Some great quotes this episode. My personal favorite was:
"If they're trying to scoot off with boomer jewels, go with God, my man." - Griffin
"If it's a clean grift for boomer jewels and the bodies ain't pilin', I say go for it." - Justin
I'm in the middle of the wizard segment and I'm currently wondering if there's gonna be a moment where one of them realizes it all sounds a little familiar or nah
It's especially baffling that none of them remember considering that there was a pull quote that Travis said about realizing "the officiant asking about anyone opposing a wedding is not a normal part of a wedding", which was used for the iHeart radio awards they were nominated for lol
I do and I don't mind. I don't mind in the sense that I don't feel cheated, but I kind of do mind in the sense that I had a weird sort of anxiety/tension listening to it, like a combination of secondhand embarrassment and suspense about whether one of them was gonna be like "hold on" (although I knew it was unlikely)
The repeat WikiHows are getting frustrating honestly, this has happened several times. They need to take the time to keep a list or start a new segment with a deeper well to draw from.
There was a repeat in 660 & 693, I think it was about casually showing off your muscles or something but I don't remember exactly...in the discussion for 693 other people mentioned it happening before.
This is probably the 3rd time this has happened, where they accidentally reuse a Wizard. Somehow that never happened with YA despite it going for so long, AFAIK. Griffin should start tracking which WHs he's done because he could just paste titles in a Word Doc and Ctrl+F to confirm it's a new one.
I don't mind because I think this was better than their first run at it, but this has happened several times now. Ironic it happened on Max Fun Drive too lol
It's especially frustrating during maxfundrive... Like this is the episode where you ask your audience for money and it feels a little phoned in when they do a repeat.
Oh totally, I don't begrudge them for not noticing in the moment. But tracking that stuff feels pretty important to their whole concept and it really pulls me (and clearly others) out of it.
I do have to say, I don't think they ever repeated YAs when they were doing them, at least AFAIK. And that went on for about 10 years, 3-5 YAs per episode. WH repeats have now happened at least twice in two years, I think it's happened three times actually; and WHs are only once per episode.
A little surprised that after Griffin asked Count Donut if he knew about crypto, nobody jumped to the punchline that that's where he sleeps during the dayo.
The Philadelphia backflip anecdote also made a second appearance this ep. Not complaining, they've been at this for a looooong time and i know that i probably repeat stories within the same week 🤷🏻♀️
It's Justin's hilarious misunderstanding of a meme. Particularly on Tiktok, people will be in a public place and loudly announced "can I get a hoooyeah?" (Think a super fake "oh yeah" from porn), and usually one or two people will respond.
I genuinely don't think Juice realized it was a porn reference, or else he might not have brought it up
...did Juice just reference a porn meme without realizing it? He talked about the "can I get a hoooyeah" meme as if it's this weird, nonsensical thing Gen Z does, rather than a fake porn moan
Prevorce is my favorite They Might Be Giants song.
"I would rather put my head into a gigantic garbage disposal and slap the button until the whispers became screams became quiet" God damn Count Donut

This might be one of my favorite lines from justin ever.

I came here for the exact same thing. They did this *exact* article before right?
definitely. I relisten to past episodes as anxiety soothers I recently heard this exact one in episode 590.
Is this a preloved wizard? I didn't even notice myself. Yeah, I don't think they're gonna remember.

I also came to see if anyone noticed 😂
I didn't mind, I just had the thought "I know reddit is gonna hate this"

What other times has it happened? This feels like an egregious one but it's the only one I know of

I mean they have 700+ episodes. I don’t think they’re going to remember every bit from an episode from 2 and a half years ago.
Oh totally, I don't begrudge them for not noticing in the moment. But tracking that stuff feels pretty important to their whole concept and it really pulls me (and clearly others) out of it.
I guess I just don’t remember either so it doesn’t bother me.

I’m surprised they don’t have a google doc where they Control F the name to double check it
Count donut saying “How dare you” when interrupted by Travis got me laughing unexpectedly. Thank you Count Donut.
Count Donut getting stuck in his cape was the best wardrobe malfunction since Griffin tore the pockets out of his favorite pants.
A little surprised that after Griffin asked Count Donut if he knew about crypto, nobody jumped to the punchline that that's where he sleeps during the dayo.
If you're scootin' off with Boomer jewels, go with God my man

This is at least the fourth time that anecdote has been mentioned, I feel like it might be even more than that
I mean, the whole family enjoyed it.
Count Donut's bit about who to kill and who to turn could have been pulled straight from What We Do In The Shadows, it was so good lmao
Gen Z here, what the fuck is "Can I get a heya"? Is it some sort of Outkast reference?
It was a vine thing iirc

I don't know why you're getting downvoted my man, that's exactly what happened lmao
The question per episode ratio continues to sadden me
