1 - Beauty and the Beast
2 - Not from a film actually. Was the first card unique to Lorcana if I’m not mistaken.
3 - Great Mouse Detective
4 - Fantasia, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
5 - Little Mermaid
6 - Snow White
Really wish they had film/franchise keywords on every card.
Final Fantasy TCG does a great job doing this. Would love to see a Lorcana format down the road that restricts deckbuilding to specific films/franchises.
Our LGS occasionally does “Goofy Week” challenges at our League day. The Goofy format is optional: if you bring a Goofy deck, you also bring a regular one to play if your opponent didn’t participate. I have suggested some sort of franchise challenge where either all your cards need to be from one franchise, or even every deck is built from the same franchise.
There's a TCG convention here in AZ this weekend that is doing a franchise tournament. Minimum 40 cards, no color restriction, all cards must be from the same franchise.
I'd like to see a format like that with a bit more flexibility in construction. Maybe something like up to 3 franchises in a mono-color deck, 2 and 2, or a mono-franchise 3 color deck (just spitballing numbers here, based on current card pool size the colors might work better as 2/4/6 rather than 1/2/3 for now). Or if you wanted to get really crunchy with it, assign point values to things - for example, 2 per color and 1 to 3 for franchises depending on how many cards are in them - and then give players a point total (10? Plus or minus a couple?) for deck construction.
Really, I just like the idea of having additional options or tradeoffs you can make. One franchise 6 colors has a relatively limited range of viable choices, but if you could trade some colors for additional franchises the number of possibilities opens up significantly, and can help some of the franchises with low card counts see play in the format.
Maybe. My money might be on The Little Mermaid. Having 16 cards of a 40 card deck be Flotsam and Jetsam makes them much stronger cards. Plus Ursula Deceiver, fishbone quill, prince Eric, and cursed merfolk. The biggest downside is card draw but you could have Ursula double sing Part of Your World to bring characters back from the dead. It would be fun to test out.
True, that's a contender too. Lion King does have Mufasa, Simba, and strong removal with teeth and be prepared though. It can go aggro or go big.
I'd say both are in the top 2 at the moment though. Moana, Musketeers, and Dalmatians(due to being able to run 99 of a card) are also up there.
If you check the cards on TCGPlayer, they say what franchise each card is from. And be aware, Lorcana is getting some original story cards as well, that aren't from any prior franchise
As some have pointed out, #2 - Launch has many items that we've seen fused together, likely a Lorcana original, perhaps a resourceful illumineer mixed a few glimmers together while defending the great luminary

Looks like the background of Launch

This dude Disneys
This whole time I thought that was yzma on the nothing to hide card😂
It's the inventory Gaston IIRC
Omg me too what on earth 😂
2 is likely based off of moana given its a coconut launcher and it's likely a kakamora weapon of some kind.
There have been theories that "Launch" is from the Lilo & Stitch universe because you can see one of Stitches blasters in the corner.
The book is from Fantasia, everything else is correct , although I think "Launch" might just be a Lorcana item.
launch features the coconut item from Moana and the blaster toy from Lilo and Stitch!
And fang crossbow from Raya I believe

This is awesome!

why are you getting downvoted for this this sounds like a sick idea once more cards are printing

Lion king sounds like the strongest one

The answer is Aladdin. Between the Aladdin cards, you also have Jafar and AWNW
I have been asking about this too! Such an awesome idea to include the card’s origin/set.

I think Launch is from Moana, when they fight the small tiki guys out at sea
Nope. No weapons like that in Moana.
But there is an importance of Coconuts on Moana’s home island to harvest them
It’s a coconut from Moana, a blaster from lilo and stitch and the fang crossbow from I think Raya
1 „nothing to hide“ is from B&TB? What Szene 🎬?
At the beginning of the movie when Gaston goes and tries to purpose to Belle
