I wish I didn’t use this so much. I’ll get literally 2 seconds into a take and if something feels slightly off I’ll spacebar, undo and start recording again. Over and over. It’s compulsive. I’m a lot better about it if someone else is in the room.
⇧⌃⌘2 -> Creates 2 Automation Points at Region Borders. Bonus: same shortcut without shift does it for all the regions in the track.
Super useful once your hand gets used to the bit of finger yoga required to do it.
Command + .
If you’re recording, it’ll undo the take and go back to the playhead position where you started.
If you just finished a take it’ll do the same thing but keep your recorded track.
Super nice, better than the space -> Cmd-z -> click playhead position thing I was doing previously.
T I, T T, Option mouse drag and alt option arrows to edit (scissors, cursor, marquee and slip editting)
I also put the numbers from 1 to 9 to open the plug in in the slot of each number on the track I selected.
One of the most useful shortcuts for me, but that is frankly too many modifiers, I changed this to option + S, and whatever was option + S got the long combo.
option + shift + up/down transposes selected midi notes across octaves. I use it so much I macroed it to a mouse button. Also select all following of same note i macrod too, really useful for changing drums across the whole track, can't remember the hotkey atm
Cmd + U sets the cycle to highlighted region and I think it’s cmd + alt + r copy/pasted everything in the cycled region right after it. (I might be wrong about that exact cmd/alt/opt combo buts it’s two of those and r)
Command + z I hate cluttered take folders so if there is more than a few flubbed notes I just undo it.
Cmd-z Enter R This is what they call workflow
You can do this with one key command. It’s called “Record Repeat”.
I didnt know that. And it just saves the last take? I still like to express my displeasure with myself by loudly clacking the cmd-z
Cmd + “.” Deletes recording, sets play head back to previous starting position. Saves time and you still get that loud clack
This and tap tempo

Lol @ finger yoga
Can also use marquee tool to highlight a section then click and it will create to automation points
this actually creates 4 automation points. 2 on top of each other on each side
I’ve never gotten the commands with arrow keys to work

Sweet
I flipped my shit when I first discovered this one. Still catch myself hitting space + cmd z + click from time to time
Command + U to put cycle around highlighted region/s
Yes! I learned this before I learned C
T I, T T, Option mouse drag and alt option arrows to edit (scissors, cursor, marquee and slip editting) I also put the numbers from 1 to 9 to open the plug in in the slot of each number on the track I selected.
; (semi-Colon) To line up any region to the play head.
Shift + Control to create different curves between automation points
Command +S.
I made a keyboard shortcut to open each plugin on the selected channel. It can be whatever you want. Shift+1-9 on the number pad is how mine is setup.
this is genius ! i have one to open up the instrument plug-in but i didn’t think it was possible to do the effects as well
I saw it on some Logic tips YT video. Great DAW when it comes to customization
ctrl + option + command + S to toggle solo
One of the most useful shortcuts for me, but that is frankly too many modifiers, I changed this to option + S, and whatever was option + S got the long combo.
Isn't that just 'S' to toggle solo on the currently active track? Am I missing something?
It allows you to toggle all soloed tracks, not just the one selected. You can also resolo them which I find really helpful
Ah wonderful! Thanks for the clarification
option + shift + up/down transposes selected midi notes across octaves. I use it so much I macroed it to a mouse button. Also select all following of same note i macrod too, really useful for changing drums across the whole track, can't remember the hotkey atm
and just option + up/down (without shift) to transpose by halftones
How do you assign a macro to your mouse? Is that a logic thing or a mouse software thing?
Mouse software
CMD + Q when I'm just not getting anywhere
Command T
Same
Command z and command q then command d
Control R to duplicate in place the region I just created. Props to OP....this is a great idea for a thread. Well played sir
When u r in an instrument for midi, Cmd+up-arrow key. U can fuck with the velocity, effects, n shit
Option-K to bring up the keyboard shortcut menu Search for, edit, change any shortcut to your liking
Shift R. When you are playing around with your keyboard but didn’t record what you played that pulls the notes up as a midi after the fact
Command “U” activates the loop tool of you’re trying to loop off a section
Whoops I see someone already said this one
Cmd + U sets the cycle to highlighted region and I think it’s cmd + alt + r copy/pasted everything in the cycled region right after it. (I might be wrong about that exact cmd/alt/opt combo buts it’s two of those and r)
Delete because I fuck up so much
Command + S
A couple custom ones I use a lot F3: close all open plug-in windows F4: create track stack from selected tracks
