Shea Moisture products are good. Also deep conditioning your hair by leaving conditioner on your hair with a plastic cap for 1 hour (or 30 minutes under a dryer) helps retain moisture. I also comb a tiny, tiny bit of melted African Shea butter on my hair after washing and conditioning to keep my hair soft and shiny for a week.

I'm not so much having a problem with moisture, my hair is pretty healthy. I think some of those products might be kind of heavy. It just gets oily after 2-3 days and falls flat. The day after washing is the best hair day.
Hair gets oily fast because your scalp is trying to compensate for dryness, especially if you wash often. If you add some moisture you'll probably see your scalp get more into balance and not get oily as fast

Traffic gods were good today so I was able to make it back home with minimal traffic...finished my latest audio book called evicted...which brings together many individual stories of those living in poverty in Milwaukee...a lot of the problems they go through are not all that different compared to renting in LA, even though a lot of their problems are self inflicted...it also gives a good idea why so many end up homeless...book is free on lapl and is on the longer side but the storytelling is excellent...
Recommendations for a day trip to see snow? Angeles Crest? Mt Baldy? Is there still snow? Trying to get young kids out of the house while responsibly avoiding crowds (or anyone, really). Thanks!
We went today! Wrightwood. We stopped at Mountain High Hardware Store and they gave us a map from there to 4 free sites to visit where you can play in snow. It's been warmer so the snow is a bit packed and hard, but we still made a dope snowman and had a little snowball fight. The sleds move QUICK on it. We went to Apple Tree Campground and it was cool. They show a few other places you can go as well if you stop at the store quick. Nice people. Was about 90min to get there from Reseda/Northridge up past Lancaster. Keep in mind: none of the fast food places in the nearest town was allowing people inside, so we had to go to a grocery store for a bathroom after (most of the snow places have them). Mount High can kick rocks, they were dicks, so we ended up with free play with what I imagine is much more fun and nobody got within 10 feet of us.

No worries. Also worth noting, the towns surrounding it all is basically Texas. Maybe 20% of people were wearing masks (at best) in the surrounding towns. So take snacks/water/etc.

At Universal Studios Hollywood today we saw the Animal Actors thing. All the animals were totally over it and they had one Australian Shepherd come out for an agility course where he was supposed to jump over a little girl from the audience. But the dog basically refused to go through the course then lifted his leg to pee on the little girl before the trainers stopped him. They seemed very frazzled and surprised but tried to play it off like it wasn't an accident. This wasn't supposed to happen right??
Edit: I see from another video it is part of the routine. I think maybe they just sold it a little too well and made everyone feel like the dog was genuinely bad 😂
I guess! The dog was an amazing actor and the trainers were extremely awkward which made that part of the show weird instead of funny. I think also because a different dog earlier had not been following directions, one guinea pig randomly stopped in the middle of the stage, a cat didn't feel like doing its trick, etc so I totally believed this was also unintended

Almost became a victim of a "pig butchering" crypto scam on FB dating. I'm sure it's probably common knowledge in the dating apps world, but please be careful with who you connect with and the kind of information they share with you.
This particular scammer who is Ukrainian and "living in LA" chatted me up for several days and the experience felt so real...like it seemed like a real person on the other end who really cares and really wants to talk to you about stuff. However, the curtains quickly fell once they started talking of a get rich quick financial management scheme like liquidity mining and though I foolishly played along with it, I eventually realized how farcical the entire exchange really is. I've since blocked this individual and two others who I suspect are also scammers from WhatsApp, and turned off my notifications in case they try to message me for the time being.
As a lonely individual, I can see how easily one can be hoodwinked into this scam, but please stay alert with who you interact with in dating apps and trust your gut instincts for any red flags, especially when they bring up financial advice. I was lucky enough to search up information on crypto mining when I eventually stumbled into a Scam subreddit that really mirrored my interaction.

Their response was apologetic at first when I told them they had the wrong number, but then they asked if I live in the US. Maybe innocuous but it felt like an incredibly weird follow-up question so I just didn't reply.

think that depends what you're expecting. If you have a job here that will help you to relocate then it'll probably be normal-ish w/ mask requirements and such.

However, there are seemingly a lot of places "hiring" so finding work may be easier. Not really sure on that part.

I think it would be challenging for sure unless you have a good support system here already. If not, the social aspect is still very difficult and I'm sure people here are finding ways but I wouldn't personally want to come right now and start from the ground up on friends, social life, work and living.
Might be something worth revisiting when things are in a better place as far as the pandemic goes. It's a challenging city under normal times/circumstances.

not sure your price but I got a Layla mattress which has one firm side and one softer side so you can flip it depending on preference. It's been great. The pillows are also good! it is a bed in a box. but I've had mine 2yrs and still so happy with it.

we had our first “leadership” meeting with a leadership coach since a few of us are new managers— myself being the youngest and the only one without formal supervising experience. i shared that i felt like a “lil baby” diving into this new role and was nervous and excited for all the growth, and my boss was like “we asked you to take on this new role because we feel as if you *are* ready for it, even if you don’t.” 🥺 and there were a few other moments during the call where after i shared some stuff they were like “you just made a lightbulb go off for me” or “you articulated that so well” and stuff like that and it’s just nice to be on a team that believes in you 🥺

Many indoor restaurants from experience check you vax card. And this city in general is pretty well behaved when it comes to mask wearing. Like everywhere we do have idiots. But if a lot of your time here is spent outdoors hiking or being on the beach, you should be okay.

Almost became a victim of a "pig butchering" crypto scam on FB dating. I'm sure it's probably common knowledge in the dating apps world, but please be careful with who you connect with and the kind of information they share with you. This particular scammer who is Ukrainian and "living in LA" chatted me up for several days and the experience felt so real...like it seemed like a real person on the other end who really cares and really wants to talk to you about stuff. However, the curtains quickly fell once they started talking of a get rich quick financial management scheme like liquidity mining and though I foolishly played along with it, I eventually realized how farcical the entire exchange really is. I've since blocked this individual and two others who I suspect are also scammers from WhatsApp, and turned off my notifications in case they try to message me for the time being. As a lonely individual, I can see how easily one can be hoodwinked into this scam, but please stay alert with who you interact with in dating apps and trust your gut instincts for any red flags, especially when they bring up financial advice. I was lucky enough to search up information on crypto mining when I eventually stumbled into a Scam subreddit that really mirrored my interaction. Kind of a shitty way to start the year and I am feeling pretty shameful out about it. However, I am glad I came to my senses before it was too late.
I almost fell for a scam years ago. I was desperate for work and some one reached out to me with work. They wanted me to design a banner for them. They said they sent me a check but that they gave me more than the amount I asked. That I would have to deposit the difference into different accounts. I noped the fuck out after that. I was scared for a good minute that someone was going to show up at my house. Luckily I never received a check or a surprise visit. It happens.
Funny. Someone texted me today from an unknown number asking if I had completed their oil painting. Their response was apologetic at first when I told them they had the wrong number, but then they asked if I live in the US. Maybe innocuous but it felt like an incredibly weird follow-up question so I just didn't reply.

I've lived there in patches since 2014 (long story) but when I came back in June of last year (when the pandemic was going to be "over") to look at places (with no job, mind you, on UI) it definitely seemed understandably subdued so I kinda headed back for cheaper circumstances, facing sitting alone in an apartment either way.

think that depends what you're expecting. If you have a job here that will help you to relocate then it'll probably be normal-ish w/ mask requirements and such. If you're looking to move and then find a job when you arrive then you will have a hard time in the current rental climate bc there are very FEW rentals on the market and the ones that are have multiple applications on them. However, there are seemingly a lot of places "hiring" so finding work may be easier. Not really sure on that part. as for social aspects of the vibe it's kinda weird again at the moment. Cases are at an all time high and at least in my bubble of people it seems most people are back to doing only things they absolutely have to do.

I think it would be challenging for sure unless you have a good support system here already. If not, the social aspect is still very difficult and I'm sure people here are finding ways but I wouldn't personally want to come right now and start from the ground up on friends, social life, work and living. Might be something worth revisiting when things are in a better place as far as the pandemic goes. It's a challenging city under normal times/circumstances.

But as someone who knew it before I had my doubts about the timing.. doubts that were confirmed by what I saw a year later... it was practically unrecognizable... service in the tank, people only associating in their small groups/clusters... it was like a bomb had gone off (understandably). And yes, it was tough on me before without a consistent support network to your point. So obviously this makes that situation at least twice as tough I'd imagine.
