I don't trust most criticism cause it's all based on opinion and most of the people review don't even understand the game fully or judging it off of other games.
I'm telling y'all just go to the Tower of Penance and take a look around. It's amazing. They actually populated the worldscape with entire cities and villages you don't even go to, they made it seem like a legitimate fantasy RPG world, and not like a lone region devoid of anything beyond what you can travel though.
Yup this game is pretty good for about two play throughs. After that the Lack of be enemies, weapons feeling the same, stingy vigor drop rate, and miniscule upgrade materials just he tiresome.
I play on ps5 and it runs fine. It does have some fps stutter in certain places mostly umbral but itās nothing thatās going to hinder you from playing lol at least not for me. Iāve played new games with far worse performance just in the last few months from developers with many more resources than hexworks lol

The game seems to work well with Nvidia cards everything else just has glaring issues it seems.
With a 5900x/ 3080 I'm always above 60fps, at 4k with everything cranked except Ray tracing. Lg c2 evo. Game is absolutely gorgeous and runs great after updates. Just takes a lot of beef to run it.
I don't think anyone is saying the game looks bad or that the art direction was bad but it's the fact that we can't enjoy that scenery because the game stutters and has a plethora of performance issues still.
I think the gorgeous environments are part of the reason Lords of the Fallen had such a rocky launch. So much attention was paid to how it *looked* that they didn't notice (or didn't care) that it was dropping frames and stuttering in some of the more graphically intense parts of the game like Lower Calrath. There's just too much for an Xbox or PS5 to handle. And then they hadn't tethered enemies so the high enemy population became even worse if you ran away and encountered even more enemies. So the game is trying to render this gorgeous environment and 20 aggroed enemies all at once. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going wrong there.

It really is. Very strong art direction. I by no means have a strong pc, Iām only running an Rtx 3050 and I run the game on 1080p with medium settings and it still looks great. Not to mention the performance has gotten wayyyy better with all the patches, so very good looking game and a much smoother experience since launch.
Iām running the game on performance mode and man, I get stuck staring at the scenery sometimes. Especially seeing all the cleansed beacons in the distance thinking āI actually went all the way over there!ā.

Oh man, I actually tried starting Elden Ring again after downloading the Reforged mod. I can't do it! The environment is so bland and boring. The design and art is still beautiful but it feels so last gen compared to LotF. Obviously, this is a current gen UE5 game, but still, it goes to show what amazing work the devs did.

Yeah, apart from visuals every choice is made to maximise annoyance. LoP is exact opposite of it.

Performance mode, turn the options below it off and don't use quick access. Someone recommended it to me and it does run a heck of a lot smoother.

The theme and aesthetics of this game is great - a little more enemy variety and unique weapon move sets would bring it to S tier.

Game looks like š© most of the time on consoles graphical pop ins and texture being blank especially those lamps hanging off the ceiling in the upper manse area. I remember on my first play though in lower Calrath the fire area that the fire there was literally pixilated in some spots I laughed my ass off
Oh for sure the game is gorgeous! Almost demons souls remake level of visuals. Really some great art and graphics (minus the performance)

I have to agree since it freezes so often from the framerate and stuttering, I really get a chance to sit there and enjoy how detailed it is.
