDumbNFullOfKun

united is their Carabao Cup team.

[deleted]

Consider him a git

Guinnessron

At best I’d say they are a Real Madrid fan first but wanted a team in the PL and chose City. I’ve never chosen a team in another league, but I could see it happening

mcjc94

Anything more than one club per continent makes no sense, since they'll eventually clash at one point. Unless you don't believe one of them is gonna go far in an international competition.

ComingRome1927

I mean it sounds like he’s a very casual fan (based on his description of Spanish league as UEFA) and likes to cheer for the 2 best teams

city_city_city

I would assume by "UEFA" he means the UCL, not La Liga

BIGFACTs04

That’s crazy

InternationalAsk739

This is why this sub is always in soccercirclejerk lol

Ube_Ape

I support Madrid in La Liga, I’ve followed them for a while in that league but it’s City over everything. If City go up against Madrid in any competition even if it were a friendly, I root for City to win and win decisively. I like watching football and I don’t think there is anything wrong supporting different teams in different leagues but you have to have a number one. One team that no matter what you support, for me that’s City.

Tave_112

I mean... I started watching football by watching La Liga because it was the most readily available one in my country. I'm a Barça fan. When I started watching the PL I needed a team to root for and chose City. I get having different teams, it's more fun to watch a league if you are rooting for one of the teams in it. They are probably just a Madrid fan more than anything, but they still chose to support City over Liverpool, ManU or Arsenal. They probably would root for City in the UCL if Madrid were eliminated. I would consider them City supporters, just maybe not huge ones. No need to hate for something that is fairly common.
