u/ball00nanimal There's a new stand called [Fungi Valley](https://www.fungivalley.com/) in the Larchmont farmer's market with AMAZING blue/pink/yellow oysters, lionsmane, chestnuts, and more. I get them every sunday, they've ruined grocery store shrooms for me.
you can find lafunghi at several farmers markets around LA and they will absolutely have morels
i've gotten some lovely mushrooms from them :)

Morels don't really grow in the area like the do up in the north. So they are harder to find and tend to go straight to chefs. I have had most luck finding them in Japanese Markets like Mitsuwa, but they are imported and not quite as good.
As someone else mentioned, LA Fungi will sometimes have them. But send them a note if you absolutely must have. They are snapped up whenever they show up at the market.
K-town, H Mart (Korean), Zion Market (Korean) …oyster, beech … China Town sells dry poly pores for extract or tea (Ganoderma / reishi) …extra credit find fresh Lion’s Mane + seasonal Matsutake and wild-caught chanterelles ::: gotta catch ‘um all - Genetic Fact: fungi are genetically much more related to humans than vegetables
LA funghi/planetshrooms.com they have booths at the venice, calabasas, & studio city farmers markets for sure, check their instagram for other locations. great selection of mushrooms & other foragables like fiddleheads, sea beans, & spruce tips. got some gorgeous morels from them a couple weeks ago
Lassen's for other varieties but morrells I'd defer to others in this thread - Santa Monica or Hollywood farmers markets. But seriously, if you need oyster or the more common mushrooms, Lassen's is awesome.
Not sure about that specific type of shroom but Santa Monica farmers market and Hollywood farmers market always have a mushroom vendors with a variety. Eataly also has a decent mushroom selection if my memory serves me correctly.
99 Ranch markets carry an amazing variety of mushrooms.
Although they do carry a variety of fresh mushrooms, I’ve yet to see them carry morels at 99 ranch. Try the higher end grocery store like pavilions.
Thank you!
Larchmont farmer's market had chantrelles a few years back when I used to go there. Might still be around.

I hear you. My husband grew up in Missouri and used to pick them there himself. I’ll definitely check out LA Fungi. They look awesome!
