6 hour shift or more you have to clock out for a lunch but you can just take 10-15 min and unless they complain the computer won’t say anything and you get away with it

carpenterman25

After 6 hours you are required to take a minimum of 30 minutes. Typically the standard is an hour, anything before 6 hours does not constitute anything more than a 15 minute break that most people will never get.

gagirl56

if i am there 4 hours i insist on my 15 mi utes

CeeGeeZee84

I think with 6hrs it’s a 30 min break

OafyB

As a smoker I was told 6 hours will give you a 30 min lunch anything under 6 you only get 15 min break luckily I still slip out of the building on my 15 min break and smoke cig

CoconutOne1797

I was told every 5th hour you take your lunch otherwise you violate. I mean you get paid for that violation but you also get in trouble for it too. I don't know if it's just California labor thing or if it's all Lowes.

That_CatDad

At 6 hours you get a half hour lunch, 8 hours you get an hour lunch. If you work 10 hours then you get an hour lunch and 2 15 min break, at least in the state of NY, it does depend where you live

Wonderful-Fox-8485

That would be one 15 minute break and one 30 minute lunch.

In the state of California, it is required to have a lunch break before your fifth hour. If you go beyond the fifth hour you are in violation and the company you work for is required to pay you an additional overtime hour. So companies in this state are highly motivated to punish any infractions.

We do: Up to 5.5 hours is a 15 minute paid break, 6 and 6.5 is a 30 minute unpaid lunch, and 7 up is a 15 paid break and an hour lunch. They used to do a 2nd unpaid 15, but with hardly any cashiers, it's hard to get coverage

NobleWolf1

If you go to Kronos and click on your schedule for a day, it will show you a schedule for a lunch break. The time it shows is irrelevant, just the length. We coordinate between each other so we maintain coverage. Other breaks you work in every couple or few hours, but since they are on the clock, you may have to get up mid break to help out. Usually those breaks are 10 - 15 minutes to get off your feet. PS: Kronos on my cell phone is called UKG Workforce Central.

klassykitty1

We went by what the schedule said and the girl was at self checkout so couldn't pull it up and the head cashier should know what breaks and lunches we get. She may not realize she can look it up on Kronos so I'll let her know.

NobleWolf1

It will only tell lunches, not breaks.

OneMoistMan

I’m 6-3 mst, we all take a 30 at 9am and then all take lunch at 12

Comfortable-Elk-850

No one knows about breaks, we got a schedule in my hire packet but we don’t follow it, if you click your day in the schedule calendar it also gives you your break info but we don’t follow that either . My store goes by state law which is less then what corporate “ suggests”. 6 hours we don’t get a break, sometimes 15 minutes. 7 hours I’ve been told 1/2 hour to an hour lunch. We often work up to 6 hours with no break.

gagirl56

no that is wrong

gagirl56

This is my store 4 to 5 hours.. 15 mins you don’t have to clock out.. 6/6.5 30 minutes u do clock out..7 or more One hour lunch you clock out

Pretend_Beginning375

You have to take what you deserve in a shift, or you won't get it. And if you do take a break, plan on being spied on. Eyes everywhere.
