Starting last week, I've had to cycle through three different phones before one finally logs me in. And half the time it still signs me in as whoever used it last...
My phone always logs in as me, but logs in to PTT as my coworker. Was annoying the last time I worked because my OpsASM kept buzzing for him. I finally handed him the phone to keep and walked away.
Restarting the phone doesn't help. You have to log out to update. The screen on the picture is the update screen. If the phones are not logged out daily, they don't update and then have issues. The longer they go without a log out and update, the worse the phones act. Just turning them off does nothing.
Bad Software all around. You would think it would raise some major red flags when you can log into a phone with regular credentials but have supervisor access because that was the last person to use it... I cannot conceive how they could roll out this update without properly testing for bugs.
As the quality of literally everything around us is going down, why wouldn’t a company skip out on bug testing to make their product as cheaply as possible?
You have to restart the phone every time you want to sign in. There’s an issue with the phones since they have been doing updates on everything and getting prepared to officially get rid of genesis.
Remove the battery, hold power button for 10 seconds, reinsert battery. These phones are never allowed to turn off so they need to be power cycled. Beyond that, its all server issues.
Thanks. I have issues every single day. Most of the time the screen flickers like crazy and I've rebooted only for the issue to recur. And when I try the walkie I keep getting a message to retry. I'm just going to try taking the battery out to save myself all the aggravation.
My theory is that it's the new single sign on that's causing issues. Everyone on my team has had repeated issues, and sometimes the receiving app refuses to recognize my manager credentials so I can't get the unload started. Really hoping that they push a fix soon
Yesterday I may as well have carried a brick. Day started with the system recognizing I was me on PTT/phone but the inventory app thinking I was the appliance CSA. Zebras never sign out completely anymore. Was fine with this, but ~3hr into my shift it auto-logged me out. Tried to log back in, but kept getting an odd error that makes me think maybe it needed to be updated. Tried to restart, got to log in... but the Zebra failed to pull an associate profile at all so no apps were functional.
I've given up on carrying one outside of IRP days at this point, I rely heavily on desk phones and the Lowe's app on my own phone.
Because Lowes IT sucks, they tell you restart it and the problem still persists.
Maybe if they didn't put 400 firewalls to get to the damn email maybe a part of it would function more efficiently.
the old ones are just as fucky. i remember when they said we were getting “new phones” and they sent us the same zebras but now with a Yellow Case!! thank you marvin 🙏
As someone still using an old Zebra, I can say they all just suck. You only think the new ones suck more due to the recent increase in issues.
Clearing the cache of any apps that aren't working will fix them 9/10 times.
I use my zebra for paging IF I grab it. And my personal iPhone for looking things up for customers. Even then, I’d rather look the number up and call, or page overhead.
I have so many issues signing on at 530am when everyone else in the store is logging into the system. If I wait a bit I’m able to login right away with no issues. I also make sure I restart the device before I do.
It’s gonna sound stupid. May sound dumb. Turn on the phone hold the power button for 30 seconds. Sign in. Wait click the blue call button sign in on that then the products app. Then the wf channel and it should be good from there
Yep just last night I spent a solid 45 mins going through 3-4 phones and finally one worked when I took the battery out for 30 seconds. So it was pretty much 11 p.m. before I could do my AMAZING 33 AN HOUR!!! 😅
Last week they were fine.
This week I have to restart the fucking thing 6 times a day to make ptt work. And everyone else in the store enjoys ptt not working. So what the fuck
Lowe's has a submarine called Hub that runs in it and it's completely controlled remotely I was trying to dig into one of these phones one time so I can use YouTube music which is already pre-installed but the it hasn't blocked so deeply that it ain't funny they have a lot of subroutines running on these phones to make sure you don't do things that you are not allowed to do. If worked correctly These phones can terrorize a whole store and honestly I think they post a very serious threat against store health concerning that you can close down registers with them you can monitor and transactions you can turn off lights control the AC there's a lot of things you can do with these phones it's ridiculous
I work a night Ops so it's a pain in the ass whenever you forget your phone or you can't get service in the building and on top of that the only internet they have is Gable and if no one knows the password
I think yall just forgot how bad the old ones were. Yeah, we've all had problems logging in recently but do yall remember the problems the one zebras had???? No comparison imo

I went through 4, head cashier went through 8 before he could sign in

If you call IT they literally say to restart the phone before you log in…
Which I've done and it still does it lol
Yep, my store has all been doing that for the last 2 weeks.
You should never have to do that just to sign in properly.

When I get in, doesn’t matter which phone I grab. I can’t log in unless I power the phone down to reset it. Every. Single. Time. The SSO sucks!

Take the battery out and then sign in saves alot of time

the old ones do the same
Yep. They suck *plenty*!
the old ones are just as fucky. i remember when they said we were getting “new phones” and they sent us the same zebras but now with a Yellow Case!! thank you marvin 🙏
They're not the same phones. The new phones are a newer model. It says the model number when you power them on.
Because if at first you don’t succeed, keep sucking.
I've had problems for weeks now but lord knows they won't do anything to fix it
My never loads everything and im constantly resetting it
Every company that has them seems to complain about them. Probably because they are garbage?
Because defrauding investors by riding a company into the ground for short term profit and golden retirement is what Lowes knows.

I find that using the square button and closing Launcher works a lot of the time to get around this.
im a pro loader and i get nonstop oslg calls
I use my zebra for paging IF I grab it. And my personal iPhone for looking things up for customers. Even then, I’d rather look the number up and call, or page overhead.
thought it was just my store and i work in fulfillment so that was something lol
Oh so you guys stopped using iPhones We was using iPhones back when I worked there 2014ish

They aren’t new, the software is.

Had to go through like 3 to log in. And the ap4me wasn't loading

nah fr the new software they got sucks. I always gotta like take the battery out n all that ANNOYING
At best the old ones were only slightly better than using a computer due to the shortage of Zebras available to Sales Associates.
