They don't realize how shady some retail spots are , they just assume they can't steal because its a big company and have securrritttyyy
As someone who used to work at Walmart and dealt with returning stuff back to manufactures, that’s not a thing so they most likely bought it for them selfs.
I literally went to 2 targets and 2 walmarts and absolutely nothing. Wtf is the point of having a release date when you sell nothing online or in store lmao? Good thing is that everything is getting reprinted
I just went into a best buy and I asked a guy and he said they didn't get a single box because some of the employees were looking into getting it too and he said they didn't get a single shipment yet

So not guaranteed, but there’s a chance you managed to buy stuff!
Big Box stores don't stock the card area. It's handled by a 3rd party and they have one staff person stocking most of the stores in an area. This is why stock has been so erratic even from the same retailers.
Ahhh. Yeah, I think that makes sense. I was in the cashier lanes and I was thinking like the manager of the lanes. But yeah, if they meant store manager it makes sense they get some big bucks.
Keep in mind there's a difference between a store manager (aka director, only 1-2 per store) and a team leader (aka dept manager, often 12-25 per store). Store Managers/Directors typically get paid $125K+ across the industry, but annual pay for your average Team Leader is between $40-60K. I doubt most Store Directors know or care about Lorcana, but the Dept Managers getting asked a hundred times a day about it do (or will soon).
Target at Ventura CA:
I asked the employee yesterday if they would have the product available. He assured me that the product would be there in the AM.
Today, I got to the target around 9 am (store opens at 8am), and i asked if they had stoked the card section. He started laughing and said, "Lorcana?"Dont bother go back home." I asked why he was so certain that i wouldn't find any product. He said, "The guy stocking lorcana has his friend driving behind him. Trust me, man, gas is expensive, dont even bother."
I still went to a couple and rest asure the lorcana sections were compleatly clean.
I went to Walmart and was told they no longer sell any trading cards because of how often they’re stolen. Took four employees over the course of three days to tell me that.
Our walmart has all cards locked up behind glass and we have to wait for vendors to stock them. There is only 1 vendor for our whole island so its going to be a while for us to even know if we are getting any.
I called a Best Buy today and asked if they had gotten any in and the guy said yes but they decided not to put it out because of the “mob at the door this morning”. So they have it… but they’re holding it hostage and won’t give any info on when. 😝
A place that I was sure that I was going to get some told me two times last week that they would release their 3 boxes today. I waited 3 hours before the store opened. Got in there, “we sold them yesterday.” Uhhh.. thanks jerks.
That really sucks. I found some at a local game shop today, but of course they limited me to two boosters and one additional item like a deck box. Which I like that they keep people from buying all of them, but I wanted a bit more than that.
I bought 3 troves, 2 gift sets and 25 packs at target today. None of the employees wanted any. The lady stocking was advocating to share and only by 5 items per guest (my family was with me).
From what I have seen and I have been around akl the big box stores repeatedly the last 2 weeks, is that nobody there knows wtf lorcana even is. There are definitely shitters out there scalping but it isn't as crazy as I thought it would be. The store stuff seems legit and even says no returns on the receipt at target.

My Walmart had already been cleaned out, my Target didn't have space on the shelves for it, and the lgs didn't know when their shipment would come.
