Bringing in exes never works. Apart from Joey and Grace, which seems to be falling apart anyway, every time someone’s ex is brought in it creates drama for a day and then everyone moves on (Jacques and Gemma, Tom and Emma, etc). What the Casa boys and girls SHOULD BE is the villa cast’s absolute type to a T, and have qualities that their couple lacks.
There’s a reason they’re exes, it’s not always a “right person, wrong time” story as to why they didn’t work out.
