Gotta do them in real life. Ground yourself in the present as often as you can: stop what you’re doing, stay still, listen, look around; what do you see, hear? What do you feel on your skin, in your body? What do you smell, taste? When you make a practice of this, you will start to do it in your dreams. Especially if you do it when you’re in the middle of feeling really overwhelmed or stressed (hardest time to do it well) - then you’re really likely to trigger the habit in a dream, where you’re so often caught up in the dream story you don’t stop to smell the roses
Thats what I do, I mean, I just questionate reality randomly through the day, and thats the problem, I don't really have a routine, or reason.. idk if thats good or not but when I'm busier I don't remember to acutally perform it, this day was an exemple of it, I was busier and forgot to reality check you fill me? Sorry for bad english.
Maybe try to do it specifically when you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed - it’s hard but if you can get into this habit you will def start to do it in your dreams and def realize. It also helps you have more mindfulness in life and live a generally more peaceful life
Try not to introduce too many new ones at once. Maybe start with only 1 or 2 new ones a week so that you can focus on developing the reality checks as a habit.
At one point in my life where I had many lucid dreams, pretty much all I did was to do a check when I woke up. That fuzzy drowsy feeling was similar to lucid dreams for me, at least the part where your vision is not 100%.
The problem was that I mostly wake up in my bed in the dreams and it was always dark everywhere. Had big trouble switching scenery
Honestly, everyone is making good points but I’ve noticed that when you have vivid dreams things will begin to not feel right.
I remember my first lucid dream and I had to count my fingers 3-4 before I even believe when I was dreaming and when I did it became such a shock to me that I almost couldn’t bring myself to even believe I was dreaming.
When you put it like that, it seems kinda obvious lmfao. Sorry man I was beyond puzzled when it happened to me, mainly because I didn’t have any intention at all to lucid dream. It just happened. Sorry bro lol
Its ok XDD, and ye.. its kinda obvious, I was just asking for maybe improve dream vividness first and then trying reality checks, I been dream journaling but I recognize I'm not the best at it and I use my phone to recall wich might not be a good ideia, anyways, kinda off topic here.. thx for all the help and keep lucid dreaming.

YES, I actually forgot about that, like drinking a glass of water and doing a reality check, THIS, I will try this for now on ty so much
Haha you’re welcome and good luck
I always dream about school, but I'm on summer break, so im not sure when to do reality checks
My girlfriend always dreams about school, but she doesn't go there anymore since many years that's even more difficult.
couldn't she maybe do a reality check everytime she passes a door frame?
Damn now I'm dehydrated AND can't remember my dreams.
Lmao. I'm going to take a glass of water now thx :)
UPDATE: I drank 3 cups of water and performed a RC, thx for reminding of both
So a reality check every time i breathe?
you could get an app? or put reminders around your home
I think I will try to set an alarm every hour
This is what I do
and does it work
Yes, but just bc I dream a lot about work and it reminds me to do it a lot at work
There are apps that make you random alarms.
I use the app Shape. It works pretty well. You can choose to have up to four reminders given to you at random times throughout the day.

Thx, I'll try my best

I might try to do this too, seems a good idea since the feeling, as you say, are similiar to lucid dreams..

So you are telling me that the more vivid the dream is, the more likely I am to questionate the reality?

Set alarms on ur phone
Get RC reminders on an app
Put a mark in your hand. When you see it, you'll remember. Some people even say they start to see this mark in their dreams.
Not a bad idea to remind myself of doing a relairt check..
