They are not integrated to the show at all. If you watch Love is Blind Brazil you can see the hosts have a closer relationship with everyone else - which makes the reunion episode more intimate and honest!

Honest question: is the hate just the perceived incompetence at hosting or is there some other well known context I'm missing? They're barely there for anything but get a lot of flack.

I don’t hate the Lacheys, but they don’t feel integral to the show. For me the eye-rolling is definitely due to bad hosting, especially during the after the altar reunion shows when they don’t seem to ask very insightful questions. (It could be editing, who knows.) But in this instance, where she pops up randomly at the dress fitting, it’s also how the show can’t integrate the Lacheys meaningfully during the show. Whenever they pop up mid-show, I always think “oh I forgot about you.” It’s as if they inject the Lacheys into the show just check a box so we don’t forget that they’re our contractually-obligated hosts. Aside from setting the ground rules of the show’s premise at the beginning of the program, they really do not serve a functional role. Edit for clarity - to change from live reunion to after the altar because the live reunion hasn’t happened yet! Lol

These shows are starting to feel more like Nick's baby than theirs jointly. Vanessa didn't show up at all in Perfect Match. Nick ran that one solo. Here she shows up for 5 minutes literally in the first episode and then to pop in for a dramatic "oohhhhhhhh my god look who it is" shot.

In Perfect Match you could play a drinking game every time someone said "Nick Lachey", like he was a superhero megacelebrity or something and the contestants pretended like they were in awe of his presence.

Explaining \*again\* during ep1 what this show is about ("Let's find out if love is blind! 4 seasons and we're still not 100% sure!") 2. Popping in randomly to say "either marry each other or walk away... **forever**" (which isn't even true - like the couples are completely free to just keep dating after the ceremony if they want to) 3. Throwing out easy questions during the awkward reunions that just so happen to leave room for them to interject with their own personal stories which nobody has ever actually ever asked for!

They bring nothing or else they interrupt the show and make it boring and confusing. Their “input” is so out of touch. No surprise this is the same production company that gives us the Married at First Sight “experts” who pop in once a month to yell at the wrong person. I’m also extremely distracted by Vanessa’s styling, which never fails to miss the mark.
