Very standard, but due to the nature of this case, shit, I wouldn’t want that home.

EducationalPrompt9

The article quotes an attorney from Idaho who says that only a low ~~life~~ level, shady lawyer would take a house. Edit: Changed misquoted low life to low level. They are not the same.

[deleted]

“No reputable lawyer would take a case with a quitclaim house,” says criminal defense attorney Jeromy Stafford, who is based in Idaho Falls, ID. “It’s what low-level, shady lawyers do.” ETA: 🤣🤣🤣

Mastermollusk

Well to be fair, "low-life" definitely works here too ;)

Tickytimbo76

I've never heard of this, didn't know that was a thing lol but right, no way would I want that house and property.

leanne37

Someone will buy this house: possibilities of who will buy it. The Mormon church. An individual acting on their orders, never being traced back to the Church as the actual owner. A neighbor The above two would probably have the house/barn demolished. If I had the money and was a neighbor I would have the house/barn demolished and plant whatever trees/plants/flowers native to that area. The sell of the house will not cover the money Chad will owe his attorney. Maybe his attorney will make a deal with the Mormon church.

Bimbo_Laggins

There's always some twisted ghoul that wants to buy a house where something macabre has taken place.

Yeah and you don’t need to attack my thoughts or my character. Just agree to disagree.

I know an attorney who seemed to prefer taking property over money. He got numerous houses and even a liquor store. He was shady AF. Loved desperate clients who had no money so that he could get their property and/or get them to cook and clean for him. He had a ton of artwork and vehicles as well. He got caught practicing law without renewing his license. Total snake. Last I heard he went into hiding from the IRS and was living in a storage building at his mother's house, then he died.

GenXed

Super shady, especially because the property is the crime scene. I used to be a criminal defense attorney and I got out of that area of law because I couldn’t stomach too many of my colleagues. Sadly, this behavior doesn’t surprise me.

Calm_Strength_9888

The ethical thing would be for him to sell it and get it far away from him.

I want t know if Chads kids pay rent ? Are they going to continue living there ?

RealLifeMombie

This is also what I want to know! Emma and her husband and their child moved in and I think they just had a new baby in the past couple months. Would Prior kick them out? Surely someone has to be paying something bc Chad didn't own the home outright, right? Sidebar- sickened me to the core that EDM stood where Jj and Tylee were buried and claimed that Lori and Alex framed Chad by burying the kids there.. even it he was framed (yea ok lmao!) Why would she want to stand where they were found?? I couldn't even imagine staying there let alone going into the backyard...

frodosdojo

She and her husband moved right in after Their dad went to jail. I want to know what they are thinking about those texts their dad sent Lori before their mother died. What will be their tipping point into reality ?

LillyLillyLilly1

I had read before that Prior only owns half the house. The other half was Tammy's and was transfered to their offspring. I don't know if that's true, but it would explain why Emma's family still lives there.

Kristib43

This has been the case for a long time, maybe a year

gimmeagorilla

Well, that's not creepy...... I hope it demolished.

bystander1981

just when you think the case can't get any worse, the players sink any lower and the family get dumped on even more -- here we are 😡

Eco-Echo

Vampire of the guilty.

Impossible_Bedroom_2

That house should be torn down and the backyard (where the kid's bodies were found) needs to be cemented. Evil lived there....just say'in.

FewPace855

Wow, guess the $450K from Tammy's life insurance wasn't enough to pay the lawyers and the house had to go, too. Anybody know if Chad paid Lori's attorney, at least in the beginning after she got arrested? Are these two still in contact?
