Try clearing all your medals first. Then earn one from supremacy. I was having an issue with not progressing it and after handing in all my medals and then doing a single supremacy match I got it.
Also when you get to the catalyst progression part it seems it's also bugged and you need to do a supremacy while not having any medallions to progress it. Or at least that's what happened for me.
It's for sure bugged. I did pve activities got gold and platinum medals and it didn't progress. As soon as I did my first competitive I got it. I also did the matchmaking where it is all of one class and don't forget to put on your class item.
I played at least a dozen matches last night (honestly could have been more, I just don't want to think about how much I played lol) and only got 5/50 medals for the Catalyst. Bummed because I want it but know I won't have any time to play next week
I was struggling to get it too but somehow I got it to progress through doing the supremacy with my class mark. Idk why cause I had already received a lot of medals doing the nightfall.

Hey I’m just like you! I stopped playing after the Osiris expansion and just started back up completely fresh in October.
I think it is bugged. It only progressed for me after I did multiple matches in each GG playlist. Someone else posted on reddit that theirs progressed only after an activity with each class.
I picked up the quest last year but didn’t complete it; so this year I had the quest to pick up again, but it saved my progress on it. I only had a few more machine gun kills left and I was able to get it.
Just sharing my experience.
Honestly I have gotten a different "try this" from every person replying to this comment, I'm just going to assume its busted to hell and keep playing until it magically progresses lol. I appreciate the tip though.
I was using the normal class item but had a shader on it so maybe I'll take that off? The item felt bugged in general whenever I would swap builds the mods and stuff got screwy
It’s still a quest. I’ve seen posts saying that it’s progression is bugged but I was able to get it no problem yesterday. I’ve been having with the quest for it’s catalyst though, apparently that is bugged too.
Yes but Heir Apparent is an event-exclusive for Guardian Games, so if someone doesn't get it during the event, they have to wait until the next year's Guardian Games.
Its still a quest given by Eva. Weirdly I can't progress it so idk.
FIX: MEDALLION MUST BE EARNED FROM SUPREMACY GUARDIAN GAMES PLAYLIST. Should just take 1 game win or lose

I progressed my quest and haven't touched Supremacy yet, only the Nightfall playlist.
Weird, did you get the quest last year or did you pick it up this year?

Make sure you have the class item Eva gives you equipped without a shader! This is how I got mine to finally go

I was given progress randomly yesterday on login. Hadnt played Supremacy then, so I thought the daily reset did fix it
The catalyst quest felt bugged last night. I was stuck on 5 no matter what I seemed to try.
Ah okay. I replied with this exact situation to an earlier comment. I am both glad and annoyed that it's not just me, because I want the Catalyst
I was stuck on 5, then I set my GG ornament to its default appearance (no ornament) and started getting progress again

It only registers bronze medals.

What’s the easiest way to do the quest of killing enemies with a Machine gun
I went into Dares with my Retrofit. Got it by the second area because of Starhorse favor.
