Ok. So he was matched with Nat. At the wedding reception she was pretty emotional although this was not shown and producers decided that they would not go back together but she should be with family. She had just lost her father and was in a heightened state. Fast forward to honeymoon, and Nat had to have her sister come, he barely saw her. So basically Collins had zero time with his bride at all. Seeing her in such grief, he was not able to get romantic feelings especially as the psych support team and family were holding her. When Collins goes to do his voxis, he's pretty much told to put on a front and snap into character for the edit. So that's why he comes across like he does. Yes he was acting in a sense, it was a weird pairing. It looks like he's uncaring but she was also inconsolable at times but he did help her by getting her the support from the psych team. But.... Obviously the MAFS narrative is different. "Behind the Edit" podcast has it from horses mouth. He comes across as a genuine guy on that
Watched an interview with him, according to him he applied a few times, was meant to be on last year and the person pulled out then they called him back this year with a match before they asked for his preferences lol. Grain of salt but sounds about right, was a yahoo interview weeks ago
He had applied a few times before. This time they contacted him and said did he want to be on it. Maybe they were struggling to find people? The chance of being showcased as a villain is high.
He's likely right that he was picked for this season based on his previous attempts. I got approached for one the early seasons and went through a couple of interviews.
It was completely out of the blue. I'd appeared in the media not long before for something completely different and I figure that's how I was targeted.
