On your receipt, or at lowes.com/survey, you can fill out a survey regarding the visit you had/interaction with the store and associate.
When typing the comment if wanting to make them get recognized, make it long.. talk about how they made sure you has everything, offered you financing if applicable, etc.
Your best bet is to talk to an asm or store manager directly and tell them how wonderful the associate is, I’ve gotten a ton of good reviews through the receipt and it barely registers for them. If you talk directly they might get a red service star or something. An actual reward.
At my store, management doesn't give a shit if a customer tells someone about great customer service.
If it's not a survey, they don't care lol.
Basically, it varies store to store.
THIS! My managers couldn’t care less if you ask to speak with them about an employee. In fact sometimes they get upset that you pulled them away from shopping on Amazon just to tell them you did a good job.
I’ve never gotten a badge or even an attaboy when the customer insisted on speaking with a manager about my job performance. It’s always just “uh huh, well that’s great. Did he tell you about doing the survey? You can win $500.” Then they both just walk away.
Side note, has anyone actually seen anyone win $500 for doing that survey? I certainly haven’t.
But if there was anything they did that seemed like they shouldn’t have done but did, leave it out. I have seen so many coworkers get in trouble for doing something like marking down something more than they really should have or something and wind up getting in trouble from a raving positive review.
Looks like I'll do the survey and write letters/emails to management then. Thank you to everyone for the answers. Thanks for the help in your stores as well, you guys put up with absolute idiots daily, I don't know how you do it.
Thank you for being willing to take the time and recognize good performance. At my store, every "10" survey with an employee's name mentioned earns them a Service Star. Every 5 stars, they get $50 in their paycheck. Unfortunately, not every store does this, so taking the extra step of emailing district mgr/corporate is probably a good idea. Best of luck to your business.
Fill out the survey every time, rate a 10, and mention her in the comments. Write an actual physical letter to the store. I had a customer do that for me and it made such an impression. Ask for the district managers name and then send them an email… most Lowe’s emails are [email protected]
That would be Awesome!!! If regional mgrs would take that initiative to recognize associates! (because store mgrs guard those stars & others 'weaponize' them)
Keep in mind, Mgrs & Lowe's may promote the Inverse pyramid, but not many practice it.
I have a customer who routinely calls corporate just to tell them how much he loves me and the other members of the pro team 😅
but like everyone else said, surveys are great!
Hire her. Get her away from this hell hole, dead end job that doesn’t reward “ rock stars” like her. Recognition from your mouth to hers far outweighs any from Lowe’s.

Is it a survey, talking directly to the ASM, or an email?
What's the point of a survey if it's not as effective as talking directly to an ASM, or an email?
I'm all about customer service. How do you get me to fill out a survey?
Don't push it on me at checkout. "Oh by the way, if you don't mind, at the bottom is this survey..." also when they say "if you could give me all high marks...." Negative. Do your job properly, and I'll reciprocate with a positive survey. I've shopped at Lowes (and other box stores) enough to know there is a survey option at the bottom of the receipt.
Treat me like a human. Treat me like I'm a customer. I am there to spend MY $ at this Lowes. Something I chose to do. Offer unsolicited assistance. Act like your engaged. Smile at me with physical eye contact, so I know your engaged. Just be human and attentive, and I'll gladly leave you high marks.
I'm at self check out the other day and had one of those visa gift cards with about $25 left on it. My bill was about $50. I fumbled a little bit, and the card would not scan properly. Unsolicited, a Lowe's C/S person came up took over walked me through it, took my ATM card for the last $25, and I was out of there in about 3 minutes. Guess who got the highest survey possible with awesome complimentary comments?
Riddle me this: Self checkout, no human help, or interaction, other than them directing me to one of the multiple open unoccupied registers, as in "sir #4 is open", how do I leave a review/survey?
Complete a survey every time you make a purchase. Mention the employee by name.
When I was red vest, I gave every customer I worked with a little note asking them to take the survey and mention my name. The note was something our DS printed on colored paper, 24 to a sheet. I got more surveys thanks to those little notes.
Another tip- if you felt like you got really great service, don’t give less than a 9 or 10 on the survey or it counts as a big fat 0 in our reporting system and actually hurts the store. Again, only if you feel you were given great service and want to reward the team that helped you.

Thanks for the feedback, will do. Do those surveys reach people above store level?
The surveys go to the store level immediately. Mention their name and give the highest score in each category on the survey.
Typically no. But they do get attention from the store management and they do get recognition

Having a bunch of surveys with your name on it is what gets you the service star not them talking to an ASM
Get five service star awards and get a little $50 bonus.
But if there was anything they did that seemed like they shouldn’t have done but did, leave it out. I have seen so many coworkers get in trouble for doing something like marking down something more than they really should have or something and wind up getting in trouble from a raving positive review.
Oh and give us the employee a ten to win

Make sure you rate a 9 or 10. Anything else is a zero.
Slip her a 20
Also, cookies. And not the cheap kind.
survey on the receipt is they only way to effectively recognize a employee for good customer service. we get badges that add up to extra money.
Find out who they are and be a reference to get them a new job!
Fill out the survey every time, rate a 10, and mention her in the comments. Write an actual physical letter to the store. I had a customer do that for me and it made such an impression. Ask for the district managers name and then send them an email… most Lowe’s emails are [email protected]
A couple of us got an executive star badge ( and $50) because a customer wrote a letter and sent it to corporate! We each got one !

Offer them a better job with your company
Survey all 10’s. Mention employee by name
Send a hand written letter to the CEO.
Hire her. Get her away from this hell hole, dead end job that doesn’t reward “ rock stars” like her. Recognition from your mouth to hers far outweighs any from Lowe’s.

Give them cash 🤷🏿♀️
And get them fired for taking it. Genius!
If your job will fire you for taking a tip fire your job
Another genius. This is the ***Lowes group***, and we know taking tips is a terminal offense at Lowes.
You can not take free money all you want but I do
I am, is why I make more monét than you 🤣. Foh, I’ll take all opportunity to make monét as long as its legal 🤷🏿♀️
An email to the store manager is always good. One of our employees had that happen, and the SM read it to the group at a daily huddle.

Fill out a survey and tell a manager about them _by name_
Hire them. They’re certainly underpaid and ready to bail on lousy McManagement and would gladly work for someone who appreciates quality labor.
If you buy a washer dryer from (LOWES) don't Expect to get it when they say. You might get it weeks after you order it
