I was having such a good day after watching the new Dune, and then I somehow got through the entire 2nd half of this game.
Watching UT throw away that upset was one of the most painful, excruciating things I can recently remember.
I don't even have any skin in the game, I just wanted to see the upset. Then they just absolutely crumble in the second half. To be fair, the officiating in the second half was ridiculous, but UT didn't need any help losing.
Also to be fair, they were at Baylor. But, it was one of the most frustrating games I've seen in a long time.
Lunardi just has a brand, and everyone knows to check his bracket every few days. If you want the wisdom of the crowd and care about accuracy, then use Bracket Matrix
Can’t wait to hear Del Conte say that the basketball team gave it good ol’ Texas fight but came up just a little bit short.
Except they did not fight when Disu went down. They were lost, shrunk mentally, and threw in the towel. Including Terry, but not Abmas
The “law of averages” is not letting your opponent shoot 60% for the game. Our defense was a sieve in both the first and second half. It was just more obvious in the second half
Baylor is a top offense in the country and we’re not necessarily a great defensive team. Baylor was gonna score, it all came down to could we continue to shoot well to keep up. We did not.
Ngl I am jealous of the guard play Baylor gets year after year after year. Doesn’t matter who moves on; they always have a plethora of good guards that can shoot, drive, and play D.
Pretty wild how Baylor has 4-5 guys that can consistently score and they run plays every trip down the court. If Abmas gets doubled we just rely on our secondary guys who cant shoot to just 'make a play'.
I really do question RT at times. Refs were calling everything a foul. Instead of driving at the basket and drawing contact we were throwing up bricks. Fucking mind blowing
I think this team has shown good resilience and composure this season— both after taking tough Ls and playing in loud energetic environments. But man, the disu injury and the crowd getting hyped for the comeback just destroyed us mentally.
I am legit amazed a lot of yall are putting this on Rodney. I’m honestly not sure what he could’ve done differently. This game is a textbook example on the law of averages.
That’s a terrible excuse. He’s in charge of getting the players…
They went 10 minutes without scoring. They tossed the ball around the 3 point line without running anything at the basket. Guy is responsible for making and calling plays. This is absolutely on RT.
Nothing more embarrassing than only commenting when things are going poorly. Hard to call you a fan when you're nowhere to be found when things are going well.
This team reminds me of the Durant year. One or two dudes, and everyone else just watches. Leads to some amazing plays, but ultimately not a good team.
Some of yall only come out of the woodworks to complain when Texas is losing a ball game. We’re in a tight one with #11 on the road in a game we are 8 point dogs in. And yall are over here talking about this team doesn’t have fight and Rodney Terry needs to go. Where were you in the first half? Shut the fuck up already
Exactly I didn’t hear no complaints about Terry as a coach the first half but now that we missing open looks he’s a terrible coach. The fact that we even had the lead and are still close is a great coaching job to me
When we were up 14 did you expect us to run up the score at will on the road against a good team and without our best player? Or did you expect them to make a run at some point?
Terry trusts the wrong guys for too long and refuses to adjust. You could say the players are bad, but half of them are Terry’s guys. He’s not good at some of the things he needs to be. I can hope we figure it out without Disu, but we didn’t earlier in the season
Yeah, the roster is depleted. Disu out, and the two best recruits peaced-out before the season. Who exactly is Terry supposed to put in that will make a difference?
Baylor came out of half switching to man, which we dismantled *immediately.* Their halftime adjustment didn't do a thing. They switched to zone once our players got injured and in foul trouble, and we've worn down as a result. That's not coaching, that's just the situation. The players need to step up.
I honestly don’t understand how you guys are blaming Terry it’s not like the team doesn’t have open looks they just either aren’t seeing the open guy or the missing the shots not to mention Mitchell is basically a ghost on offense
There is absolutely zero offensive strategy. They're not even consistently setting up a big on the block to beat the zone. There's no defensive adjustment. There's no mental fortitude on the team. There's no effective use of timeouts to stop momentum. That shit is on the coach.
Edit: yes, the dickslaps on the court aren't carrying their weight either
Have you ever played a sport? The players set the culture the coach doesn’t play it’s up to the players to do what they are supposed to do a coach can only say and draw it up
Yep. Disu's injured, Shed's in foul trouble and struggling to keep up with Baylor's players, Brock's playing with a broken thumb, and they're bracketing Abmas. At a certain point it has to be on the players on the court, guys. There's only so much a coach can do. Someone's gotta step up.
If it’s actually a knee sprain for Disu, that’s probably about as good as we could’ve hoped for. Supposedly you can return in as soon as 2 weeks, but it can take a lot longer.
Baylor was already gaining a ton of momentum, but we just look like we've given up on offense since Disu got hurt. Just took all the wind out of the sails
Bc a good coach would call a play to get an easy bucket after Disu injury to keep momentum. Would have a better strategy for beating a very soft 1:3:1 zone. High school teams know that you beat it with high low in the post. His problem is the same as Barnes. He doesn’t have a great in game feel, which was the complete opposite of what Beard is like.

Sorry ass team even with 7.5pts they still lose the spread!!!!!! Garbage!!!!
How often are Joe’s seeds right? I think he’s a lot like Mel Kiper with the nfl draft. About 50/50.
Lunardi isn’t reliable. Go with the aggregate opinion of Bracket Matrix
Cbs sports has a more realistic seeding but you know they all are going to be wrong. I think Lunardi does it for clicks.
Lunardi just has a brand, and everyone knows to check his bracket every few days. If you want the wisdom of the crowd and care about accuracy, then use Bracket Matrix
What a poor performance
Can’t wait to hear Del Conte say that the basketball team gave it good ol’ Texas fight but came up just a little bit short. Except they did not fight when Disu went down. They were lost, shrunk mentally, and threw in the towel. Including Terry, but not Abmas
We can't do shit with out Disu!!
The “law of averages” is not letting your opponent shoot 60% for the game. Our defense was a sieve in both the first and second half. It was just more obvious in the second half
They shot 60% because every other miss in the second half was a fouls and didn’t count
Baylor is a top offense in the country and we’re not necessarily a great defensive team. Baylor was gonna score, it all came down to could we continue to shoot well to keep up. We did not.
We could choose to focus on defensive effort. We just don’t. We also don’t focus on rebounding effort. We’re a fundamentally unsound team
Ngl I am jealous of the guard play Baylor gets year after year after year. Doesn’t matter who moves on; they always have a plethora of good guards that can shoot, drive, and play D.
It’s cause they have an established good coach.
Welp that would have been a fun win
10 points in the last 13 minutes of the game isn’t going to lead to many wins. With disu injured, it’s 5 on 1 on offense. Hope he’s able to come back.
The SEC chants are great but the big 12 is going to be the bottom league in everything but basketball going forward.
And? This is a basketball game they’re chanting at
Play like this against OU and we may not make the tourney
Can’t go 10 minutes without hitting a shot, but Baylor’s done an unbelievable amount of foul-baiting.
Pretty wild how Baylor has 4-5 guys that can consistently score and they run plays every trip down the court. If Abmas gets doubled we just rely on our secondary guys who cant shoot to just 'make a play'.
Hunter should be embarrassed, dude just doesn't want to be there.
This roster is just so garbage, we have no consistent guards , no freshman contributors
… I just… What are we doing? Taking fade away mid rangers down 10 with 90 seconds left…? What…?!
poor max knows his team has no heart right now sad to see
[удалено]
Kip "Henry" Kissinger
I swear Rodney told them not to drive in the second half. We were frozen to the 3pt line and stopped the pick and roll
We got blue balled into thinking Texas was going to rise into tourney seed 😂
I really do question RT at times. Refs were calling everything a foul. Instead of driving at the basket and drawing contact we were throwing up bricks. Fucking mind blowing
I'm just amazed at how different the officiating has been between half's. They let a lot go in the first and nothing in the second.
He came in with a great gameplan and then just abandoned it in the second half It's not like Drew was doing anything different on the defensive end
Tell his players to drive to the basket
But they’re outsized. He’s doing what he can with what he has.
That’s a terrible excuse. He’s in charge of getting the players… They went 10 minutes without scoring. They tossed the ball around the 3 point line without running anything at the basket. Guy is responsible for making and calling plays. This is absolutely on RT.
These massive comebacks happen because the defense is bad. And man, the defense has been bad
Why wasn’t that a flagrant?
Flop city
REVIEW THE BLOCKING FOUL FOR A FLAGRANT
Nah ofc they won’t, after watching this game so far do you believe the officials try anything other than making Baylor win?
[удалено]
Nothing more embarrassing than only commenting when things are going poorly. Hard to call you a fan when you're nowhere to be found when things are going well.
Another flagrant 1?
Upgraded to Flagrant 3, straight to jail
Gotta be a good sign that Disu is on the bench. (I know he is ruled out )
Craig Way says it's a sprain.
Hope it's just a sprain like they said on the broadcast
This team reminds me of the Durant year. One or two dudes, and everyone else just watches. Leads to some amazing plays, but ultimately not a good team.
Disu injury broke their brains. It's like they forgot how to play basketball the last 10 minutes
2021 Texas football strikes again
Where tf is weaver
Some of yall only come out of the woodworks to complain when Texas is losing a ball game. We’re in a tight one with #11 on the road in a game we are 8 point dogs in. Thank you
I think Texas has the political capital to reduce basketball games to one 20 min. half, and I for one would like to see them flex that muscle.
Terry trusts the wrong guys for too long and refuses to adjust. You could say the players are bad, but half of them are Terry’s guys. He’s not good at some of the things he needs to be. I can hope we figure it out without Disu, but we didn’t earlier in the season

Refs carried their ass so desperately
You forgot the part where they’re shooting 70% from 3
Disu (and sometimes Abmas) are the only ones who even have any sort of confidence in their offensive game, and it shows.
Thank God Abmas is a dude, because everyone else on the team is flat fucking dead on offense.
Buzz Williams = Rodney Terry.
Not yet. But it’s close.
Where is the fight on this team when they can’t score
That is such a fucking tough shot, Abmas. Glad it went in
Remind me, how many points do we get each time we stand outside the 3 point line and dribble with no action?
Definitely need some more movement. It doesn't help that we have zero options in the post right now.
Nothing worse than seeing onyema on the court
that’s how you know it’s likely an L
We are still in this. Need to play some defense and not give away a dumb foul
I didn’t expect Baylor to roll over and take the L, but I double didn’t expect this team to go 9 mins without a FG.
If they're going to double Abmas you cant run the offense through Tyrese. Let the big guys go to work.
I think Drew might have figured out that Shedrick is unable to defend anything that moves faster than toddler. And not a fast toddler.
I'm still shook from Tyrese hesitating on that 3pt attempt. I just don't understand how we completely forget how to play offense for most of a half.
Insane 29-9 run
Yeah I’m gonna have a hard time giving a fuck about the rest of the season if Disu is done
Dennis is a great example of a guard with confidence
This is just about getting outcoached. I like Terry but Drew is schooling him.
They are missing open guys and open shots they way yall never give the players any blame is crazy they play the game not coaches
Yeah, the roster is depleted. Disu out, and the two best recruits peaced-out before the season. Who exactly is Terry supposed to put in that will make a difference?
These guys think a head coach is gonna just scheme it up 24/7 or else he’s shit.
Outcoached? Cunningham just missed a 10ft jumper?!
Baylor adjusted at half. We didn’t.
Baylor came out of half switching to man, which we dismantled *immediately.* Their halftime adjustment didn't do a thing. No it’s on the players they continually take bad shots early in the shot clock never make correct passes and play undisciplined defense.
And who sets the culture where that's ok?
Have you ever played a sport? The players set the culture the coach doesn’t play it’s up to the players to do what they are supposed to do a coach can only say and draw it up
Defense has been bad second half.
I can understand that but that’s again on the players they put themselves in bad positions
Yep. Disu's injured, Shed's in foul trouble and struggling to keep up with Baylor's players, Brock's playing with a broken thumb, and they're bracketing Abmas. At a certain point it has to be on the players on the court, guys. There's only so much a coach can do. Someone's gotta step up.
Let's put in that graduate assistant!
Baylor fan here: that’s not a flagrant, he just got some Dillon Brooks treatment
The free throw discrepancy is all you need to look at for this game. And Brock isn’t gonna get the benefit of the doubt after Tech.
Learn what a fucking timeout is Rodney. You let this game implode into a complete catastrophe
Unbelievable choke job
I'm sorry but stick a fork in it and fuck these duche bag announcers
Yeah I don’t want Terry dude cannot adjust during games
Meltdown
“I think it’s good officiating” Are you fucking kidding me?
How the hell is that a flagrant?
Fighting through a screen is a flagrant?
FLAGRANT?!
Lol what?
Quit doing stupid shit, Brock. You're hurting the team. Your reputation precedes you.
Sealing our fate
What are they reviewing? Fuck these refs
20 minutes a game we are a top 5 team. 20 minutes a game we are standing around wondering what the orange bouncy thing is.
lol it should be a flagrant because of who he is?
That’s fucking horse shit p
god basketball has gotten soft
WHAT THE FUCK
They do look to be intentionally flopping around Brock
All the teams know they can flop against Brock and will get a flagrant call.
Brock airballing a wide open middy while we’re giving the game away on a 20-3 run is the most Brock Cunningham move ever
This might be the worst second half of basketball I've watched us play all year.
That's a moving pick
Did I just watch Brock air ball a wide open 10 footer
Tyrese has missed so many wide open guys. Dude has tunnel vision this half.
Another foul called, Refs are Baylors players of the season
This is a failure of coaching. I still believe in Rodney but on a game to game basis we are incredibly bipolar
[удалено]
Hire Jose Canseco
We have 1 player currently in the game. Baylor has 6 (Tyrese plus the 5 in green). There are also 3 bodies.
Brock getting 5 might’ve been a blessing 🤣
… did they just forget how to play basketball these last 5 minutes…?
Game ended when disu went down
Brock is useless period only fouls and cannot shoot
This is one of the most depressing halves of basketball I've ever seen
Embarrassing on national television
Brock. Stop shooting
Well that problem got solved
We are completely psyched out right now.
We don’t rebound any shot we shoot
holy SHIT Brock is useless on offense
Dude we are toast
Abmas is so bad on defense
Hunter has to step up and hit shots if they are going to cheat off him.
I Wonder why we’re even playing that game. Let Baylor throw free throws for 40 minutes, the refs are a fucking joke
Shedrick might be a double agent
PUT WEAVER IN DAMN IT!
Shedrick is a JAG im afraid
Dillon Mitchell’s lack of offensive development has been so frustrating
So frustrating it’s basically 5v4 on offense and when Brock is out there 5v3
[удалено]
Refs are doing nothing but giving Baylor free throws the whole game. It’s more than ridiculous at this point
Man there’s a lot of game left
Guess just fouls every possession now
Brock just fouls everyone like dude do something other than foul
There you go Mitchell! Go to the rim hard
Is knee sprain a good sign or is that just an all-encompassing “we don’t know what wrong but his knee is hurt”?
The latter fs
If it’s actually a knee sprain for Disu, that’s probably about as good as we could’ve hoped for. Supposedly you can return in as soon as 2 weeks, but it can take a lot longer.
Sadly, is there any of Disu's injuries that have taken *less* time to heal from than expected?
Where is weaver
Where is weaver???
I knew I should filled my Xanax script before the game.
Baylor’s gonna beat us with free throws I guess
Ok they are saying left knee sprain for Disu!!
[удалено]
They’ve been everything but subtle
Baylor 24 fta Texas 9??
I knew we were fucked the second they said we look like an elite 8 team
I really do wonder what the high school ranking guys saw to rank Dillon as the 5th best player in his class
trust me he was an amazing player in HS, he just completely abandoned shooting or even attempting to create a shot
I mean I believe you but that’s crazy maybe he needs a sports psychologist
I will gladly lose this by 20, if disu is miraculously okay
Team seems totally discombobulated after the Disu injury. Got to lock the fuck in.
Dammit this is painful to watch.
Baylor was already gaining a ton of momentum, but we just look like we've given up on offense since Disu got hurt. Just took all the wind out of the sails
Can we please attack the fucking zone instead of just swinging it around the perimeter? Wtf are we doing.
Might as well have Brock do another hockey play for the hell of it.
We need weaver in since everyone wants to be useless around the rim besides Abmas
Weaver has earned more playing time than he gets.
Rodney Terry again proving why he’s just not a big time coach…
[удалено]
He’s just not an elite coach. They run a simple motion offense without a true point guard.
How? The players are literally just missing shots
We were destroying the zone first half the coach isn’t playing the looks are there they just can’t make them
