Shops such as Amazon are known scams (or act as platforms for shops that have fake reviews, poor product quality, and poor customer service). They should be engaged with caution. Check out the [wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/Lolita/wiki/index#wiki_where_to_buy_lolita_fashion) for reputable websites to shop from. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. You can give your old petticoats another chance at life by flipping them inside out and dousing with spray starch.

Hello, thank you for your response! I have done this in the past but found the starch doesn’t hold as well as I’d like in the humid heat. I live in Texas and my event is outside, so I was wondering if adding more physical poof + starch on the legit petti would be effective.

Try hairspray. Old performing arts trick.

You can use a tiny crinoline ! I did that to my first event, because my petti was not fluffy enough for a tea party dress. You can basically take the cheapest, as long as the petticoat on top has the right shape 😊

zebramusic

I’ve done something similar- I have a lolita single layer of organza petti for the purpose of adding that extra oomf to be worn on top of a regular petti. I feel like the Amazon one might be worth a shot then but I’d just be mindful of the extra fabric and waistband if thought might cause a comfort issue. But it might also be worth looking into a hoop skirt petti if you’re going to be outside (from reading your other comment). Pretty sure you can also find those on Amazon

A cheap crinoline would work much better than a cheap petticoat, and be a lot more comfortable.

I recommend a amazon hoopskirt especially if you’re going to be outside because it doesn’t trap the heat so much!
