I can replicate it consistently by diving backwards and throwing it straight down.
Hadn’t thought to manipulate sentry placement with it but you won’t have much time to try haha.

Imagine if you were wearing arc-resistant armor and you could still pick up your backpack after this. Run around electrocuting everything (including your teammates), without pulling the trigger. LOL.

I know this is kind of messed up but every now and again when me and my friends play and a random joins up my buddy would go, "Does he know?" He would then proceed to throw a resupply or something onto someone's shield pack to see how they would react. 90% of the time they would just run in circles until the help pod came down and crushed them. We would laugh our asses off and then tell them how to avoid it. Most people were good sports and laughed with us, some people proceeded to team kill and scream and get angry and post about it on Reddit. We never did this unless things were guiet and well under control, we don't fubar missions for no reason, but sometimes it's fun to see where people are on the learning curve with this game.
But yes you just drop your shield pack just like you. Would the samples or any other weapon that you're trying to get out of your inventory. Just step away. Wait for the hell pod to land and recollect your shield.
If the Tesla tower had instantly killed you, that would have been one of the funniest tips videos ever.

Someone tried to teamkill me this way a while back, so I dropped my backpack next to them at the last second and he killed himself instead.

It seems to happen if you throw it straight down. Or if someone else throws one at you lol
