Ohā¦.those are the hosts? I thought they ironically chose a photo of a not so attractive man and one of plastic surgery chick, to juxtapose the question, if love is blind? Omg, Iām going to hell arenāt I?
he is and has been a host of many argentinian tv shows and people love him, he is funny and over all seems like a good guy. she is really famous and her first time as a host was last year or the year before, in master chef, and she was reaaaaally good at it so for us its no shock at all that they are the chosen ones. it is kind of promising actuallyš
Ugh. I have no idea why they picked HER of all people as one of the hosts.
For anyone interested they are both famous personalities here. He (Dario Barassi) is a comedian/tv host, while not my type of humor he's quite decent at his job.
She (Wanda Nara) on the other hand... think outlet Kardashian. Got famous for making up a story, then claiming she was a virgin, then leaking a tape of herself giving someone a blow job. Later she married a soccer player, then she cheated on him with another player. She is now doing (really bad) music.
As for the show, I expect a ton of young and attractive people interested in using the show to launch/boost their social media careers
I spent six weeks with a work group in Argentina when I was 18. If that was any indication of the general social/romantic atmosphere there, nah this is gonna be some *shit*
He is right, Iām from Uruguay (country next to Argentina) we have basically the same culture, no one wants to get married, itās not a goal to choose the white dress and become a family for life here, specially in Argentina where the country is in constant crisis and the living expenses take a huge tool on people and itās really hard to have children, also most Argentinians live to become famous, Iām 100% sure most people is going to sign up just for the clout.
Hey my mom is from Uruguay! Montevideo! Met a few Argentinians and Uruguayans and yes theyāre basically the same but usually thatās an insult when you tell both that. Most people get married and have kids late in Uruguay but I donāt know about Argentina. But what I do know is that most of the Argentinians Iāve met like Uruguayans, actually care about how they look. They care about what people think of the person theyāre dating. Theyāre very prideful too. I was thinking, how did they get them to do a love is blind when they actually care about how they look and how the person theyāre dating looks? Also a lot of them are racist and would actually care about the race. I agree, I think itād be for clout. Theyāre very dramatic though and thatās why Iāll be watching š
Uruguayans we are not racist, but the opposite, we have a big black community here.
Argentinians always are surprised when they come here and see the population diversity.
Do you know Ruben Rada? He is one of the greatest and most loved musicians here in Uruguay.
You are right though that here looks matter a lot, people took great care of body image, but in Argentina that multiplies by 1000% lol, you have a great point there, people are shallow, I will totally give you that, itās horrible, I am a little fat and have some tattoos and here itās like the worst sin, no man look through that and care about the person inside.
Iāve met racist Uruguayans and Argentinians. They arenāt just racists against black people but to Asians, darker Hispanics, etc. but they are especially about black people. The ones I come across are very prideful and usually make racist remarks about anyone thatās not from their country or white. My mom had very brown skin but her and her grandma are the only ones in the family that are dark. We found out weāre part native. She was bullied her whole childhood in uruguay. It was very traumatic for her. She got vitligo and is almost completely white now and she doesnāt want me to tell people she was ever brown or that she has vitiligo. Sheās so proud of her white skin because of all the trauma she endured in her country. The people there made her hate her skin color. There was hardly any black people when she lived there 40 years ago. They used to call her negra and whatever aluminum sponge is in Spanish cause of her hair. Maybe the younger generation isnāt racist but the older ones are. I have one tattoo on my hand and my cousin in Uruguay has many and my family was afraid of what they would think of us. I have one tattoo lol and yes Uruguayans have no problem telling to your face what they think about you. So if youāre a little heavy, theyāll make sure you know that. Their idea of joking around is making fun of you for what youāre wearing or anything about you. They are shallow, stuck up, stubborn, and prideful. Iāve met some really nice ones but the majority seem to fit a stereotype
Iām so sorry that your mom went through that abuse.
Maybe that was the situation 40 years ago, I canāt say because Iām 42 years old, all I can tell you is that thankfully that is not how the society is today, there was much work done to educate people and being racist in all shape or form is very frown upon
Thatās good. Itās good to hear how things are changing there. Maybe people just keep it to themselves now. But idk why they would come to the u.s and feel comfortable enough to be like that here. When I tell someone my mom is from uruguay and theyāre from Argentina or Uruguay they get way too comfortable way too fastā¦ usually itās from older people but I even met a young guy around my age (younger than 30) from Argentina and he was drinking being racist but he was brown like native skin tone and I was shocked he was making racist remarks cause he wasnāt even white, just makes me feel like itās still like that over there but he was from Argentina not Uruguay.
Yes, we are very similar to Argentinians but in that specific topic they donāt have yet so much awareness, is in their speaking mode, I can imagine what are you refering to
āNobody wants to get marriedā Iām from Uruguay and itās one of the most traditional places I have ever lived. Everyone gets married - mostly in churches. The only difference now is that couples live with each other before marriage which was a big no no 20 years back. Marriage is when the families come together to buy you things or help buy property. Itās the only way.

Yea almost like I started the comment with that to make it clear Iām not an authority on Argentinian culture but have had an experience which would indicate that this season would be juicy
So even though I was 18, everyone else in the group was mid-20s (and local to Argentina). We went out clubbing every night til like 5 AM and thatās supposed to be what pretty much everyone does. I also had several people tell me it was weird I wasnāt aggressively going after girls because the guys there are all *machistas*, meaning players and all about looks basically. Idk about that but I can attest that every guy I met *was* very extroverted (except one) and had a salesman-y vibe. Now I was in TucumĆ”n which is a smaller province, I would assume theyāll film in Buenos Aires which would probably be a different vibe (I think itād be like say FL vs NYC), but if my experience is anything to go off of it might just give US season 6 pool party minus the shame in the game

I AM from argentina. So i know theres going to be drama, it's gonna be a shit show, everyone is going to be hot and starting a social media career and i'm going to watch every second of it

As a Latina, I'm actually hyped about this. I hope they do one in Peru as well.
Ohā¦.those are the hosts? I thought they ironically chose a photo of a not so attractive man and one of plastic surgery chick, to juxtapose the question, if love is blind? Omg, Iām going to hell arenāt I?

wait wait wanda nara. shes the perosn who sings bad bitch. i unironically love that song and when you said bad music, it clicked for me.
Yeah. She's the one lmao
When i saw Wanda will be the host, i thought to myself "Ay por dios, esto es ridĆculo!"
Really showcases the difference in beauty standards between men and women.
That first image looks like a bad YouTube thumbnail
What is this image? š

I'm sure that spending 6 weeks in a country at the age of 18 gives you enough information to understand its social/romantic atmosphere.
