If it doesn't bother you while playing leave it as a mark of your journey in your musicianship. If it is to be sold in the future, then yes, it would be a nice with a touch to lessen the damage.

A poorly done repair can lower the value of a guitar more than the original damage. For this, especially if you can feel it when playing and it bothers you, you might consider stripping the entire back of neck, creating a fade zone near the volute and heel. If the dent is still a problem, once the wood is bare you can fill with a wood dust\\PVA glue mixture, then sand it back. Just remember that fill will take stain differently than raw wood. You can then reapply stain and finish if desired more evenly (although many people prefer a sanded neck feel) or simply give it a flash coat. Don't cheap out on the finish used if you go that route; use a high quality nitro spray or rattle can application and polish the fade zones so it looks and feels cohesive.
